 + 2 moreWe needed a new driveway installed and the old one removed. We contacted 5 contractors to examine the job, propose ideas, and estimate the cost. We were directed to Smithco Construction by a friend involved in commercial construction. He recommended Smithco as the best in business. Ron Smith, the owner, was clearly the most knowledgable contractor we encountered. His plan for the path of the new driveway was the most practical and the most attractive. His price was very reasonable considering the quality of the work. Since completing this job several months ago, we have received many compliments on how attractive the new driveway looks. All of the workers who worked on this job were experienced and professional. The driveway was completed within the time frame that Ron Smith promised and the price was exactly what he had estimated. We were completely satisfied and would recommend him.
Description of Work: Smithco Construction removed an old gravel driveway and installed a new one in a different location. Equipment involved included a backhoe, bulldozer, and dump truck. The site of the old driveway was left as part of the lawn with topsoil added. The new driveway was gravel.

Description of Work: My home was on 3 wooded and hilly acres in Castleton, Geist area of Marion County for 17 years. I hired SmithCo (Ron Smith) for 12 of those 17 years to maintain and repair my gravel lane, excavate and rock the ditches on the side of this long and hilly gravel lane, excavate and place rocks to prevent soil erosion around my home, and create a rock landscape/garden. Ron (SmithCo) has always been (for the 10+ year) professional and responsive,giving me a fair and equitable price for work done. Quality of work is excellent. I would hire SmithCo where ever I relocate (after moving from my wooded home). I give an excellent recommendation to SmithCo and Ron Smith (owner). He has become a trusted friend and I would call upon him at any time for help and assistance.
