TERRENCE CLAYBORN

Poor. The estimate was for $600.00 which included the extension, stairs, cleaning and clear water proofing. My deck is cedar and has medal bracket connectors. It took Clayborn and company 4 weeks to complete the work. His workers were re-tasked to clean and stain two of my neighbor s decks for free. Mr. Clayborn was my neighbor three doors down. His workers were taking wood that I was told was for my project and added to his own deck extension. After 4 weeks, my work was completed except for the water proofing. The new extension was built with treated lumber and was butted together and nailed, not what was agreed to. Mr. Clayborn pressed to change the work order in order to paint or stain all the deck to one color and more money was needed to cover the extra materials for $1200.00 total. I came to the realization that the extra materials were for both my neighbor s work and My Clayborn s own deck extensions. I ended up fixing my deck myself. It had to be redecked and the frame.

HE'S FINISHED QUITE A BIT OF IT BUT HE NEVER CALLED TO HAVE ANY INSPECTIONS SO WE CALLED FOR THEM BECAUSE THE WORK LOOKED LIKE IT WAS DONE IMPROPERLY. THE INSPECTOR PUT A STOP WORK ORDER ON HIM AND ORDERED HIM TO FIX THE PROBLEMS. HE HAS NOT MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO FIX THE MAJOR VIOLATIONS. THE INSPECTOR TOLD US THAT THE ROOF IS SO BAD THAT A MAJOR SNOW STORM COULD CAVE IT IN. VIOLATIONS ASIDE, HE HAS NOT COMPLETED THE WORK WE PAID HIM FOR. THE CITY INSPECTOR GAVE HIM 15 DAYS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS BUT THAT TIME PERIOD IS OVER AND HE HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEMS. HE IS VERY BAD AT WHAT HE DOES.
