Wayne and his two crew guys were extremely professional, neat and explained what was being done and why!

I requested estimates from 3 companies. Universal submitted last estimate, but presented the most thorough one. The company allowed me a vast selection of tiles from which to choose. It took me a couple of weeks (& lots of miles) to make a choice, but it was the smartest decision Universal could have made because I have no regrets. The crew applied themselves from the get-go. Nice people. The supervisor had to apply paint to a couple of boards twice because I gave him the wrong color (my fault but he did not complain). The supervisors always safeguarded my coming and going so I wouldn't get hurt from falling debris. The crew removed the stuff from my deck (I meant to do it beforehand) cheerfully and then replaced it. They did an excellent job on the roof, flashing, painting, clean up and the water sealant appearance is dynamite. Also compassionately helped an ailing family member. Thanks to both supervisors and the entire crew, it was a really good day.

They were very courteous. They were on time. They worked rapidly, there was no playing around. I thought they did a really good job, I was really pleased, especially with their clean up. I would hire them again and recommend them.

Called back 1st day and said he'd give an estimate. Came next day as promised and gave estimate. Took a few days for weather to clear, but 1st decent day, crew was working on roof. Communication was minimal, but OK for the project. Gave 5-year workmanship warranty.

Richard performed the quote within two weeks of my original contact. When we met to go over the details of the job to be quoted, Richard impressed me with his knowledge and assurance that the job was going to be done correctly. Although their quote was higher than the competing quote, I felt a greater confidence which was also supported by Universal Roofing's longer warranty. The job was finally performed on an agreed date and completed within the one day estimated. A gutter was damaged during the repair. When I addressed this to Richard, he agreed that it needed to be replaced and took responsibility coming back with a new gutter and installing it. When completed, Richard cleaned up all the debris. The finished job was just as I had asked for. So far, none of the areas repaired have resulted in any leaks.

I was particularly impressed that they arrived on time and came to do the work earlier than scheduled, because they wanted to get it patched before some fore-casted precipitation. After I paid, they called me to thank me for paying so quickly. I was very impressed.

They were willing to coordinate with the painter on when they could put the gutters up. They were just very cooperative.

Rob came out quickly to give the estimate. He then took care of the problem and everything worked out well. I will use them again in the future.

I really liked them! Most roofers don't pay much attention to ventilation but these guys do. They paid attention to details. They were great to work with and were the best company that I had come out. They gave me a great price, they hand nail the shingles and take great pride in their quality.

They are very good for people that live in older homes with unique gutter systems; they certainly have experience in this area. Their prices were higher since they had to custom fabricate some of the metal for the work however they did have a discount which is indicated in the approximate cost.

Estimate was done quickly and contract was written exactly like I asked for. The first day of work I came home to find that not only were the back gutters torn off, ALL the gutters were torn off. They tell me not to worry about it and that they will be installing new gutters on the front of the house as well - the tear off guy made a mistake. Install was completed after a heavy snow, seeing the craftsmen operate ladders with 3 inches of snow on the ground was worrisome! Gutters looked fantastic - except the additional downspout on the NE side was the ONLY downspout on that length. I called to ask about the other spout and they apologized for not calling me when the decision was made to do it that way. Apparently the additional spout was not needed and flow was better with only one. They offered to fix it, but instead I asked for the price to come off the contract. They did, and I got the whole job done for $405, including the front gutters that were torn off by mistake.

This is a family owned business. The brothers came to do the estimate themselves, and it is obvious from their quick size up, they do work so nice and honest. Did everything I asked.

These guys were great. I called at 8:00 am and they were at my house by 11:00 am. I called for an temporary fix before the predicted snow storm. After climbing up, they told me the roof was stained, but fine and they could complete the permanent fix right then. I asked them to check over the rest of the roof and they found another shingle that had blown off and repaired that too. I found them to be honest and very pleasant. I would definitely call them again.

They were very clear on and honest about the work they had to complete.

I called on a Thurs. needing replacement downspouts and was told estimator would call Friday or Monday to set up appt. I said Friday would be much better since my downspouts were gone and I needed new ones ASAP. Never heard back from estimator until 13 days after my original call - by then had gotten other estimates and arranged for work.

They said that they will come out on Monday 11.19.07 and would call my cell phone so that I can meet them at the house when they arrive. I called them on Monday and the gentlemen said that he would not be able to come out today because they were tied down with other work, but would be able to come out later this week.

These people go beyond the call of duty, and made sure I didn't have any leaks. I strongly recommend them for all services. They came immediately for a very simply repair.

They were extremely prompt and professional. Their price was very competitive. They worked very hard and efficiently and did a great job. After they were finished they did an excellent job of cleaning up, making sure that all of the nails and any remnants of the roofing materials were out of the yard. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needs to have their roof/gutters/skylights replaced.

Universal Roofing came when we first contacted them and gave us an extimate on replacing the roof for the with the same type of asphalt and flat roof with no problems. The estimate was approximately $15,000. We waited a year and asked them to come back and give an estimate for upgraded tile and pitching the roof. It took 3 calls to get them to come and 5 calls to get them to send the estimate. The estimate for the change was $88,000. It did not have a break down of cost. We have decided not to use this company.

We went with a company said they could do every part of this project for less. We had less work done, but everything is working fine for now.

THEY SENT OUT 2 DIFFERENT PEOPLE. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, VERY COURTEOUS, AND I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.

Wayne worked with us on pricing and on finding a solution for the problem that we were having with water pooling at the point where the chimney ties into the roof. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We also worked with Rob toward the end and he was great to work with as well. Their crew was very good and they were diligent about working late to get the job done as quickly as possible. We had several things going on at the same time and they were great about working with the other contractors. Their pricing was not the cheapest but when they gave the estimate there were several things that they noted that other companies didn't mention but I felt that they were important to address.

Randy came out prior to the hail storm and said that the roof was fine and didn't need to be replaced. Randy came after the hail storm and said that we will need to replace it before the winter, because it will leak inside. Insurance company came out after that and said it wouldn't leak and the roof was fine. That winter it leaked in several places and into the attic. Randy came out when the insurance company came out 2 out of the 3 times also wrote a letter to the insurance company and also to the judge for arbitration. All this time that Randy was driving back and forth he didn't ask for money. Of all the service providers I have used on Angie's List I will give him the highest recommendation and kudos for working with us on the roof. This project lasted a year and a half and I would recommend this service provider for the super service award for that.
