White Installations

Our new home has a large fireplace that is the centerpiece of the Greatroom.  This large fireplace, Arts & Crafts in design, is surrounded by a large field of square ceramic tile.  The floor level hearth has the same tile and extends into the hardwood floor area.  The same tile is used on the back splash in the kitchen to highlight the soapstone counters.  The tiles are handmade and are not uniform in dimension and/or thickness.  The original tile installers did not pay attention to these differences in tile size and the resulting installation was uneven in appearance and the grout lines did not line up.  After numerous discussions (and more excuses than answers) it became evident that the original group was not going to be able to make the tile installation look right.  I hired Dwayne White (White Installations) to relay the tile on both the fireplace and the back splash.  New tile was ordered (I ordered extra tile to enable Dwayne to pick and choose tiles whose dimensions were similar) and Dwayne spent three days installing them.  The new installation is smooth and the previous problems were gone - both the fireplace and the back splash look fantastic.  I would highly recommend Dwayne for any type of tile installation or repair.  He is a true professional, pays attention to the details, and is more worried about making the job "right" rather than just getting it done.
