DOWELL AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR
About us
Dan Dowell founded Dowell Automotive Repair Inc. on January 1st of 1995. Business was conducted in a one bay garage rented from Dan’s father in Shadeland. At this point Dowell Automotive was a one-man show. Business grew rapidly due to an honest reputation and the superior quality of the work. In September of 1999, Dan moved the business to its current location 3355 S. 250 W. The new building was complete with four bays, a waiting area, a parts storage room, a large parking lot, and was seated on two acres of land. It was important to Dan for the building and grounds to be kept in a clean and tidy condition. This was not your average car repair shop. In August of 2008 Dowell Automotive Repair expanded further by adding three more super bays able to accommodate large trucks and emergency vehicles. This new expansion is equipped with a 15,000-pound lift for the increasing demand for fleet service. Today, Dowell Automotive Repair serves Shadeland and the Greater Lafayette area with a wide variety of customers’ needs. From changing the oil on a compact car, to servicing an entire fleet of emergency vehicles, you can always count on Dowell Automotive for quality service.
