"First of all, we find this to be an unfortunate situation and our attitude is always to know truth of any situation, in life and in business. We understand that each person has a perspective. But with this situation the truth was ignored- We did attempt to mitigate this situation. But was met with assumptions by the client that were absolutely NOT true. The client was resistant and disconnected to hearing us, and chose to take the position to NOT receive our expertise to inform her of the reality of the hidden and unforeseen problem that was met by the TECH; and the tech was absolutely qualified for the service performed. Our company came there to solve a problem NOT to create one. We also take issue with the other plumbing service companies that followed up, and that the client took their opinion but would NOT listen to us. We discovered that the kitchen had been remodeled or updated and that it was NOT done by a licensed professional, nor performed under a permit or inspection, and also that best practices or code compliance were NOT used in the use of the plumbing fitting installation.[We were NOT a part of this remodel] Basically, an unskilled handyman or home owner performed this pre-existing drainage work. Thus, a drainage problem occurred in the drain [blockage] setting up any tech for a greater hidden issue that was behind finish floor and drywall- NO one could see this drainage configuration because it was hidden. The follow up companies held back this information because they did NOT bother to truly investigate. They didn't even recognize [before their eyes] the violation of the fitting installation and inform the client which is a requirement of a professional. This information was imperative and should have been a part of the conversation towards a solution. But the client shut us out and wanted to hand us a bill for us to blindly pay. We are an Angie's List Super Service Award company. Did we all of the sudden decide NOT to be? There is an honesty, a quality, and a craftsmanship to be at a level to receive the award. These things are who we are. Why did we NOT respond when this first happened? We would NOT respond to someone who would NOT listen to us and chose to ONLY listen to what benefited them. We wanted to work together with the client- we had important information but the client ignored the truth and who was truly responsible for the kitchen drain problem in the first place. Now it’s been 5 years and we are still a 5 Star and A rated company-strong in business with a resume of excellence and solving problems for the people of Central Indiana. We are NOT arrogant- We are people that care. But who has warm fuzzies when being shut out and lied about? We are addressing this because we have had an enormous outcry from our clients that they want to give us A ratings on Angie's List because of our caring business model. We have NOT hidden this situation from any of our clients of why, they or others, can NOT find us on Angie's List. The plumbing industry is notorious for using fear of lost services and health at risk situations to take advantage of people. We and others are fighting that for Hoosiers. The Truth: The Plumber protects the health of the Nation! It is the way."
When I came home that night and spoke with my father-in-law about how unprepared, unprofessional and unable to plumb the plumber was we decided to go with another company immediately. We had another plumber come out that night, as the problem was worsening, and in colder weather the clean out cap was able to be removed, miraculously. Since then we have had the other plumber do a considerable amount of work for us and we are happy with their service...
As for Cindy and the folks from the Plumbing Company, we received an invoice on 1/29 to pay the $100 for nothing. Yesterday, February 2nd, I received another text message saying I had received the invoice. Today I received a call from Cindy asking when I would pay the $100. As we just bought the home and immediately had a gigantic plumbing overhaul within three months, money has been a little tight. I asked if we could pay it in four $25 installments, since again, it was for nothing. I was told by Cindy that "we have been kind for too long. We need the $100 right now". She informed me how accommodating they had been, generously deciding not to bill my "relative" on the day of the service and how they needed the money immediately (On the day of service we were told that they would have to check with the HSA to see if the visit was covered, so generosity didn't come into play with this decision, logistics did). Still, we pay our bills, so I asked again if we could pay them in installments. Cindy became very unprofessional with me and informed me that they could put our HSA on hold and we'd "lose our Home Warranty" for failure to pay. She informed me that she has done this to "many" homeowners, shedding light on the fact that this seems to happen quite often. When I asked her what exactly we were paying for, since we accommodated them and their inability to schedule an appointment for us, as well as their inability to pop the cap off of our clean out, she reminded me that they couldn't because of the weather. When I said that someone came out later that evening and was able to do what they couldn't she told me, in all seriousness, that the temperature was 40 degrees warmer that night. Had she consulted any weather reporting agency she would clearly see that it hasn't been 50 degrees all year. Within an hour I received a call from a representative of our HSA who asked me why I had refused to pay for the services I had solicited. I was told that Cindy informed the HSA that I had the invoice for over a month and refused to pay (not true). I was told that the HSA would pay the Plumbing Company and that they would put it on hold. I informed the HSA agent that these were untruths and was told they'd figure it out with Cindy. As of now I haven't heard back. We called Cindy back and were hung up on.
All in all I would not recommend this company for any reason and am at a loss as to why the HSA even uses them. They started out pleasantly enough, but quickly became unprofessional, threatening, and now bordering on harassing. We are dealing with the HSA and will never be contacting this company again for any reason.
it. Reinstalled toilet. Showed me the toothbrush. Tested. Everything OK.
They are our plumbers from here on out and we recommend them to anyone that asks!
Overall, customer service and communication were not the best.
Great expreience overall. They will be our plumbing company from now on!
Thanks to all of you!
I was VERY pleased with the bill. The charge was unbelievably competitive for standard service throughout normal business hours but this service that was preformed after hours and into the holiday was a 70% less than another company that quoted the job. I guess there are still a few people in the world that still believes in making an and quot;honestand quot; buck. I have a plumber for life!! I look forward to some very near project that will involve this company. Thanks for the great service!
I called one highly rated plumber, and was told that I would have to wait for a couple of days. I called the second one onthe list given to me onver the phone. The llady who answered the phone explained the time, and the costs. I was thrilled that she believed that the firm would have someone on that day come to take care of the stuck garbage disposal.
At about 5:00 th eplumber arrived. He asked a few questions, proceeded to check out the problem, found th epenny, removed the penny, and the garbage sidposer had been fine since.
