Worked well with my insurance adjuster. Delayed project from November to the following March without a price increase. Completed work in one day. Shingles have survived some bad storms with high winds this past summer, with no damage.

They discovered my roof had hail damage. I turned a claim into to my insurance company but they refused to pay for the hail damage. Rob Yeary met with the claim adjuster and was very professional in explaining the hail damage to the claims representative. Although the insurance company never paid for the damage Rob was very professional, prompt and courteous throughout the process. I would definitely use them again in the future should the need arise.

They did an excellent job. I'm a contractor & I was very impressed with the speed & their ability to stick with their time table - they did exactly what they said they would do when they said they'd do it. They did a beautiful job. The crew was just fantastic. They put a roof on on a 95 degree day & kept their sense of humor & worked until dark to get the job done. I couldn't be more impressed.

The workers showed up a day early. My husband planned to be home the day they came, but since they showed up a day early, he couldn't be here. When he got home that night, he noticed they had broken a weather vane that we had in our front yard by throwing old shingles down on it. He tried to go out and tell them about it first thing the next day, but no one was around at that time who spoke English. They took out our cable, but someone who arrived later in the day told my husband they would be able to fix it before they left. They couldn't fix it, so we had to contact our cable company after we had already been without any service for 2 days. The cable company is going to charge us to come out and fix it since it wasn't their fault, and by the time they can get here, we will have been without cable for a week. When we called the owner to express our concern over this, we had to leave a message and two days later, he still hasn't returned our call. Apparently, we will have to pay for the repair out of our own pocket since we have had no response from him. If we had known that we would have to be without cable due to the roof, we would have delayed our roof replacement until after the Olympics since we are huge fans. Sadly, we will miss half of the coverage of Olympic events. We were never warned by the owner ahead of time that we needed to make arrangements with our cable company at the conclusion of the roof replacement to have our cable re-connected. If he had told us, we would have scheduled it for the day that the roof was completed, rather than being without service for a week. At the very least, the owner could have returned our call. Even though the owner seemed very capable when he came out to give us an estimate, we would not recommend this company after our experience. The owner should have done a better job of informing us about the mishaps that might occur during the roof replacement. While the work crew worked very hard during an unbearable heat wave, and the job itself was completed much faster than we expected, we felt that we had a right to expect better customer service considering the amount of money we paid for our roof. **Update as of 10/1/12: When our concerns were shared with the owner of the company, he made every effort to work with us and get our concerns resolved. As of today, all of our issues have been resolved with the company.

Ron Yeary replaced the roof on a house I sold, I then asked him to put gutter covers on the house my wife and I bought. His crew came out and installed the covers, my wife and I thought all was well. We live in an older neighborhood, so we have mature trees. After the first two heavy rains this spring, our gutters were all overflowing which lead to water leaking through our interior drywall. Some sections of the gutters actually started pulling away from the facia board they were so full of rain water.I called Universal to alert them of the problem. They sent a young employee out, he said the roof was not built properly and needed work. I asked about the cover they installed, he said that wasn't the issue. I asked him if it was standard practice to install the covers without taking downspout screens out. He started looking in the downspouts and said that I should have asked for them to be removed and that wasn't the cause of the wet ceiling in my kitchen. He gave me a price of $500 to fix my problem.I thought about his response and then called the owner, Ron Yeary. Ron came out to the house, he is a very nice guy. He also told me that basically it was my fault for not asking to have the screens removed and that the overflowing gutters were not the source of the problem. He did agree to fix my roof, the damage, and have the gutters fixed.Two months later, no one from Universal Roofing had called or performed any work. I emailed the office, they didn't know what I was talking about. I had two other roofing companies out to look at the "problems" that Universal said caused the leak, both said it was the overflowing gutters pouring rain water onto my lower roof. My last email to their office person went unanswered. I fixed the gutters myself.I would not use Universal for any job again. They are very nice people but are either too busy to respond and act accordingly or are only taking care of projects that produce immediate revenue.

They wrapped the windows really well before installing them, for moisture protection and insect repellant. The attic window had wood above and below it, and they wrapped it in vinyl for future low maintenence. They also took down and replaced two shutters for us. They did a very careful installation. I went out a couple of times to ask questions, and they were very kind in answering me. They very conscious of my home while they were working, and they even cleaned up fingerprints from where they were working. They showed up on time for the appointment, and they were efficient in their work. They went the extra mile to help me, and they even removed a bee's nest. I was relieved it went so nicely!

Everything was fine. They did a nice professional job.

