Description of Work: Very respectful (verbally, of my time, on my property, of my house) and extremely professional. Offered different options and were honest. They are in my insurance company's preferred program & communicated with each other so I wasn't the middle man. Some repairs I had to pay for and they worked with me on costs and were honest. Always answered any question I had and phone calls were timely.

Description of Work: Universal was supossed to be at my house at 11am. I waited around and they never showed. I called them and they told me they were running late. They still never showed up. I work the midnight shift and got absolutely no sleep waiting around for them. I am very displeased.

Description of Work: "Universal Roofing did work on our interior ceiling, exterior roof and flashing, and installed James Hardy siding after we experienced damage caused by ice damning. The professionalism and craftsmanship of their interior repair staff was poor (the crew left a mess and had to return to repair faulty work on our ceiling), and the crew who worked on the exterior repairs stained our patio furniture with paint/caulk (which was credited to us), incorrectly installed flashing along the siding, and the siding itself is poorly /unprofessionally secured onto the house. | |The worst part was they suggested we submit the entire claim to our insurance. They were well-versed in communicating with insurance companies and got approval for reimbursement for all their work- which seemed great- until the next winter we had even more water damage in the same area from the same problem. Our homeowner's insurance dropped us and our new policy's premium is triple that of our previous rate. | |Universal roofing ultimately blamed the issue on faulty gutters ( which 2 professional gutter companies negated). They offered to redo the poorly-installed flashing and the poorly-secured siding, but we decided we didn't trust this company to do any more work (damage) to our home."

[Member Name Removed], This is a very disappointing review. We were originally hired to repair a leak over the back porch, in which we did replace the flashing and James Hardie siding. In the following winter, we did have a storm in which 8 inches of snow fell quickly and heavily. This snow immediately turned to ice, which backed up in the 2nd story gutters (which we did not repair, as it was not included in the insurance scope). The insurance adjuster determined this to be an "Act of God", not an act of Universal Roofing, as it had never leaked during record-setting rainstorms or previous 12 months of wind, rain, snow, and ice. How can Universal Roofing be responsible for your insurance company dropping you as a customer - what a stretch! Sincerely, Rob Yeary Owner

RANDY YEARY WAS VERY UPBEAT, PROFESSIONAL, AND PROMPT FOR ALL APPOINTMENTS. HE WENT THE EXTRA MILE AND PERSONALLY DELIVERED LITERATURE ON RIDGE VENT SYSTEMS. HIS CREW ALSO ARRIVED RIGHT ON SCHEDULE, WERE COURTEOUS, AND DID A VERY GOOD JOB CLEANING UP. THE WHOLE PROJECT WAS DONE IN 1 DAY.

OUR MAIN CONTACT WAS BRIGETTE & SHE WAS VERY PATIENT & RESPONSIVE TO ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS. TO HELP US DETERMINE WHICH COLOR SHINGLE TO SELECT, BRIGETTE PROMPTLY PROVIDED US WITH ADDRESSES OF OTHER HOMES THAT HAD THE COLORS WE WERE INTERESTED IN. ONCE THE DECISION WAS MADE WE WERE ON THE SCHEDULE WITHIN 1 WEEK. WE WERE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO THE MATERIALS BEING DELIVERED TO OUR HOME. THE CREW SHOWED UP ON TIME, MOVED OUR PATIO FURNITURE & OTHER ITEMS OUT OF THE WAY & THEN PLACED TARPS AROUND THE HOUSE & OVER THE BUSHES. THEY STAYED UNTIL ALMOST 7 PM TO FINISH THE JOB & WERE VERY THOROUGH IN CLEANING UP NAILS AND OTHER DEBRIS AROUND THE HOUSE. A FEW DAYS LATER WE NOTICED THAT NOT ALL OF THE BOX VENTS WERE INSTALLED & CALLED TO INQUIRE. BRIGETTE CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A MIX-UP AND SENT SOMEONE OUT THE SAME DAY WE CALLED TO COMPLETE THE INSTALL. SHE CALLED BACK TO FOLLOW-UP WITH US AND TO CONFIRM THAT WE WERE HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. VERY PROFESSIONAL GROUP TO WORK WITH!!

THE COMPANY WAS VERY RESPONSIVE. THE YOUNG LADY WHO WORKED THE PHONE WAS HELPFUL, AND PUNCTUAL AT RETURNING CALLS AND PROVIDING INFORMATION. THE YOUNG MAN WHO CAME OUT TO ESTIMATE AND LATER TO DO THE WORK WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO WORK WITH MY SCHEDULE. (I BELIEVE HE WAS THE BROTHER OF THE OWNER) THEY HAD THE WORK DONE QUICKLY AND CLEANED UP SATISFACTORILY. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
