We have an Escape 2015 model and routinely goes to this dealer for oil change and maintenance because it is the closest Ford dealer. Once we found the coolant level was very low, and requested during the maintenance appt to have it refilled. After the service, they told us it was refilled and wrote that in the checklist, but when we opened the hood, the coolant level was as low as before the service. This is not the first time they claimed of doing a service they actually didn't. There were two times that they claimed they washed my car but actually didn't. We will never come back to this dealer again.

They wanted to charge me $900 to repair the window. I balked and went to the dealer I purchased the vehicle from, despite having to travel to the Chicago area, and they were very accommodating and repaired it quickly without charge. If you get any estimates from Tom Wood Ford, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with a repair.

I previously took my car in because the car acted as if it wanted to stop. They could not find anything wrong with my car. A month and half later, my car stopped and would not start back up. I had it towed in and they were able to run a diagnostics check and found that my fuel sensor went out. They stated that because the check engine light wasn't on the first time, they were unable to locate the issue. They had my car up and running with in 3 hours.

It went slowly. Very slowly. I had a 3:00 appointment for an oil change for a 24 year old pickup. When I checked in on time, the service director said it typically takes about an hour, but business was slow that afternoon so it would probably take less. They took the truck back right away. At about 4:10 I went up to see how it was going. A different service director who was now responsible for the truck was just standing around when another got his attention for me. He came and explained some things they recommended also having done and asked if I wanted them done that day. I didn't, and he seemed miffed that I would decline. He said it would be just a few more minutes as they finished up and brought the truck around, and directed me back to the waiting room. 20+ minutes later, he came and got me, and then we spent another several minutes checking out. So my complaints are: 1) You had all the information about the truck ready to go before I went up to check on it. You weren't doing anything else at that time. Why was I still waiting and not hearing from you when the work on the truck was finished? 2) It's my truck, not yours, so keep your attitude to yourself when I decline to spend another who-knows-how-long having additional services done that day. 3) Why didn't you check me out when I came up the first time so I could be ready to go when you brought the truck out? There was no additional work to be done on it. A 'few more minutes' turned into nearly another half hour. 4) An oil change, on a not very busy day, with an appointment, should not take nearly 2 hours. 5) While no one was nasty, neither was anyone friendly that I dealt with. This was their chance to make a first impression. It was not a good one. They won't be given an opportunity for a second impression.

The worst was not answering my voice mails, not returning calls, the cost of the repairs. In the last two weeks, it's almost $3000. I'll use them again because they are close by.

This was a great experience!  I have purchased 2 mustangs through Tom Wood Ford, so I decided to bring my 2014 in to see if I could upgrade to the 2016.  I didn't want my payment to go up much, if at all, so this was more of an exploratory appointment.
My salesman, Josh, was very professional.  He greeted me at the door and asked me what I needed help with, but he wasn't overbearing or pushy.  I work in sales myself, and I think that Josh exemplifies the characteristics necessary to be a good salesperson these days.  His listened to my needs and was never pushy.  I told him that I was considering trading up but that I needed the numbers to make sense, so before he tried to build hype into the product, he ran the numbers for me.  It turned out that there was no way that it would make good financial sense, and Josh didn't push me to make a bad decision! He wanted me to be happy overall, and I couldn't appreciate that more.  His great customer service skills have cemented me as a Tom Wood customer indefinitely.  It's so refreshing to work with a salesman that valued my long-term satisfaction over making a quick buck.
Please hire more salespeople like Josh!  He is the type of car salesman who goes against the mold and brings some good credit back to that profession.

I have always been distrustful of dealer repair shops, but the tom wood repair shop has change my view. They are professional courteous and explain the issue and multiple corrective actions at different price levels to correct. Trey Scruggs was great to work with.

It was a lemon. Although I leased it, within the first 2100 miles, they had to replace the transmission. Tom Kashman, is a horrible service manager. He refused to have the car fixed, and he refused to have actual warranty work to fix the brakes. The rotors were making noise and under Ford's warranty, more should be replaced and he refused to take care of the car so I had to take it to Andy Mohr which they actually stepped up and took care of everything. It was all under warranty with Ford. He treated me very poorly as a customer. I would never recommend taking any vehicle to a Tom Wood Ford dealership or purchasing from them. It's very, very bad taste. They even refused to take the car back at that location. I had to return the lease at a different Ford store because they didn't want anything to do with me or that car because I complain to them constantly about the product. As a matter of fact, that was why we are going to Angie's List, it's because of Tom Wood Ford and the review that we were going to put on to defend ourselves. We joined the State fair a year ago. They were going to charge me $500 to replace those brakes when they were actually under warranty. I refused to pay for the service that I had been told was a warranty issue. It actually was replaced under warranty and then it started making the same issues, and they wouldn't replace it again. This issue that was wrong with the transmission was across the board, but they were only replacing them under TFB Ford taxis. Ford refused to fix it for their customers. That's why Tom Wood refused to get another transmission or even look at it. They actually told me to leave their lot. They told me I wasn't welcome back. Their service prices are a little exorbitant. I would call and he would say he had a car and I would call in and pick the car and they kept pushing me off. It took 67 days for the vehicle to be fixed originally. At this point, the vehicle is no longer in my possession. It had just gone on. It had gotten hired and hired, forgotten, and moved on, but I would like fellow Angie's List members to know that it is not a good place to have their vehicle serviced.

INTERIM REVIEW


We took our 2005 Thunderbird in for routine service on July 3rd and noticed damage to the front of the vehicle when we got it home; this car is in pristine condition.  We are still trying to resolve the issue. 


We have left numerous messages with several people, including Tom Wood, and they don't return our calls.

I think that Tom Wood Ford service is one of the best things about Indianapolis, and I mean that in the most sincere way. We have been customers since 2004 and have purchased two cars with them. In the service department, I always feel well-advised.  We have had emergency help as well as scheduled maintenance  and always with kindness and expert service. I have observed others in the waiting room who are also treated with equal kindness and concern. I really appreciate the high quality of performance.

The dealer told me I was buying a  car that was new with a "handful of miles on it" and the drive from another dealer (approx 100 miles). At the closing, I expected mileage of 120- 130 miles on the car but the car mileage was almost 800 miles.This suggests an uncertain usage for two months and they had no explaination for the usage. I requested  a followup price adjustment for the mileage and the unknown usage of the car but they only offered a very token amount.
Also, the rep who handled the closing documents was very friendly at first and then pitched an expensive extended warranty which I twice declined. He then became very curt and very rude during the rest of the meeting.
I would not recommend the dealer.
