The dogs liked the peanut butter treat and the soft blanket on the examination table. The doctor treated each dog as a cherished family member. The attention to care from the doctors and staff has been wonderful and consistent for all the years we have taken our dogs here (15 years). Your pets will be in loving and caring hands at the Paw Patch Place.
It's hard for me to comment on price, since we were utilizing our pet insurance. Dr. Lindsley was helpful in getting that information submitted to our insurance.
"We pride ourselves on client communication here at The Paw Patch Place. The pet and his owner were personally checked in by the Veterinarian doing the dental procedure the morning of the appointment. The estimate was gone over and the owner was advised because of the amount periodontal disease (tarter and infection) the number of teeth needing to be extracted could not be determined until the pet was anesthetized. A contact phone number and signature were obtained. After the tarter and infectious debris were removed from the teeth, each tooth root was probed with a metal dental probe to determine if the tooth was still firmly attached to the tooth socket. Sadly 14 tooth roots were no longer viable and had to be removed to prevent future pain and infection. As soon as the pet was safely recovering from the anesthesia, several attempts were made to contact the client at the phone number we were given that morning. We were finally able to contact the other owner at a phone number we had on file. We explained that their pet was recovering well and what had needed to be done. We were below the cost estimate given that morning and they were not charged for the 2 teeth that fell out when the tarter was removed. In the evening one of our veterinary technicians went over all of the discharge instructions with the client picking up the pet. The client signed a copy of the written instructions verifying that we had gone over everything and he had no questions. We called the next day and left a message to check to see how our patient was doing. We are sorry this client was unhappy with the extent of his beloved pets dental disease but are pleased we were able to successfully remove the “root” of the problem."
My wife elected to have some additional tests done and they didn't prescribe sentinel as a preventative, which is what we have used in the 5 years we've had our dog. The price was a little expensive compared to other Vets we used around the area. Overall, the service outweighed the increase in price and they are located right in the heart of SoBro so we will be using them again.