They were really good. The owner was very professional, understanding and considerate. We really appreciated their work and he made it seem not quite so horrible. He also work with the insurance company to help us. They always had a supervisor on site when the work was being done.

Justin came out on behalf of Universal and was incredibly professional and helpful. I would highly recommend them as a business with INTEGRITY.

Very professional and straight forward during the review and estimate procedure. Workers were efficient and finished entire job in one afternoon. Good job on cleanup - only found a dozen or so nails in the yard.

My experience was an "A." The price was excellent compared to others. I would use them again.

If it is work on the shingles, I provide the shingles and they nail them up. They are dependable. They was a time where they had a hard time scheduling, but I am pretty understanding and they do good work.

My wife & I were purchasing a home and the the home inspector noticed some deteriorated shingles on a section of the roof. I called several contractors to give me an estimate on the roof repair and Universal Roofing was the only company who seemed to respect the job & not consider it to small. The staff was great and communication was excellent. They were quick to look at the roof and recommended that I install some box vents to better ventilate the portion of the roof that needed repair. I finally did receive other estimates from a couple other companies and Universal was the best, their estimate was the most thorough and they included the roof vents and the other companies did not. I would highly recommend Universal Roofing, they do good work & when it comes time to install a roof on the whole house I won't hesitate on calling them again.

I would rate them highly. They are punctual and they always return phone calls promptly. The work was done in 8 hours with lots of workers present and they worked efficiently.

Great company to work with. We used them to reroof our home, install new gutters and blow insulation into our attics. Rob was very thorough in explaining what we needed, what would be useful, and what was not necessary in each of those three services. The roofing crew was very conscientious and courteous. They arrived when they said they would and completed the job on time. Universal's price was lower than the other contractors we got bids from. They saved us a lot of money and did a great job.

Two workman showed up @ 8am a few days after my authorization. I came back to the house shortly after they had started work and talked to one of the workers about what they had done, since I could not directly view what they were doing or what they had already done. They spent roughly a half hour on the job. It appeared they had performed the work as prescribed, except that applying clear silicone along the top edges of the glass was not mentioned. I wish Justin had followed up on the work to ascertain all work had been done. Whether or not the repair was successful will depend on performance within the ensuing months under adverse weather conditions.

Originally, they installed the tv dish improperly after they installed my roof. Water seeped underneath the tv dish and caused the wood to rot. They came out and re installed that portion of the roof. It won't happen again because the television repair man came back to reinstalled the tv dish and install the braces properly.

I called Universal Roofing to come out and repair our gutters and caulk our chimney in response to an inspection report from selling our house. Rob inspected the gutters and found no leaks and pointed out that the chimney just had algae on it and it did not need caulking. He did not try and take advantage of the situation and charge me to repair any of the above just because of inspection report said it needed it. In fact, he did NOT charge me anything for the visit or inspection. He is very honest and dependable. I also had Universal clean my gutters six months ago and install gutter guards. The price was a lot less than what I expected. I highly recommend Universal Roofing and would call them again.

They did a good job. They met their commitments. They were good on their clean up. There was a little bit of a discrepancy and they made it right. They came back and made that right. It was nice having somebody who could do the siding in the roof. It was nice to have company who could do both of those competently. They did a great job. There was a small problem with scheduling. We couldn't get them immediately but it took a week or two. We didn't have anything leaking or something like that so there was no problem.

I signed the papers in October and they finally got out here in February. They are going to come back and change the color and I did it because I had so much time to think about it. I did have to change the color once, which was a delay. Their company is right across the border in Illinois, they could've walked it right over here. I don't like being told I'm not important, which is what they said. They said they have a really big job somewhere else. Basically what they said is they have a really big job in Carmel that we are going to do first.

Started out bad and ended up bad. First they said they would be out on a Monday, they called a few days ahead and set another appointment. So after taking off work for this day they called 1 hour before the appointment and canceled again. I again set another appointment just because they had good ratings on Angie's list. Finally a salesman by the name of Shane came out looked over what I needed to be done and said he would have my estimate on Monday. Monday and came and went with no estimate. I called to see if they had one for me and was told I would have it by Tuesday. Today being Tuesday I have finally had enough poor service and going to move on with another roofing company. All things said if you have a small job don't call these guys they will just give you the run around.

They were very professional. Showed up on time. They were great.

They did an awesome job. They are very reliable. They came on time. They are also trust worthy, hardworking, and very easy to communicate with. I would absolutely recommend their services to anyone.

Owner of the Company was very responsive to all calls and requests. Honest and very willing to work with customer.
