I inquired about purchasing a set of two chairs and an ottoman they had outside on the end of year sale.  I was told they had four sets left in stock so I purchased one set and had it delivered the next week.  I was under the impression I would be getting a new set and not the model on display outside.  When it was delivered the chairs were wet and the cushions were dirty.  I called and was told they did not have anymore in stock and could not do anything about the dirty cushions.  I am so disappointed because I had planned to use this set indoors and did not want dirty cushions.  Usually floor/last models are discounted further as last in stock and Sullivan's did not offer any further discount.  It is unfortunate that I was deceived into thinking I was getting a new set and they are unwilling to offer any solution other than an apology.  Buyer beware and ask more questions.

It's great. They have everything. I get all my flowers there in the summertime and my husband gets some hardware stuff sometimes too. They are great. They deliver right to your house when you buy. They have everything all ready when they deliver it. They don't charge which is kind of nice. They are very nice. We kind of know the people, they are kind of neighborhood people. Our kids went to school with his kids. He's got this great little business. He is a people person and there all the time. Socializes with everybody. Has specials all the time. Everything. He cooks on the grills and has people and try their samples. They are very people oriented and very friendly and just good people. Make you feel right at home. A smaller business. He's big small. He's very popular. Wonderful flowers and just anything that you need, fertilizers and soil and anything that you need for your gardening. Plants to put in your garden, anything like that. Grills and furniture, outdoor furniture, patio furniture, anything like that. They are very good quality items.

The staff is always helpful and pleasant.

The experience was excellent. They had a really nice man who took care of me, he even topped off one of my tanks for free. They are a good company with a great price.

On Wednesday the 28th, I called Sullivan Hardware Store to inquire about Weed Free Zone. Now the previous Saturday, I listened to WIBC garden show who touted to get Weed Free Zone specifically. Sullivan Hardware is part of the Do It Best hardware chain. So I looked up the price for 16 oz concentrate of Weed Free Zone on the website before calling the store. They listed the 16 oz bottle for 19.99. When I called the store, I wanted to make sure it was in stock when I came by on Friday to pick it up. The person I talked to said they just got a shipment in of the stuff and that they tried to keep their prices as close to the website as possible. This left me with a good feeling.

Friday came along, I decided to go to the Sullivan store in Cicero. They never even heard of the product. I went to the another store off Allison Road. They didn't have it in stock. I finally went to the keystone store which I had originally called. When I got there, there was no Weed Free Zone on the shelf. I asked one of the associates where was the shipment they got. It was explained to me that they no longer carried Weed Free Zone and to get Speed Zone. Speed Zone was supposed to be better. It was a 20oz bottle in concentrate form. The problem was that it was more expensive. Those four ounces cost 10 dollars more than the other product at 16 ounces. I was a bit unhappy. I purchased the product.

When I got home, I went to the manufacturer's website. They do not even list Weed Free Zone anymore. I was a little upset at the fact that I was told to get a product by someone who is supposed to have current and in depth knowledge on these products. Not only that they are on the radio and are making money off me buying from their store. WIBC needs to stop telling people to get Weed Free Zone as it is no longer available in the marketplace as the manufacturer (Gordon) no longer makes it. (The manufacturer website was pbigordon.com)

I think it is good to have in case of emergency. They are always good to us. We bought it right before an ice storm last year. They were sold out when I called, but they were able to hold one for me.

They are good and I don't have a problem with them.

Sullivan Hardware is a good, family-owned business. We have been going to them for many years. They have people there who know what they are talking about and ready to help. All these qualities make them a trustworthy hardware store; it is nice to buy things from a store like that Sullivan Hardware. They are a little more expensive than the others, when it comes to certain items.

Overall a great experience. The boy who loaded our tree onto the car was very careful and did a good job of securing the tree. The people there are always friendly and I am in love with my first tree!!

It was a really quick turn around. They quoted me 5 weeks and it was actually done in less than a week.

They did the work very quickly.

I took my son's power wheel in to be repaired. They came outside and carried it in for me. After a couple of days, I received a call it was repaired. The gear box had gone bad and was replaced. About a week later, the car stopped working again. It was the battery. I took the two batteries I have into the store. They replaced them both at no extra charge.

The products and customer service is always excellent at Sullivan's Hardware. It is family-owned, so I always try to purchase my home improvement products from them. Pat Sullivan is always there to answer any questions.

I was very impressed by both the reasonable rental price for the pressure washer compared to other stores, as well as the friendliness of the employees. Everyone in the store said hello to me, and I had people scrambling to help me get the pressure washer out to my car and then back into the store when I returned. I had rented the unit for three hours, but brought it back within two hours. I figured my money would be lost, but they proactively issued a refund; I didn't even have to ask! If you're tired of the impersonal service at a big-box store, try Sullivan Hardware.

Service was great. Prices are a little high.

LIKE THIS BETTER THAN LARGE STORES WHERE IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND WHAT YOU WANT. ALSO, IT IS MUCH EASIER TO FIND PEOPLE TO HELP YOU HERE.

DELIVERED SAME DAY AND STACKED IN THE LOCATION I REQUESTED; I WAS NOT HOME.

I HATE SHOPPING AT BOX STORES LIKE DEPOT AND LOWE'S. I'D RATHER SUPPORT LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESSES. STORES LIKE SULLIVAN'S ARE SERVICE ORIENTED. THEIR EMPLOYEES HAVE THE PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE TO HELP WITH ANY HM IMP PROJECT. THEY ALSO HAVE SOME OF THE BEST PLANTS IN THE CITY.

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE AROUND TO ANSWER MY VARIOUS QUESTIONS OR TO HELP ME CARRY THINGS OUT TO MY CAR. IF THERE IS A WAIT FOR SERVICE, IT IS NEVER VERY LONG. THEIR GARDEN CENTER, WHILE NOT AS CHEAP AS THE BIG BOX STORES, IS EXCELLENT! VERY NICE SELECTION, AND THE PLANTS ARE SO HEALTHY AND LOVELY!

IN MY OPINION, THIS IS THE BEST HARDWARE STORE WE HAVE. EVERYONE IS VERY HELPFUL. IF THEY DO NOT KNOW THE ANSWER TO A QUESTION, THEY WILL FIND IT.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT. IN FACT, MY NEW MAILBOX WAS SUBSEQUENTLY KNOCKED DOWN BY PRANKSTERS, AND SULLIVAN'S CAME BACK AND FIXED IT FOR ME AT NO CHARGE.
