We readied our house for listing with a target date of May 11. Steve arranged for a stager to meet with us and offer recommendations and he also arranged for professional photos to be taken following our staging of our home. Our home went on the market May 12 and sold three days later! Given the price range our house was in (550K +), we believed it would take longer to sell but we received a cash offer from the first family to view our home and negotiated a selling price within 97% of our asking price. Steve and Kristina, his office associate, were also very helpful and responsive during the inspection and closing phases of the process. We were able to close the sale within five weeks of the accepted offer.
We have nothing but good things to say about Steve and Kristina. There were several instances where we needed to communicate with Steve late evenings and always received prompt responses. There was never a situation where he wasn't available when we needed assistance. This was an excellent experience overall and we wouldn't hesitate to work with Steve in the future nor would we hesitate to recommend him to others. I found myself in a position of needing to move out of state and sell my home quickly. Being the eternal pessimist I was sure my home was just your average run of the mill home and would take months to sell.
I contacted Steve Sergi who came out to the house and assured me we could do this. I was on a very tight budget and was concerned about having to put a lot of money into the home in preparation of selling. During the walk through Steve, ever the optimist assured me we wouldn?t have to do much. He provided a few recommendations and put me in touch with folks who could handle the minor repairs and changes he felt would help with making my home ready for sale.
Steve provided me with statistics on other homes in the area that had sold recently, how much they sold for and the length of time they were on the market. With this information in hand we settled on a price for my home and a date to list it.
Steve checked in with me periodically to ensure I was able to secure the help I needed with preparations and checked to see if I might need additional help or have more questions.
Two days after my home was listed we had 3 offers ? Wow, I never in my right mind believed this could happen. Steve and his team, Kristina and Stephanie kept me apprised of each step in the process, what to expect and when. At the time of closing, even though I was out of state they made contact with a title co. nearby where I was able to go and sign my paperwork. Their help and guidance continued even after closing. Steve contacted me to ensure I contacted all companies associated with my home ownership to ensure the accounts had been properly closed and any remaining funds returned to me.
Steve has certainly made the process of selling my home a good experience??. And, has succeeded in turning me into an optimist.

After the second showing, we decided to make an offer on the house. Steve went over the purchase agreement very carfully, and when the subject of financing the sale arose, he suggested using the equity in our current home to make a cash payment instead of a conventional mortgage. This was a great suggestion for our circumstances, and with promotional incentives through our bank; our interest rate is only 1.99% for the first few months. Steve and his associate Kristina stayed in constant contact during the entire process. They kept us and the sellers informed on how everything was progressing. Closing was smooth, and he even gave us and the sellers nice gifts to celebrate. He gave me a follow up call the day after the closing to check on any questions we might have thought of overnight, and plans to check periodically. I really enjoyed working with him and his group and will consider using him to sell my other house when it is ready.

The Sergi group was recommended to us by a family member. Steve helped us find and purchase a home in Broad Ripple. Steve's knowledge of home construction and remodeling experience was hugely valuable as we talked through rough remodeling costs while reviewing potential homes. His understanding of the market was helpful as we considered the purchase from the perspective of a long-term investment. He and his team's availability on the weekends and late into the evening made the process easy to manage, even with a busy work schedule.
Once we found 'the one', Steve guided us through a complex purchase of the home which was being sold by the family members of the deceased owner (estate sale). Knowing this is was going to be one of the largest purchases/investments of our lives, we were very price sensitive. With Steve's seasoned negotiation skills we were able to purchase the home at a very good value (especially so considering the desirability of Broad Ripple homes). Reaching closing required several rounds of negotiation. This included negotiation up to the morning of the closing when agreed upon repairs weren't made by the seller.
The Sergi Group's diligence and expertise literally saved us thousands of dollars. I'm confident using a less experienced and talented team would have resulted in us paying thousands more for the same house.
