We were very pleased with the final appearance of the roof, and we were happy with all aspects of their work.

I had talked to a lot of people and hadn't been a impressed. This company is close to where I live so it's convenient. They were very good and professional. They seemed know what was going on. Their price was good and competitive.

It was a great experience. They came out and looked at and fully explained the different products. They made some recommendations which I went with. They scheduled a time for the installers to come out. The installers were very professional and courteous. Came out and got the job done in one day.

Every step of the process from the initial appointment to gather specifications through completion of work was top-notch. Our roof sustained storm damage beyond repair and had to be replaced. While there were obvious areas of damage, we didn't know what additional damage might exist under the two-layer roof. Universal came out quickly when we called for an additional estimate. They spent time talking with us about options (shingle type, zinc strips, gutter screen function) and easily answered our questions. We also wanted a few pricing options based on features that might be optional and they easily produced multiple quotes. All estimates, orders, installation and follow-up was done on a timely basis, delivered as promised.

Everything went great. It was just wonderful. I would highly recommend them to any of my clients.

I called roughly a week ago, and they said they would try to get to my home in a couple of days. However, they did not respond for another week. When they did arrive, I explained the problem, and they said the only thing they could do is replace the fan altogether. I explained that raccoons had ruined the wiring, so they suggested an electrician. They never made an attempt to look at the fan. I felt like the visit was not very customer-oriented, and I was disappointed that they did not make the attempt to see the fan, nor did they offer any potential names of electricians that I might use.

The salesman was very professional, yet not pushy. They showed up on time and did the new roof and repairs in one day. The gutters were to be added within three days. They came the following day. I was very impressed with the clean up. If not for the new roof, there was no evidence that they had been there. Overall, I am very happy with their customer service and the work performed. I would highly recommend them!

They were very good, they are really friendly, they are very good at explaining what it was they were going to do. I also felt that there prices were reasonable.

We were very pleased. They were a very good company to work with and took all of our concerns and questions into consideration and they did a great clean up job. They gave us an estimate before and the siding estimate was right on the dollar and with the roof there were a few extra things that needed to be done but that was just fine with us.

They were prompt and I like that they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. They worked until they got the job done and took about half a day to complete it.

This was the first time we had used their service. They gave us an estimate and it was right on. The were expedient and got out here and got it handled. They were good on their price.

Price was an A. They were the 2nd lowest of the 4 bids we received, and only slightly above the lowest. I chose them due to the "extras" they recommended and included in the price (suggesting our vents should be widened, for example). This gave me a good feeling that they were doing what was best, instead of excluding the "extras" so they could come in at the lowest price. Quality was an A. Shingles were laid very straight. Wood trim was cleanly cut back to provide more space from roof. Attention to detail seemed good. Responsiveness was a B. I had to remind them of one special request I had put into the contract (venting a bathroom fan to the outside). Had I not been home at the time and caught them before they covered up that area, it might have been more difficult to install it after the fact. I would also have liked a little more presence during the job. The foreman, who spoke moderate English, was very courteous and responsive, but the official contact was often not present. Punctuality was an A. They actually came out 2 days prior to the agreed start date to start work. But since I had not agreed to it (could not be at home that day to supervise), they politely left and came back on the day promised. (They did leave a message the evening before to this effect, but I wasn't able to check my voicemail until late that night.) Professionalism was a B. One negative was that there was some minor damage to landscape. All of my tulips were trampled on and ruined for the season. I might have been very concerned had they damaged the more expensive landscaping (bushes). Cleanliness was as to be expected. Due to the way shingles were removed (scraping with flat shovels), staples, nails, and fragments of shingles were occasionally found around the yard for months after the project. But I suspect this is the case with virtually all roofers, and frankly I would not have been willing to pay more for a more "orderly" and time consuming removal of old shingles. The biggest overall positive was their support after the job was finished. Two active leaks, which prompted us to replace our roof in the first place, did not stop with the new roof. They came out and reshingled a certain portion, but that still did not correct the leak. They came out a third time to investigate (soon after we called on a Saturday evening, and right after a storm ended, which was very crucial to figuring out the source). By going into the attic and peeling back some insulation above the suspect roof, it was demonstrated to my satisfaction that the leaks were coming in through our siding and not the roof. So, the leak was no fault of theirs, but the efforts at redoing some shingles and investigating the source was appreciated. They provided an estimate to replace the siding, but we went with another company. In summary, despite the minor issues listed above, I have the feeling that they are one of the better roofing companies around and thus give them an overall A.

I would say it went pretty good. I would use them again without hesitation. There were a few minor issues that they did get corrected. They were responsive to us when issues arose.

