He does most of what we need, including snow service.  He's kind of a one-stop shop. There's always a lot of turnover with the crew.  I know those companies really struggle.  They find it very hard to get anybody that will work every year and stay with them for a long period of time. So they need to improve the consistency. They have good values.  Sometimes he's hard to get a hold of.

They did an exceptional job with my lawn this year.  Chris made extra effort to use smaller lawn equipment when needed to improve quality of grass cutting.  I appreciate their attention to detail and Chris' responsiveness to emails and requests.

Aside from regular lawn maintenance I receive from the company, I recently had a need for several one-time landscape jobs.  This had to do with tearing off a tangled and overgrown vine from the pergola, re-shaping and adding sod to the circular area around a newly planted tree, plus digging out an overgrown lilac bush & roots...replacing it with a large hydrangea.  There were some other minor tasks in addition, such as adding extra fill-dirt to a washed-out area near the foundation. The three employees arrived as scheduled and could not have done a better or cleaner job, working diligently for almost 4 hours. Great attitudes too. Couldn't be more pleased.

My yard is pretty small so typically I do the mowing myself but unfortunately my lawn mower conked out. When I was on my way down the street to borrow one from my neighbor, I saw Chris leaving another job and flagged him down to see if he could come by and do our yard. He was able to squeeze me and my next door neighbor in within just a couple of days (which I was so thankful for because my grass was getting very tall!)  We got the grass cut right before our landlord's visit so the timing was perfect. I just found someone else off the list to repair my mower, so hopefully I will be back on track to do my own grass but if not, I'd definitely use this company again.

We have been happy.

I came home today to a pleasant surprise!  My first experience with Thomas Lawn and Landscape, INC mowing and trimming my yard.  The yard looks GREAT!  I wasn't expecting them until tomorrow due to the rain over the weekend.  It is great to come home to such a nice surprise.  Very pleased with Chris Thomas and his crew who have been doing my fertilizing and weed prevention for over a year; and now I have decided to have them cut my grass too.  Happy with my choice!  Thank you so much!  Now I have time to work on my gardens.

As soon as I contacted them, they were extremely professional and customer oriented. The phone was often answered by a friendly staff member or if I left a VM, Chris, the owner, would return my call within a very timely owner. The lawn work was very good quality. The billing was done via email, which I loved. I was very impressed with the way Chris runs the company and will definitely recommend them to anyone.

We use him throughout the year. We are very pleased. We have used his service for about four years. Chris really wants his customers to be happy. He even sends out surveys to our emails to make sure we are satisfied and to give suggestions on what he can improve on.

I had contacted Thomas Lawn and Landscape in the Spring of 2013 for an estimate on a lawn care plan. We also were interested in repairing a corner of our property where the city had dug up our lawn and dozens of hostas (without any warning or consent) and left a huge pile of dirt. While Mr. Thomas was out to my house, I discovered that they also do landscaping, so I showed him a fenced courtyard area that I was interested in having re-landscaped. I told him our budget was under $10,000.00 but that it shouldn't really be a problem to accomplish something interesting with that amount of money. He did send an estimate for lawncare although by the time he sent it, the time for first treatment had already passed, so we signed up for the remaining 5 treatments instead of 6. I sent him a check for $270.00 the same day. His plan for repairing our damaged area was inadequate, as it involved filling in the area with 5 hostas (where literally dozens had been before the city destroyed them), so I declined the proposal and went with another company for that part of the project. Weeks and weeks reeled by with nothing happening until I finally called the company back and it turned out they didn't even have me on the schedule for lawn treatment and showed no record of my having paid. Eventually they found my check and everything was rectified. I met in person with Mr. Thomas a second time regarding the courtyard (as he had not yet done anything whatsoever with that plan), and he never did get back to me, while I waited for another month for his proposal. I'm frankly baffled that $10,000.00 apparently wasn't enough of a draw for him to even bother calling me back. Exasperated at all the wasted time, I again wound up just giving up on this company as regards the courtyard. The lawn care has been dismal. I believe I might actually have more weeds in my lawn than I did before this company started treatment. Because I have a highly visible location on Meridian Street, which gets a lot of both foot and automobile traffic, I have an interest in keeping the lawn up to snuff, but this company has completely dropped the ball. There is even one stretch of grass between the sidewalk and the street which has apparently received no treatment whatsoever, because it is almost 100% weed. Once this summer I went out there myself with a sprayer to try to rectify the situation. The latest development is that I've just received a bill for the most recent treatment even though I'm prepaid for the year. I had originally contacted this company because I had seen some remarkable lawns on Pennsylvania and saw a sign for Thomas Lawn. Unfortunately, they didn't bring my lawn anywhere near that level. In the past I've had much better results with TruGreen, and I'll probably be going back to them. If I could put a sign in my lawn, it would surely read "Weeds are courtesy of Thomas Lawn and Landscape."

