"Snips, nestled on the east side of Indianapolis in the Historic area of Irvington is one of Indianapolis' most recognized full service salons. Snips opened July 2001, and has been welcomed by Indianapolis and surrounding communities ever since. Snips strives to be the best source of style and fashion for the east-side of Indianapolis. The staff at Snips is dedicated to providing their clients with a focused wellness approach in all services provided. Our aesthetician is the recipient of theWRTV 6 , the Indy Channel.com A-List ""Best Facial"" three years in a row. The salon has been voted Nuvo magazine's""Best salon"" every year since 2009 and the Metromix magazine's ""Best salon"" for 2010. These awards honor us because they are voted upon by readers. The motivate us to set goals for themselves to better serve our clientele. We pride ourselves in the fact that we continually seek higher education, bringing new techniques back to the salon, and our sense of community involvement. We provide hair and makeup services for the Indiana State Fair Association's Queen pageant, and have done so for the past five years. This involvement with the ISFA has led us, along with the Irvington Community Council, to establish the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival Scholarship Pageant. 2009 was the pageants inaugural year, and we look forward helping continue this Irvington event."

Both daughters started going to Snips when they left Cookie Cutters (so a long time ago) and my youngest continues to be a client of Judy Maloy. We love Judy and the girls also loved Sarah Clarkson there. My oldest left Snips to patronize a high school friend's business. We appreciated the quality of service Kevin and Anthony--who recently sold the business--provided to Irvington. Since the sale, there was a glitch with a credit card transaction and the new owner worked diligently to get it resolved. Much appreciated her efforts, so I am confident we will continue to love Snips! Note: Price given in review does not include tip.

It was great! Snips is my regular salon, and I am always happy with their service. Vincent gave me a great cut and the waxing was quick and painless. They're always super professional on the phone and very welcoming.

Kay is my stylist. She is great, and it's always very relaxing when I'm in there for a trim. I usually sit there and start gabbing and trust her to do something great with my hair. I've actually gotten a lot of good feedback on my hair since I started going to Snips.
Kelsey, the receptionist/cashier/scheduler/hostess, is also super friendly and does a great job managing customer arrivals and departures. They are now my regular salon in Indianapolis, and I am so happy to have them close to my building in the Irvington area.

AWESOME!
I have been to snips I think 5 times (3 different stylists) and each time I have been really pleased. I really wanted to share this with others, but more importantly with the staff because I tend to walk out of there looking a little hesitant, but once I get a chance to play around with my haircut and style it on my own, I have always loved it--Today's haircut included!!!
I feel confident trusting the stylists' suggestions and will definitely be visiting them again!

Snips is just 15 minutes away. They do very good. In fact, the first time I went, the lady Kay who did my husband and I's hair. She used a flat iron and I called them back and said I would rather her use a curling iron instead. I asked if I needed to call again and they said, oh no, we'll just give her a memo and ask her to do that for you and the next time I went in, she did.
When we walk in, it's been very, very cold here, and they ask, do you want a cup of tea or a cup of coffee and things like this.
And Kay, even though I only used her 3 times now, she remembered how I liked my hair curled. My last one I had to always remind her.

My first use of my Angie's List membership was a simple but necessary one. I called in the afternoon and was able to get an appointment later that day. All the staff was professional and polite. My appointment was with Kay and she provided me with the best styling I'd ever had. Kay will be who I call from here on out. I would recommend Snips to anyone in search of a great place to take care of your hair.

Things went great. I had tried to cut my own hair the night before so i had quite the hair emergency. I called and Kevin was able to get me in the same day to fix the issue. Andrew cut my hair and was able to put in layers so that upon it growing out it will mesh naturally. He also styled it and was very knowledgeable about product. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Snips.

I've been to Andrew three times now, and he is the bomb dot com! Love him. I've never had a consistant hair dresser that understands my needs and how I like to grow my hair and cut it all off all the time. The first time I went in blind and cut off about 13 inches from long to a pixie, Andrew was very good about incorporating the side shave I had with my long hair into my new short hair. Absolutely loved it. Second time was maintenance and my most recent visit, was a cute a-line. He's quick, fun, and does an immaculate job.

I like going there. They give great haircuts. They are professional and friendly. They make you feel welcome. The cost of their haircut for an adult client is $35 and I think between $10 and $20 for a young person. I am kind of a cheap skate. I am personally a little bit hesitant about having to pay for haircut at all but I just put that aside and realize that you really do get what you pay for. Like if you pay for a $10 haircut, that is what you are going to get. Their price is comparable to other fancy salons and they do just a really fantastic job.

Great cuts & Great employees.
I always know I will be greeted warmly by everyone.
If you can't keep your regular appt. someone is always willing to step in and cover if you can't get your regular stylist.
The Snips atmosphere is always clean, fun, uplifting, yet professional.
Snips is also a part of the Irvington Community, supporting and participating in neighborhood events.
I highly recommend Snips...for cuts, color, pedicures, facials....etc.

I had a set appointment at 1:30 and they didn’t do anything. They didn’t tell me I would be waiting for a while or anything at all and I have been going there for 5 years. They treated me like dirt on the floor, that's how a felt when I left. They are hateful and they wouldn’t hardly discuss what happened when I tried to talk to them. They were very dismissive to both me and my girlfriend on the phone. They did a bad job on her pedicure, looked like a 5 year old did it. They are just non-caring people now.

Overall Snips is awesome! I have visited a few stylists there, just because oef my schedule. My one gripe is that it always seems that they are running behind, but to be fair I am absolutely the kind of person who wants to get in and out. I don't want to be delayed by waiting, so my expectation is probably pretty high. Despite this I would absolutely recommend Snips to any of my friends!!!

This was my first time visiting Snips. I initially emailed them about getting an appointment. The receptionist called me the next day and asked some basic questions about my hair and set up an appointment for that Thursday with Andrew. Their shop is great! Everyone is very nice. Andrew was awesome. I think I have one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I'm really happy with it. I definitely plan to go back..