Fine, they were neat and speedy. Finished in one day... I did pay a bit more for the replaced wood on roof... But still very reasonable.

I have used their services in the past and I was pleased with the work they did then, so that is the reason why I used them again. They cleaned up very well when they were done and they were very quick with the work.

The overall experience went well. Work was completed in one long day (approx. 10-12 hours). In fact, they called and were able to complete the work a day earlier than expected which I appreciated due to the inclement weather the next day. The roof looks great and they did a good job cleaning up afterward. We had a very minor installation issue with drip edge coloring. While we had never discussed the drip edge color during the estimate process, the crew was directed to install white edging which did not really match the color of the house. When I noticed the white drip edge, I called the job foreman and he promptly took care of the it by bringing out a couple of different colored samples so we could choose. No stoppage of work occurred and everything turned out OK. A decent experience overall and we are happy.

I think they were excellent. They did an excellent job, they were good at cleaning up daily and disposed everything. We were able to check things as they were working. If we had concerns they listened and made sure we were satisfied.

It went just fine. They got the job done in one day and we haven't had any problems since. They did a pretty good job with their clean up minus a few nails here and there. They also did a very good job protecting our foliage on one side of our house.

Awful, just awful. The estimator, Mr Yeary, made a wonderful first impression. He came back with his brother, a co-owner and said they personally would be doing the job. Not true, they sent a kid and a non-English speaking Mexican. First the workman did not show up for three appointments, during which I had stayed home for him. The company responded that he had finished the job and they had the invoice to prove it. He hadn't even been there. I should have fired them right then. When he did show up a later day it was hours after the promised time. Then he said we had been misinformed by his boss, and that there still would be some standing water. The surface material I objected to he assured me would soon shed its loose granules and we'd be able to walk back and forth into the house without tracking. Not close to true. It tracks so badly it is unusable. At his recommendation we then paid extra for materials he said would guarantee no low spots. Still, there are puddles of standing water in new low spots he created. It was getting dark when they finished and I paid him without a detailed examination. Too trusting. The next day to our horror we saw much damage to the siding, downspouts, the material dangling irregularly and ugly, caulk used where torched seams should be, tar streaks in the our new screen door, and burn on the trim of our new sliding door, wiring for a sprinkler rain detector broken and in a heap at the bottom of the downspout, and the list of complaints goes on. After my first complaint, the original workman surprised us with a visit very late in the evening. He said the problem was that our house was old and we needed new siding, on which he blamed his mess. Well, the siding was fine before he came. Weeks later I said I would share this experience with Angie's List, and the other Mr Yeary did come back, acknowledged the mess, and said all the right things about wanting to do right and make us happy, whatever it took. He asked for more time. I agreed. He brought some materials out that clearly were not appropriate due to color and design. He asked for another day to ask around about HOW TO DO THE JOB and I said OK. I've not seen or heard from him since. It's been several weeks when we planned to be using this part of our remodeled house entertain. Instead, it's a continuing unpleasantness, and now not even token promises. In total, there have been eight appointments not kept, and several weeks have gone by while we gullibly believe them. I've asked them not to come back unannounced. Last week, they were here secretly in my absence and did work contrary to my instructions which was unacceptable. While Mr Yeary had promised to replace the ruined screen, for example, someone attempted to clean the tar out of the screen and in so doing jammed it in the track so that now it can't be used. I have tried repeatedly to talk with Mr. Yeary, but get no answer and no reply to left messages. Photos are available.

Went extremely well. I went to their location to look at shingles and they even let me take one home with me to help make my decision. They were able to come out within 3 weeks of my call to them and when I came home from work the day of the project, it looked as if no one had even been there. They had cleaned up after the project so well, could not find any debris left behind. Very happy with the whole process.

Universal Roofing did a fabulous job! I was impressed with the company's service from giving me an estimate to preforming the repair. I would definitely encourage people to use them if they want an excellent price for the job and workers who care about what they are doing. I plan on getting a new roof in a few years for the house they worked on, and know from previous experience that it matters what roofing company you choose to do your work, as water can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time to your structure. This company knows what they doing and has employees who truly care about their work.

They did okay. I was a little confused because there was a language barrier. We had a little trouble communicating. They did okay, but they still haven't finished some of the work. They put a dryer vent on the roof, but it's not not the right type of vent. I'm in limbo because they haven't quite finished.

This was a great fix to a roofing nightmare. We had an incompetent roofer place a NEW roof three years ago. As a result there were no soffit vents and the entire roof and attic rotted off and leaked into the ceiling drywall. These guys came out and fixed the entire roof in the dead of winter and were meticulous and professional. We don't know if they were the cheapest, but they were the best.
