Hi! My name is Tony. I started Thatcher Painting years ago to make an honest living doing something I love. From the beginning, my goal was to give the very best service and make it affordable to home owners and real estate investors. With a lot of hard work, determination and years of experience, that is exactly what I've been able to do. Thatcher Painting is a small family owned and run company with a small staff of highly skilled painting, staining and drywall repair experts. All of our painters have 15 plus years of custom residential painting experience. We are fast, neat and always professional. We have all the right tools, knowledge and experience to give you the very best paint job for your money period! I do all the bids and price quotes personally and I am on EVERY job doing much of the work myself. I don't sub-contract work to lesser qualified painters. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. A neighbor told us about him and said he did great work. We hired him to paint some rooms in our rental property, to prepare for new tenants. He started work, and after the first day, we noticed that he had not done any prep work on the walls - no hole filling, sanding, or even cleaning. When my wife brought it up, he claimed that it wasn't in the "bid" - a handwritten list of things he intended to do. We thought prep was customary for a paint job. That was the first conflict. The next conflict arose when the carpet installers came a day early. Thatcher said he had to be alone in the house in order to work. We thought it that was unreasonable; there were several projects to be done on a strict timeline. We said we would tell the carpet installers to stay out of a room he was working in, but that wasn't good enough and he refused to work for two days. When he came back, my wife pointed out some issues with a ceiling he had painted, and brought the lack of prep to his attention again. He said he was afraid we would not pay him, and demanded to be paid for the work he'd done so far...plus $15/hr to fix the mistakes he had made! My wife didn't want to have to find another painter, so she paid him a little over half of what she had agreed to pay him for the full job. Over the next few days, he harassed my wife on Facebook and via text message, saying she had told him not to do any prep work before he started, and that she was trying to get extra work done. I stepped in and called to ask if he intended to come back and finish the work. After half an hour of criticizing my wife and refusing to work with her again, he finally agreed to return and work for one more day. I agreed to pay him the balance of the estimate when the work was done. The next evening, I went to check on his progress. He had spread drywall mud all over the walls in one of the bedrooms, making a polka dot pattern on all four walls. Many of the smears were not over holes; the walls were just randomly daubed with mud. On a built in cabinet that he had neglected to sand before painting, there were deep gouges and curls of wood, like he took a chisel to it. Finally, there was a puddle of urine in the kitchen. I immediately called him, then texted him, then Facebook messaged him, saying that I wanted an explanation of the condition in which he had left our property. He never responded. We feel that he vandalized our property in a fit of anger. We had to change the locks and hire another contractor to repair the damage and finish the rooms Thatcher never even started. I thought our experience was unique until I saw another review here, in which his attitude is documented similarly. Maybe he has a problem with women pointing out his mistakes. Regardless, this man created many more problems than he was hired to fix. One more thing - when he was harassing my wife, he threatened to complain to the health department that we had undisclosed black mold. We have since inspected the entire property and found nothing. So either he painted over black mold instead of telling us where it was so we could remediate it, or he lied.

This is our second time Tony has painted our house as we had a change of heart about the color. The first time he had our 2500+sq ft house completely painted in 3 days. He did an amazing job this time and the last time. He arrives promptly on time, uses precision and detail to perfection, and takes his time to make sure the job is done correctly. Tony has done such an amazing job I have recommended him to all of our friends and family!

Tony did an awesome job painting our home. He not only painted, but did the trim, repaired the drywall and corrected any imperfections on the walls. He paints as if it was his own home. It was worth every penny!

Tony did an AMAZING job!! I am glad I called him to do the job. I had another painter come to paint a room that he screwed up but Tony was able to make it look nice!! You can tell he takes pride in his as it speaks for itself. The edges were neat and clean and was able to get it done in one day! I would highly recommend Tony for any paint jobs.

Tony took on the large job of painting the entire house 2 coats. He was prompt, polite, professional, and did a top notch job. They cleaned up every night and then cleaned up well at the end of the project.

I refer all my clients to him and all of them have had great feedback on him. He is dependable and shows up. I trust him in my house when I am not there. He is trustworthy and his prices are affordable. I would use him again in the future. He's probably done about fifteen drops in a year.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Tony came and gave me a very reasonable estimate. He and his crew were punctual, professional, talented and courteous and did much more work than they contracted to do without charge. The painting they did was excellent and they completely cleaned up the work area before they left. The work took a little longer than expected yet they did not raise the negotiated price. Tony took great pride in his work and went above and beyond my expectations. I have hired dozens of companies over the years and Thatcher painting is by far one of the best. This is a top notch company and a pleasure with which to do business. I will recommend them to all of my friends.

We contacted Tony about our painting and he was actually able to give us a quote via email, with us providing the dimensions of the areas we needed painted. He gave us a quote that we thought was a very good price and was also able to come out that very same weekend - which in our case was a big plus because we wanted all the painting done before our floors got put in upstairs. Tony and another man showed up on time and with all of their materials. They got to work right away. We used a neutral color for most of the space except we did have an accent wall in our master bedroom with a red paint (which they had to do 3 coats of!). The paint job is perfect - no spills, perfect edging and no drip marks. They did a fabulous job and I can't complain about anything. We plan on getting some more rooms painted in the new year and we will be contacting Tony again.
