STEWART ROOFING

I started to have leaks in my Sun-Room that was built in 2012 that I was told by the builder that i did not have to put a roof on; I called the builder they responded to my call but nobody came out.
I contacted Stewart Roofing which is owned by one of my neighbors he got my Sun-Room covered with a Tarp to temporary stop the leaks and just over a week he had all the material ordered to put on the Metal Roof and larger gutter which was completed on 12/28/2013. He was very professional, prompt and the roof and gutter looks great; he going to check back with me to make sure we have no more leaks.

They were terrific.

My husband and I are very pleased with the results of all the work that Stewart Roof and Sheet Metal has done for us! This is the second time we have used this company for slate/ copper roofing work. Previously, they installed slate roofing and copper gutters on a new detached garage we built in 2010. This time, the projects were on our old two story 1920's 2-car garage/ garage studio.
The team consisted of three men. We had a delayed start date due to the wet weather in May/June. Since we were not in a major rush... they started our projects in July. Just as soon as they started, the weather was in the 90's and very humid. It took two weeks to complete everything. Had the weather not been so hot [creating unsafe hot working conditions]... I would say it would have taken them a week.
The task to build up the flat roof to have pitch/ slope, along with, working around two in-use AC units did create some challenges. The team built a hoist contraption to raise the AC units a few inches off the roof while they worked. They did cleaned up after themselves daily. The materials, tools, ladders they left on site daily were neatly organized.

I understand that Jim and his team are the fourth generation in this family roofing company. Most of their work is done in the Meridian Kessler and surrounding neighborhoods on homes ranging from $200K to well over $1M.
Start/during/finish: We contacted the company for an initial meeting. We presented Jim with a rough drawing of the old garage noting what we knew needed repaired/replaced/ added....along with our desire to have the flat roof section built up to have a slight slope for better drainage. Within a few days..... we received an email estimate of the cost for all projects and got on their work list schedule. During the project... we would touch base almost daily with the team on the progress. Upon completion, we paid exactly what the estimate was. They went beyond requirements/ expectations! We'll be using Stewart Roofing and Sheet Metal Company again for additional slate roof maintenance and copper gutter work on the main parts of the house. We highly recommend them. They stand behind their work.
Final note: The other bid we got from a large company based out of Ohio was for $29, 600. That company wanted us to have the AC units removed prior to the project and then re-installed afterwards. Temporary removal of the AC units was going to be over $3K ....bringing their overall cost at over $30k. We paid 1/2 that amount, not compromising on quality of workmanship, materials used nor our use of the AC units during such hot weather.

It was a fairly painless process, done on time and as promised.

They were great. They fixed some terrible work that was done by another contractor.

This was a signficant project for us. I did a lot of due diligence and ultimately asked for quotes from 2 firms. Both quotes were in the same ball park. I chose to negotiate with Stewart because their references came from people who I consider to be picky with high quality standards, and because I liked them the best after my initial discussions with them and the other firm. The project was run by Jimmy Stewart. He is professional and highly competent. He also had a good crew working for him. They were punctual and always concerned about our satisfaction. Jimmy fabricated and installed the gutters and the quality is like art. We've had many contractors work on our home in a variety of capacities during a signficant remodel over the past 12 months and we'd measure Jimmy as one of the best of all trades who did work for us. As we have roofing and gutter needs in the coming years, I won't call anyone else but him. It''s difficult to find people like this.

I loved them. They were very professional, were on time, courteous, prompt and I really like them a lot. I would not use anybody else other than them in the future.

Stewart Roofing showed up on time and did a great job. They were reasonable with pricing. We have used Stewart Roofing for many jobs and always a pleasure to work with.