They are a very hard working crew, that is always concerned with our satisfaction. We had some actual landscaping done during the summer that exceeded our expectations.

Great job. Love the edging with the trimmer. The edge of our lawn next to the driveway looks like it's had a great haircut. Very even and the angle is just right.

Leaf Removal: Starting in Dec 2009 and every December since, I have had Thomas Lawn and Landscape remove the massive amount of leaves from the large number of mature trees on my lot. A couple of years they have had to return the next day to finish the job since the place where they can empty their truck had closed for the day. They returned the next day as promised (even while it was snowing in Dec 2010) and completed the job. They are very efficient and get what seems to be every single leaf. Lawn Care: Starting in the Spring of 2011, I have had Thomas Lawn and Landscape mow and fertilize my lawn. They do an excellent job, mowing different patterns so as not to create those awful looking mowing lines that you see on some lawns. Their weed control is excellent. I have not had more than a handful of those aggravating dandelions at the edge of my lot since then.Landscaping: I have now engaged them to so some landscaping to increase the curb appeal of my home. I am looking forward to the trimming, weeding, and mulching that they will do in the next couple of weeks.

Great company - reliable, quality work, quick. He's been cutting our lawn for 2 years now and this year we added fertilizing/weed control. We have zero weeds in our yard!

Everything went great. He asked if I had any special instructions for him or needed additional work done. He will be taking care of my lawn in the coming weeks. Very prompt, professional and flexible to your individual needs.

They did a pretty good job the first couple of times, but then the bills came and they wanted to be paid in advance for each month - whether there was dry weather and even if the lawn may not need to be cut, still wanted to be paid up front for one month. Eventually I got a note from them stating they wouldn't be cutting my lawn any longer. Quality was ok, but reliability was pretty bad. I have never had a lawn company that wanted to be paid in advance each month. Price was per cut.

He has done our lawn/yard maintenance for 7 years (snow removal, mowing, leaf removal, Christmas decorations, mulching, bushes, tree trimming, etc.). He is very reliable and his prices are modest. Very responsive. He really tries to please and always checks to make sure he is doing a great job and we are very pleased with him. He always checks the yard for toys, etc. and is very conscientious and makes sure my kids are safe if they are outside when he comes to do the work. He also does the maintenance on our neighborhood entrances and as the President of the association, I've never received a complaint on his work.

CHRIS THOMAS IS THE PRESIDENT OF THOMAS LAWN SERVICE. HE HAD HIS LAWN PROFESSIONALS COME AND MOW OUR YARD, THEY FORGOT THE SIDE YARD. CHRIS CALLED US BACK AFTER I WROTE ON INVOICE THAT THEY HAD FORGOTTEN TO DO THE SIDE YARD, AND HE WENT AHEAD AND GAVE US A FREE MOWING AGAIN THE NEXT WEEK FOR FREE. VERY PROFESSIONAL, HE JUST CONTINUES TO PROVIDE US WITH QUALITY SUPPORT.

HE HAD TO GRADE A LARGE AREA, ABOUT 1/4 OF AN ACRE. HE TILLED THE SOIL AND PUT DOWN NEW TOP SOIL AND WE'VE USED HIM REGULARLY FOR LAWN MOWING, TRIM SHRUBBERY IN THE SPRING AND FALL. WE'VE USED HIM FOR 6 YEARS. HE'S VERY RELIABLE AND PERSONABLE.
