Vogue Nail Spa

Not at all as advertised and not very organized. The company takes and appears to require appointments; my service began 20 minutes late. The technician insisted she use a drill to rough-up my nails to prep the gel application. My fault for not doing more research - this was my first time trying this type of gel polish and I didn't ask enough questions before starting. I decided to proceed; however, I've since learned that this step could be accomplished with light buffing. I should have stopped here and walked out. The Protein Powder manicure is described on their website (as of 27Feb2022"): "instead of dipping the nails, we pour the powder over the nails, which help prevent cross-contamination from re-using the powder." However, my nails were dipped into a larger container of powder. When I questioned this, the technician told me that the powder was poured into this “disposable” container that we could then safely dip my nails into. I'm sure this was the container that I looked at when I selected my nail color with same label on the lid showing color name and number. I should have stopped here and walked out! The end result appears to be passable (so far, no warts or infection), but the technician refused to shape my nails the way I described (follow my existing nail shape, slightly rounded). So I've got these short, square, and kind of chunky (possibly the nature of powder dipped nails in general) nails at the end of my fingers. Fortunately, I selected a light neutral color. Presently looking online for methods to safely remove these things at home.
