If a zero star was possible, this would be a zero. Geothermal Specialists contacted us in January 2018 to schedule an appointment for a Comfort Care Maintenance service that they recommended to us. Since we had previously used this company to provide repair service on our Geothermal Unit, we agreed to schedule the appointment. A technician was sent to our home on 3/6/18 and completed the $195 service . Minutes after the tech left, my husband noticed that the Geothermal unit was now leaking. He called the tech back to our house and after examining the leak, the tech explained that a chemical he flushed through the unit as a part of the maintenance process created the leak as the unit was very old and the chemicals were too harsh. He then recommended that we purchase a new unit ($11,000) to replace the old one, but if we were unable to do that, they could repair the leak for approx. $700 but it would be a week before someone could return to do it. We asked to speak with the owned since this seemed unfair as their company encouraged and mislead us into receiving the service, and now the service had caused a leak that they were now asking us to pay an additional $700 to repair. On 3/6/18 we spent the night without heat, on 3/7/18 we called another company to repair the unit. The company that repaired the unit on 3/7/18 only charged us $250, compared to the $700 Geothermal Services wanted to charge to fix a leak they caused. The reader can do the math on that. After contacting the main office to request a refund for the $195 comfort care maintenance service, Steve, the owner of Geothermal Specialists called me at 5 pm on 3/7/18 and would not take any accountability for the fact that theirmaintenance service initiated the leak on our unit. He then said he would issue a $195 refund, ONLY IF we agreed to sever ties with their company, call someone else to repair the leak they caused, and not share any negative feedback about their company online/ or otherwise. We of course didn't agree to that for a number of reasons, which should be obvious to most people. He then said he would no longer issue a refund since we could not agree to the terms he outlined. I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's consumer protection office and the Better Business Bureau, both complaints are currently being investigated. I was not at all surprised to discover that this was not the first complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau on Geothermal Specialists. We have never had to leave negative feedback on any company we have ever done business with, but this was the worst experience we've ever had with any company. After using this company's repair services for over I yeah paying in full for each service, even if we felt the prices were inflated, we were very disappointed by the carelessness of the service provided and the failed attempt by the owner Steve to intimidate us as if we have done something wrong. Which is why we made it a priority to share the long details of this experience, so the public can be informed.

They really do a nice job. Steve the owner is out on every job and they got it done in one day. They cleaned up after the job and the pump has been working flawlessly since installed. They’re always available on the phone for any questions(very few of those!). This heat pump also delivers hot water to our water heater to make it even more efficient. Very pleased all around.

We have a service of agreement with them where they come out on an annual basis. Their response time is relatively quick and they are accommodating to emergencies. The technicians they hire are excellent. If the technicians are ever having issues the owner will personally come out to look at the unit and answer any questions.

When they were installing the unit the house was being built. The carpenters were cutting wood which resulted in dust getting in the furnace. When the owner came to explain to me that dust got into the system he talked down on me and I felt he was condescending. I am happy with the quality of the product and they have been doing the annual maintenance since the installation.

"As a point of clarification: A production Supervisor addressed issues with [removed member name]. We recognize our man communicates very directly. It is not our practice to talk down to anyone and do our best to educate and communicate in a postive manner. As a point of interest- that individual has not been with our company for a couple years. They are great to work with and I have been using them for over two years. I would highly recommend their services. It is small company but they are very reliable. I like my geothermal system a lot. When you call they are responsive and always follow through on appointments. They are also knowledgeable and trustworthy.

My home is a 200 year old farmhouse and I also had them replace some of the duct work.  They were very prompt, knew exactly what the job required.  They tested the system after installation for function and leaks.  When finished they cleaned everything and explained how the system works to both my wife and I.  The cost savings have been what I consider extreme a savings of approximately 65% annually.  The savings could be higher but we now keep the thermostat set to 72 when we previously kept it at 68 during the day and 64 at night in the winter months.  I have them come out once a year to do routine maintenance, same as my old furnace.  I have had no problems with the system after 3 years of use.

It went very well. We found a leak in the system 6 months after the service was performed and they came out and fixed it free of charge.  I would use them again. They were professional and showed up on time

Their service was very good. The first time we used them was over Christmas Eve when our furnace went out. We had called several companies to get a part, but no one had it in stock. We called them by recommendation by our parents. They came out that night by 9pm and got everything working. They didn’t charge an arm and a leg, we were very pleased. I would recommend them to anyone. Their clean up very well. We have had them back to service our furnace since then.

They seem honest and reliable. I like the way they do their service and I trust them in my home. Geo Thermal systems are expensive but it's a product that pays you back with low electric bills. It is a clean energy.

They were punctual. The sales person and technician are outstanding. We really liked the technician a lot. There was a minor problem with a pump during installation that they did fix for us, even though it wasn't related to their service. They gave us a more powerful humidifier because we had purchased an undersized one. They really stepped up to the plate for us here and gave us a more powerful one that would be better for our home. I would definitely hire them again in the future.

We were originally scheduled for October 2009.  But then someone else was building a new home and they needed to get a heating system in it to protect the drywall.  We had ordered our system in August and were patiently waiting.  They gave our system to the the other people and made us wait while they ordered another one.  We probably would have said yes had they explained the situation. But they didn't and when we called to see where our system was then they told us what they had done.  That didn't set to well. It would have been better for them to ask.  When the system finally came in, they scheduled the work.  The salesperson had told us that they would hook up the water heater if we purchased it, which we did.  The installation crew didn't know about this and gave us some resistance.  They did finally hook up the water heater. The salesperson had also told us that we didn't have to pay the balance until 30 days after installation to make sure we were happy with  everything.  The company tried to charge us a service fee for not paying them immedietely.  We were following what the salesperson had said and written on the contract.  The service fee was dropped.

My husband was not entirely happy with the quality of the installation job.  He thought that the work was a little sloppy.
Also in March of 2010 we had an issue with the system.  We tried to call and they didn't return the call until after the weekend.
