Strohm Automotive was founded in 1990 as a family owned and family operated automotive care center. The goal of Carl and Jeanette Strohm has, from the beginning, been to provide top quality auto service, repairs, and restoration within a friendly, honest, and comfortable atmosphere. Your vehicle is serviced as if OUR family is going to be driving it, and relying on its dependability. We offer the latest in automotive diagnostic technology, and our ASE Certified personnel are trained and motivated to see that the job is done right. We work on both domestic and import autos, and offer special services for the repair and restoration of vintage British cars. We are members of the British Motor Trade Association, and the Automotive Service Association. Additional contact name Carl Strohm. I had a absolutely fantastic experience with Strohm Automotive. I searched extensively to find a facility able to service my early '70s Italian sports car. Carl was quite happy to work on the car, was very up-front with the issues which should be addressed and spot-on with the estimate. The work done was exemplary - the car handles like new. This was by far the best experience I have had with repairs on this car, and I highly recommend anyone with a vintage car to consider working with Strohm's. Carl - thanks for what you did, and sorry for the late recommendation (my bad)

This is a very friendly, professional shop. It's family owned and operated. They performed a complete engine overhaul and many other maintenance items my car. They gave a prompt, professional printed estimate of the cost and dis the work for the estimate cost. My car has run perfectly ever since they overhauled the engine.

They do work on my and lsquo;75 Triumph Spitfire. They seem extremely professional and courteous. They are excellent in all their respects that should be considered and I think their pricing is very reasonable.

I had originally tried to do this job myself. I had gotten the first suspension rod disconnected, pressed the bushings out and installed the new ones, and could not reinstall the suspension rod. Strohm took my parts and finished the job within a week. There was no complaint about my providing parts, or giving them a job I couldn't finish - something I appreciated.

Replaced belts and water pump. Strohm Automotive Repair has never tried to sell repairs which are not necessary: Many repair businesses sell repairs which are pure rip offs.
I do not run run belts or water pumps until they break or leak!

I had the vehicle repaired by Strohm Automotive.
The rear brakes were cleaned and adjusted. The right constant velocity joint was replaced including an axle. (cv joint).
Strohm Automotive has never tried to sell unnecessary repairs. Very outstanding integrity.

Strohm has serviced our vehicles for over 10 years. They perform preventive maintenance per the owner's manuals, as well as do a complete safety check at each visit. When more service is indicated than was anticipated, they always call with an explanation and estimate and get approval before doing additional work.
Strohm is less expensive than dealers, but more costly than many service providers. The upside is the quality, which is more than commensurate with the price. They've always managed to diagnose and fix the cause of any mechanical/electrical malfunction.
Thanks to their thorough, knowledgeable, professional service, in over 10 years we've never experienced an on-the-road problem except for one flat tire.

Carl and the boys are just wonderful. They went over the car with a fine toothed comb and reported the condition of everything, made some recommendations that I accepted, and delivered the car on time.
I would comment that Carl has been my mechanic of choice since 2004 and I have never had a complaint, or any reason to question his judgement. Absolutely outstanding!!

Initially the work was to be much more limited (deal with oil leaks from the engine and fix a grabby clutch) than what actually turned out to be the case, but this was not due to opportunism on the part of the Strohms. As we interacted with Carl, and as he diagnosed the problems and needs of our MG, we became convinced of his and his sons wealth of experience and professionalism in working on vintage British sports cars, most particularly T series MGs. Given our trust in the Strohms' judgement and capabilities, together we established the course of action for the repair of our MG, which quite exceeded our initial plans. We were not disappointed in the results. The work was done carefully and with a good bit of communication, especially important as our home is a 90 minutes drive (2.5 hours in the MG!) distant from Strohm Automotive. The repairs did take much longer than expected, but that in large part was due to a continuing series of discoveries of additional problems requiring attention. The final cost was also a good bit more than originally anticipated, but again due to the vagaries of working on an aged British sports car, and on our desire to have the job done correctly and completely.
At the end of the process we had a greatly renewed MG-TD, an extensive invoice laying out all the parts and repairs effected, two boxes of old parts, and a CD of pictures taken along the way of the many stages of the repair process. We also feel that we have a new set of friends in the Strohms, a family that is highly professional and very personable, running a business in an open, honest, and straightforward manner.
If we lived in the Indianapolis area (rather than 75 miles away) I'd be pleased to take our all of our automotive service needs to Strohm Automotive. As is I'm grateful and pleased to have discovered the Strohms for their ability to work our MG-TD, and am pleased to direct Angie's List readers to Strohm Automotive as an excellent automotive resource.

I had tried unsuccessfully to fix this problem myself. It was important to me that I find a shop that worked on older cars, and charged rates that I could afford. When I was there, they had three vintage British Sports cars in their shop, which gave me confidence. They found and corrected two bad connections which solved the problem. I was unable to pick up the car for a couple of days after they finished, so they kept the car, keeping it in their shop at nighttime. They seem very capable.