Their quote was very high. It was three times that of another company. They have excellent reviews and a lot of people think they are really good. They walked around and checked out the place. They said we needed to replace certain things. I think they assumed that we ours was an insurance claim and they were trying to get us to do work that we probably didn’t need to do. We have some copper items and they said because the copper had changed color it had to be replaced. I thought that was ridiculous. This wasn’t an insurance claim. The roof needed to be repaired and we were just trying to maintain it. The roof was checked after a hailstorm where a lot of roofs in the neighborhood were replaced. This roof was checked by two or three different people. We also needed some flashing repaired on a chimney. It was done wrongly by a prior service provider. They came right away and were really good at giving the estimate. Everybody who has used them has loved them. They were very responsive and very punctual too. However, they were too expensive for us. I was kind of upset with them.

Did what he promised at estimated price. No surprises. Excellent job of keeping work site clean. Honest, easy to work with, and explained work. Took long time to start work.

Jim was excellent in working with our insurance and custom ordered our specific roof tiles.

HE WAS EXCELLENT. HE SUGGESTED THAT WE HAD THE WIDER DOWNSPOUTS AND IT WAS A GREAT IDEA.

AMAZING ROOFER! CALLS BACK PROMPTLY. SHOWS UP EXACTLY WHEN HE SAYS HE WILL. DOES GOOD WORK. VERY UNUSUAL EXPERIENCE WITH A ROOFER. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

OUR ROOF WAS LEAKING. WE WERE ABLE TO GET AN ESTIMATE VERY QUICKLY. THE WORK WAS DONE WITHIN A WEEK OF ACCEPTING IT. ALTHOUGH ALL WORK ON SLATE ROOFING, ESPECIALLY THOSE INVOLVING COPPER, IS EXPENSIVE, THEIR PRICES ARE THE MOST REASONABLE. OVERALL, A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE ON A TYPE OF WORK THAT CAN BE DIFFICULT.

I WAS IMPRESSED AT JIM'S RESPONSIVENESS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A ROOFER DO WORK FOR ME WHO CALLED BACK SO PROMPTLY, PROVIDED ESTIMATES SO QUICKLY, SHOWED UP EXACTLY WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, AND DID THE WORK HIMSELF ALONG WITH HIS CREW. VERY REFRESHING.

VERY GOOD PEOPLE.

JIM STEWART WAS VERY PERSONABLE. HE AND HIS HELPER TOOK TIME AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THE FINISHED PRODUCT LOOKS VERY CLEAN. THEY DID SOME REPAIR TO THE EXISTING PLANKING AND SUPPORT AROUND THE CHIMNEY WHERE SOME PREVIOUS WORK HAD BEEN SHODDILY DONE. THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES BEFORE THEY LEFT THE JOB SITE EVERY DAY.

VERY HIGH QUALITY JOB AT ONE-THIRD THE PRICE OF THE ONLY OTHER ESTIMATE WE COULD GET FOR THIS JOB (SLATE ROOF). VERY GOOD ABOUT EXPLAINING OPTIONS FOR REPAIR. ALSO WAS ABLE TO RE-USE SOME EXISTING MATERIALS SHICH SAVED QUITE A BIT OF MONEY.

I AM VERY PLEASED. JIM CALLED BACK WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD AND HE DID WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD. HE WAS COURTEOUS. HIS ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS SEEMED REASONABLE. HE AND HIS COWORKER WERE CAREFUL OF MY LANDSCAPING. AND, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT MY GUTTERS ARE ALL FUNCTIONING AS THEY SHOULD BE.

THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES VERY WELL. THE ONLY THING I WASN''T PLEASED ABOUT WAS THAT THEY FAILED TO COVER A HOLE IN THE ROOF WHILE THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF DOING THE WORK AND IT RAINED THROUGH THAT HOLE. OTHER THAN THAT, I COULDN''T BE HAPPIER. MY ROOF IS BEAUTIFUL AND I DIDN''T HAVE TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEM. THEY DON''T USE SUBCONTRACTORS AND THEY TAKE THE TIME TO DO A THOROUGH JOB. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM AGAIN TO ANYONE - NO QUESTION.
