They're excellent and have a no fear room to calm the pets down. The food they have recommended have made her greatly improving. We would highly recommend them and they are very thorough. We would definitely go to them again.

She is an holistic vet. She looks at not just using normal brand name products, but other things. Looks at the dog at an holistic view. She is a member of the veterinarian organization that uses calming practices in their practice. It is like aroma therapy for animals, but they have a specific kind of music, temperature, the textures that are in the rooms. The smells in the rooms. They do all of this to help calm them when they come in.

Excellent service. Listened to our concerns and explained procedures as she went along checking each dog. Weights were taken then the physical exam from head to tail.  Blood work was next followed by yearly injection.  Dental cleaning for all was recommended and scheduled.  Heart worm medication for six months/dog was purchased.
The dogs liked the peanut butter treat and the soft blanket on the examination table. The doctor treated each dog as a cherished family member.  The attention to care from the doctors and staff has been wonderful and consistent for all the years we have taken our dogs here (15 years).  Your pets will be in loving and caring hands at the Paw Patch Place.

This is such a great practice! We noticed that out 11 year old cat was having trouble going to the bathroom Friday evening, so we called The Paw Patch and left them a message asking if we could get an early morning appointment for the next day (they were already closed for the evening when we called). They returned our call first thing in the morning at 8am when they opened, and told us we could bring him right in. We were told that he had some bowels stuck, and that they would be able to help him pass them in a matter of hours. Just an hour later, we received a call from the doctor who told us he had passed them, and we could come pick him up. She was able to help us on cost by recommending an over the counter medication we could give him regularly instead of an expensive prescription med we had been prescribed a couple of years ago by another vet when he had a similar problem. Overall, a very good experience, and we will continue to see them in the future.

They don't try to push and give a different options. Most of the staff we know and since my dog has a behavioral issues it helps a lot there.

We adopted a five-year old dog from a humane society in January 2015.  We took him to Dr. Dowden for a check-up right away (first visit, no charge).  (We were sent here on the recommendation of a neighbor, so we haven't compared prices to other vets.) The doctor answered our many questions and recommended healthy foods since we are new dog owners. She also showed us that his teeth needed attention, which we could discuss when we came back in April for his rabies shot. We took him in for his teeth cleaning and were given a detailed estimate of work to be done and the cost. Everyone there is helpful and they try to answer our many questions.

I think they are fantastic.  I have been going there for years.  They are very responsive to questions.  They are pretty fairly priced compared to other vets in the area.  They are very flexible as possible as they can.  It’s easy to get in and schedule an appointment.

Dr. Lindsley was fantastic! My pup had an unusual lump on the side of his neck. We did a series of min-tests to figure out what was wrong. Eventually, we decided to go ahead and have the mass removed. Every step of the way, Dr. Lindsley was transparent about price, her recommendations, etc. Additionally, she was great about calling me personally for updates and to clarify questions I had. My dog loves Dr. Lindsley.
It's hard for me to comment on price, since we were utilizing our pet insurance. Dr. Lindsley was helpful in getting that information submitted to our insurance.

They do a nice job! Penny Dowden makes you feel well taken care of. She discusses everything in detail and everything always goes very smoothly. They keep up on things and treat my pet very well every visit. I am very happy with them, the office is always very clean and I will be taking my pet there again.

I brought my dog there in the past for an annual vaccine shot. They told me that my dog needs a dental cleaning, which I agreed with. I really like these people. I got long relationships with them. They know me, and they greet me by name when I walk in. They always do their best, and try to keep the prices down. They are animal loving and friendly. They have a clean environment. I love them.

We got their service 2 years ago, that's when my dog died. They were reasonably priced. It was always a good place. They were friendly people and my dog never received a holler by anyone so, the dog didn't complain either.

We got an appointment for the same day when we realized a prescription our dog needs had run out. I took her in and the vet looked her over. She said she was in great health and was surprised by how clean her teeth were considering it had been longer for a cleaner than they usually recommend. Our dog had her shots so we could renew her rx. The only problem we encountered was that we usually use 1-800-pet meds for rx and the vet won't allow us to use them anymore. They have their own service and said they thought petmeds wasn't getting good quality rx or it wasn't possible to guarantee they were. So I used the vets service and they price matched, except for coupons. Slightly more work but we like the vet so we got over it.

Horrible. They did not even instruct on how to rinse out the mouth. They just gave us care sheet for the extraction. No information on how much salt to put into the water. I had to go online to find out.
Response from The Paw Patch Place
"We pride ourselves on client communication here at The Paw Patch Place. The pet and his owner were personally checked in by the Veterinarian doing the dental procedure the morning of the appointment. The estimate was gone over and the owner was advised because of the amount periodontal disease (tarter and infection) the number of teeth needing to be extracted could not be determined until the pet was anesthetized. A contact phone number and signature were obtained. After the tarter and infectious debris were removed from the teeth, each tooth root was probed with a metal dental probe to determine if the tooth was still firmly attached to the tooth socket. Sadly 14 tooth roots were no longer viable and had to be removed to prevent future pain and infection. As soon as the pet was safely recovering from the anesthesia, several attempts were made to contact the client at the phone number we were given that morning. We were finally able to contact the other owner at a phone number we had on file. We explained that their pet was recovering well and what had needed to be done. We were below the cost estimate given that morning and they were not charged for the 2 teeth that fell out when the tarter was removed. In the evening one of our veterinary technicians went over all of the discharge instructions with the client picking up the pet. The client signed a copy of the written instructions verifying that we had gone over everything and he had no questions. We called the next day and left a message to check to see how our patient was doing. We are sorry this client was unhappy with the extent of his beloved pets dental disease but are pleased we were able to successfully remove the “root” of the problem."

My wife took our small/medium sized Jackapoo for an annual checkup. I was unable to attend the appointment but my wife felt very comfortable and they treated our dog like a king. The customer service there was top notch. I spoke to them over the phone to set up the appointment and talked to them during their follow up. They were very helpful and pleasant to talk to over the phone.

My wife elected to have some additional tests done and they didn't prescribe sentinel as a preventative, which is what we have used in the 5 years we've had our dog. The price was a little expensive compared to other Vets we used around the area. Overall, the service outweighed the increase in price and they are located right in the heart of SoBro so we will be using them again.

Dr. Shauna Lindsley and the staff at the Paw Patch are always friendly and really good with our pet. They are a little high on price but we have always been pleased with the quality of service and continue to take our pets there for just that reason.

Won't go back. They charge $30 in advance for a stool specimens as part of the annual exam. They give you a container to return. I didn't ever do it, so I paid $30 for a test that was never done. This morning I took a urine sample in for a re test. $55, which I think is outrageous in the first place, but then they would not credit the $30 for a test they never did. Just not right.
