One and 1/2 years later, my skylight started leaking so I asked the contractor to look at the skylight to make sure the cladding around the skylight was ok. He told me the work was good but the sky light seal had rotted and the skylight needed to be replaced. He then said his company did not work on skylights. I made 3 appointment with 3 different companies to get estimates to replace the skylight. Each of the 3 contractors told me that the skylight should have been replaced when the roof was shingled and they each told me the cladding could not be replaced without replacing the skylight. I also found out only half of the vent boxes were replaced. They each told me my roofer did not try to match the shingles that were on the other parts of the house. My insurance company has agreed to pay to replace the skylight,as the would have, had they been shown that cladding can not be replaced on my type of skylight. The water damage is not a covered expense because it is considered a new claim. Total Restoration has agree to pay me for the vents they did not replace but I'm left with the unnecessary expense of water damage to my ceiling not to mention a roof that does not match. I have been told that the Insurance company would have paid to replace all shingles had they been told the original shingles could not be matched.
I believe Total Restoration should have told me from the beginning that they did not work on skylights. I believe I should have been told the shingles would not match and I could have rebutted the insurance appraisal. I believe these type of things are included in the trust given to a contractor.
I hope I will not use them in the future but if we have to I will probably use them again.

After talking to our site manager, the delay in communication with you was caused by our site manager and the insurance adjuster being very busy due to the extreme nature of the weather at the time. We always tell our site managers to communicate to both the homeowner and insurance adjuster so pricing between the two are the same.
