John Herron was fantastic throughout the entire process. From the initial phone call to obtain a quote to completion of the work, John was extremely helpful and professional. He made us feel at ease throughout the entire process, especially because it was our first home purchase. He always returned phone calls in a timely fashion and answered all of our questions. He did a thorough inspection of the home and pointed out the areas we should be concerned about and what to look for. The report he generated regarding the home inspection was timely and easy to understand. His findings made us feel confident in our offer and purchase of the home. We've occupied the home for two months now and his findings were completely accurate. I highly recommend John from Pillar to Post Inspection and would hire him again.

The inspection was OK during the process because I did not know any better. A couple of very minor repairs were noted in the inspection report (which was not received on time). We were told the house was in good shape so we moved forward with the purchase. Within the first week of having the house we found out there was mold all over the house, there were visible water spots throughout the house from leaking toilet, air conditioner, etc. I don't know how we missed these, I guess we were so excited about the house that we just overlooked them. We also fully trusted that the home inspection would find any issues. The water smelled really bad and we still have not figured out what is causing all of the water issues. The swimming pool liner was ruined when we moved in. There is wood rot in multiple places and the water heater had to be replaced. The latest problem we have found is with the chimney falling apart due to cracks. John was contacted and told how disappointed we were with his service and didn't seem to care at all. We were told he couldn't inspect the roof because it was in too bad of shape. I don't expect perfection and I know it is unreasonable to expect the inspector to find every problem, but I would assume they should find atleast one!
Please, please do not use John Herron to perform your home inspection. You will regret it!

Excellent home inspector. John did two inspections for me this summer (2013). I was very pleased with how he performed both inspections. Being new to the area, I needed someone I could trust. John proved to be that person. He is very professional and thorough. He explains the results in terms you can understand and use. His written report is detailed with photos and a binder to keep it in. I would highly recommend him for any home inspection!

We could not have been happier with John and his service. By the time I called him, I had already fired another inspector, before he even came to the house, who obviously did not know what he was doing. Because of that, I was trying to be cautiously optimistic, but was really not expecting much from another inspector. John was on time for the inspection, gave us a thorough report, spent about an hour after the inspection was complete explaining everything to us and answering all the questions we had. He made us feel very comfortable that we had the information necessary to decide whether or not to purchase the house.
