Very well and I hired him again. In all, he ground out over 30 large and small stumps and roots.

AWESOME!! After pulling multiple quotes from other companies, I came across the Stump Machine here and initially almost overlooked it because it says he's not insured. After reading very good reviews I went to the website listed and not only does it say he's insured (called and verified), he also offers both senior and military discounts. Chris answered my call and was very responsive when it came to looking at both stumps involved. He laid out a game plan which included renting a bigger chainsaw than he normally carries and was able to start working on it a couple days later when the rain let up. Like any plan though once it's executed it can sometimes go out the window. :) Did I mention how monstrous my stump alone was?? The chainsaw he rented was crap so he ended up having to grind most of it which left heaping piles. Unfortunately for Chris once he had to switch to plan B it took more of his time and had to come out over a few days but he always called to give me updates and apologized for the daily messes. Every day he hauled off as much as his trailer could hold but it still took some time as it was a mountain of mulch. Because of the proximity of the stump to my house (it literally touched my back deck) and Chris having to grind the whole thing, he did end up knicking a couple deck boards but he offered to knock some price off or replace them so I had him replace the boards and he did a fantastic job. Overall I'm still ecstatic to have the stumps gone and his customer service was solid. I would definitely hire him/recommend him to anyone looking as his quotes were very reasonable compared to others. We ended up giving him a solid tip because of his dedication and interaction, especially since it was during the hottest part of the summer.

Chris arrived and ground up the stumps in a timely manner. All went well.

Was referred to this company by my neighbor. Called to obtain an estimate and possible tree removal. Had to leave a voicemail. I never received a call back.

Chris was great - he was so responsive - showed up within a few days of my initial phone call. He worked hard and our yard looks great!

I emailed Chris to get a quote for grinding down several stumps we had. He replied the next day with a ballpark estimate, but said he'd need to view the stumps in-person to give an accurate estimate. We had him out the following day, and he brought his equipment. We thought his price was fair, so he performed the work right then. We are very pleased and would use his services again.

It went great. He worked all day until the job was done. I'm very pleased. Would call him every time.

Chris gave us a quote over the phone for the removal of 2 stumps and included the Angies discount as shown above. Had to repair his equipment before coming which caused a delay but not big problem. He had the right equipment for the job and even cut the two stumps clear to the ground before starting the removal process because the prior contractor had not cut them low enough. No fussing or issue over "fixing" the prior work. He just did it an moved on with the job. He cut well below ground level for us so we can replant trees in the same spot, cleaned up his mess and took away the chips, and finished up in about 2 hours. He has a friendly manner and is easy to work with. Charged exactly what he said it would cost on the over the phone estimate and even took a check. He does small tree cutting and brush clearing which we may use him for in the future.

I was having difficulty with someone coming out to complete the job. I called Chris he came right out and gave an estimate. He was going to come back right away and complete the job. There was a lot of rain and it made it difficult to complete the task. He came over on his day off and completed the work. He really went out of his way to complete the job. He was professional and very nice. He cleaned up after the work was complete. He did an overall great job.

I ended up hiring someone else before I received his quote, but he was extremely courteous in both of my interactions with him.

He was a little late, but was pulling the drive when I called him. I showed him the stumps and then he got to work right away. Overall I was pleased with the work.

Chris was wonderful from start to finish. He came out to give me an estimate of the work the same day I called. His estimate was so reasonable I kept finding other things I wanted him to do. Even though we experienced a few delays in scheduling the actual work, Chris communicated with me by phone and kept be apprised of what was going on. I found him to be extremely professional, polite, and efficient and would not hesitate to use him in the future or recommend him to friends.

I called Chris Saturday morning to get an estimate on removing a stump in my front yard. He said he could be there in about two hours and he showed up as expected. His price was right in range with what I had budgeted for the job and he started the removal process immediately. He was done in very little time, raked and cleaned up the debris and at my request placed some of the mulch in my flower bed. He was kind, courteous and professional. Great experience!

He came out, showed him what I wanted done, he left, I left he came back I was at work. It went well.When I came back he wasn't done but it was good because I wanted to see what he was doing, I was very pleased, he cleaned up afterward. He was very reasonably priced for the work he did.

Prompt response to call. Came out for a detailed quote. Came out on time for the job and completed ahead of schedule. Easy to work with and stuck around for some difficult clean up and brush removal. Live in a heavily wooded and will recommend to neighbors looking for stump removal.

Called back same day and was able to come out that afternoon. Did a great job. Fast and cleaned up the area very nicely.

Chris was very prompt and curtious. He ground out 3 stumps and a lot of exposed roots on my property. He did a great job and offered the extra root grinding for free. He did clean a majority of the debris but I spent my weekend cleaning the rest of it, grading the dirt, and planting grass. This is probably common for most stump grinding services. I tried planting a tree over one of the original stumps and there was some of the root ball present. I called Chris and he is on his way to fix the problem. Very pleased with the experience.

Graded "B" on punctuality only because a machine breakdown caused the job to be completed a week after starting. Chris was polite and professional over phone and in person. I got four quotes and his quote was competitive. Chris began work on scheduled day. Almost half way through the job, a lever on the machine broke which limited the mobility of movement. He called parts supplier immediately to order part, with hopes to return to complete job in next 1-2 days. A week later, the machine was not yet fixed, so Chris rented a machine to come finish the job, which was done within 2 hours. Chris apologized for the inconvenience and appreciated that I was understanding. He used a leaf blower to blow stray chips back onto the chip pile so there were only a few chips scattered in the yard. Before hiring a contractor, I considered renting a stump grinder and doing the job myself. After watching Chris work - how to approach the job and use of the machine, I'm glad I contracted the job out. I noticed a couple of nice safety practices that Chris used. Upon arriving, he placed orange cones in the front and back of his truck and trailer. He used construction noise cancelling headphones while operating the machine.

He was great, but I wish he would have told me to close the windows when he ground the stump because dust got in the house.
