I supplied the materials. It was Owens Corning 50 year. They were very good. They were nice and neat. Other companies compliment on the work on how good it looks.

I have called Universal roofing several times with no luck. Someone from there office called to tell me they would be out between June 19 and June 23. They were a now show. I called the office again and told them about this and still have not heard back from them, it has been over a month. They do not return calls and they do not show up for appointments.

We have not found a nail in our yard since the work was done. The workers covered everything around the house for protection, & the cleanup was complete. I had a couple of minor concerns about the work, and the supervisor took care of them the day he got my call. Our work was done during the hail repair season, so the office staff was pretty busy and a little slow to respond, but very nice and apologetic for the delays.

Project was performed professionally from start to finish. The owner (Randy Yeary) makes you feel like you are his only customer. His knowledge and diagnostic abilities are very impressive and leave you with the assurance that the job was done properly. The project was completed just a week before the April hail storms hit. Mr. Yeary came out to inspect the roof for any damage after the storms. Only a couple of shingles needed replacing, and no other damage occurred. Unfortunately for me (the owner) the hail storms would have certainly destroyed my old roof and it would have been replaced by insurance. Some times a company can be too punctual! :)lol! If you get a low-ball estimate from some other company for hail damage just to stay under the insurance coverage, remember, you get what you pay for. Universal has the highest standards.

I am very pleased with Universal Roofing. Everyone is very nice. In addition to putting the new roof on, they replaced the soffit vents after discovering they were not right and were clogged with insulation. They have come back out a couple of times after the job was complete to address issues. One issue really had nothing to do with their work. A bird had built a nest in the soil pipe which caused leaking. They removed the nest and put caps on all the soil pipes at no cost. They are very responsive and thorough.

We obtained 6 estimates before choosing Univeral Roofing. We felt Universal provided extras not included in the other estimates. Gary, the estimator, responded quickly with the estimate and was readily available for any questions we had. The roofing team, lead by Michael, did a fantastic job. Michael kept us informed at all times of the progress and any problems that were encountered. Wayne is an excellent metal worker- the copper looks great! Randy, the owner, came out himself and worked with Wayne in a very hot attic to install the Sun Tunnel in the perfect spot. All were easy to work with, very accommodating, and professional. We made the RIGHT choice.

They did an excellent job and were very professional.

They were very good. $400 of the price was for the mini barn. $870 of the cost was unexpected, the decking and the 1x6s that had to be replaced. We knew that would be a possibility, but for someone who has never had their roof done should factor that in. The original quote was for $5,000. When they ended up doing the roof, it was the end of October, and the weather was pretty cool especially in the morning, but they came and got to work. They were pretty quick, and they did the whole job in a day and a half. The owner, Randy, had kind of bragged that they always did a good job cleaning up. Because I have had this work done before, I was kind of skeptical, but they picked up 98% of everything; it was pretty darn good. There are always tiny bits and pieces that are there. I was very impressed with them. Randy ended up being super helpful in regards to my elderly neighbors. When he was here doing our job, my husband and I knew what he was doing. He looked at their roof for us.

I called Universal Roofing on May 2nd to schedule an appointment for an estimate. I explained in great detail what I needed an estimate on. I was told that someone would just show up to take a look at the roof the week of May 22nd, and I would receive a quote in my email. There were no traces that anyone had been there. I did not receive an emailed quotation.

WE USED UNIVERSAL YEARS AGO FOR OUR ROOF REPLACEMENT, AND WHEN THE HAIL STORM CAME, WE WERE RELIEVED TO KNOW THAT THEY WERE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE IT. THEY CAME RIGHT OUT, WORKED WITH OUR INSURANCE COMPANY, AND COMPLETED THE JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER. OUR ROOF & GUTTER LOOK GREAT! THEY MADE A POSSIBLE STRESSFUL SITUATION MUCH EASIER THAN WE THOUGHT POSSIBLE. WE KNOW WHO TO CALL IF WE EVER NEED ANOTHER ROOF.

They were able to get the house and garage done all in one day. I like Michael Smith (Supervisor).

They never called back to schedule an inspection, despite the fact that I told them I had been referred to them by a satisfied customer.

I scheduled an appointment for May 19 or 20. They told me I did not need to be here when someone came and that I should receive a written estimate in a week. I was here both days and they did not come. I called after this, but they have not returned my call. The people I speak to are very nice but they just do not show up.

I would've appreciated a call back.

I highly recommend this firm. They were prompt in responding to my request for an estimate. They explained things thoroughly and carefully. The work crew were superb. They were easy to work with and did an outstanding job of cleanup. The work was completed in two days. I sent an e-mail listing six very minor items that I wanted to have corrected. They responded quickly and courteously to that request making every effort to be sure I was satisfied. I got two bids which were almost identical. I am glad I chose this company.

They did exactly what we expected and their estimate was right on the money.

I called them and spoke to someone who told me they would call back in about 10 minutes. A week later, no one had called, so I called them back. They said again that they would call back, but two weeks later, I've never heard from them.

They were busy, but they did it all in about a day and a half. They were good, and they cleaned up well. We got three bids, and theirs was reasonable.

The workers showed up when they were suppose to, had all the shingles reemoved, replaced bad plywood, and had the paper back on in the first day. Day two they arrived on time and started working. They were done by the end of the day but needed to return to install one more vent. The clean up was great and were very happy with the job and the professionalism. They returned to install the ridge vent and were off to another site. Great job to all that worked so hard, we are very pleased.

They were very nice but I was floored by the price of the estimate. They came in at so much higher than other estimates given.

Universal was the second of two quotes we requested in anticipation of the roofing work we needed done. Randy's son came out to give us the quote. My wife reported that this fellow was very arrogant to talk to. He eyeballed the roof while walking around the garage, rather than getting up on the roof and checking out & measuring the roof. Overall, we didn't get as good of a feeling from these guys. On the plus side, Randy seems like a very nice fellow, himself, and followed up the quote with a packet containing copies of bonding/licensing/Angie's List awards as well as our estimate. He offered us an Angie's List document of $200. The discount put his estimate very close to our first choice, but we did not end up choosing them.($$1,795.00)

Wonderful! Totally professional and efficient. When the work was performed (on a Sat) they were here over 11 hours until after the sun went down in order to nearly complete the job. We were so impressed! The cleanup of all the debris was excellent.

From estimate to completion, these guys are the best! They provided a complete description of everything they were going to do and WHY, and then provided physical evidence of why certain work needed to be performed. The clean-up was phenomenal, and they even went the extra step of painting the flashing around the chimney to match the roof. The on-site supervisor was professional and communicative; they showed up when they said they would; they worked over 8 hours a day to finish the job when they said they would and to worked around weather conditions. They are fantastic! And, by the way, the week before the roofing was done, THIS OLD HOUSE did a segment on roofing, and UNIVERSAL did the work precisely how it was demonstrated by TOH as the correct process for replacing a roof.

We had some confusion about what exactly needed to be done, but the confusion turned out to be good, because I did need more work (the vent directed outside) that I didn't know about. I am not quite so sure about the fact that the original estimator said I needed boards replaced around the chimney, I believe I was charged for that, but the boards were not replaced because they said they couldn't see where it was needed. I plan to have someone come and look at it again to make sure more work does not need to be done to fix the boards.

IMPRESSED WITH SMALL REPAIRS DONE & WILL KEEP COMPANY IN MIND FOR LARGER JOBS, SUCH AS ROOF REPLACEMENT.
