The only part that looks good is the floor! While they were here I asked them to remove the popcorn off the ceiling in the entry approximately 25 feet, and to redo the crown too. Inially the crown looks good, but if you look up close you can see that the joints were not tight and they had used caulk to try to hide the gaps. There is one section of the crown that they cut the crown too short and instead of redoing it, they cut a inch piece of crown and tried to hide their error. On installing the door, they cut out too large of a opening for the lock to go in and they left it open, they did not nail down the trim at the stairs, I also had the Pella representative over and he noticed that they did not put the final trim on the door so that the door is not under warranty as it is. Shoddy work. They ended up charging me more than the initial bid which I paid since he was a friend of my friend, but I will not use this contractor again or recommend him! I called them twice to come out and do the punch list, each time they promised to come out and never did. They overcharge for the work they do, and they try to hide their mistakes!

Main person on the job was James. He was very meticulous and did a quality job. Job took longer than expected and cost more than estimate, but I am happy with the results. There are a couple of punch list items that need to be completed, and while they have been in contact with me, these still are not finished.

We were so pleased. The entire project took less than a week. Everything was cleaned up when returned home in the evening. Painting was flawless. He had to knock a hole in the wall between the tiled shower and the drywall over the tub --- you can't tell. I had heard contractor horror stories & was so relieved that all went well. He is returning in January to remodel our laundry room. Responsive to both e-mails & voice mails. I appreciated that he quoted a price upfront for a body of work; no ''nickel & diming'' along the way.

Steve Huton was very professional, and the job was completed in a very timely manner, despite structural issues and a change of mind on my part. The crew was neat, showed up each day, did a very detail-oriented job, and were nice to my dog. I am very happy with SMH, Inc. and would recommend them highly. They took a lot of pride in their work, were very thorough, very reasonably priced, and made this job a pleasant experience. In fact, the experience was so good, that I will be using them again for additional remodeling that I am planning.

I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR TODAY AND NO ONE SHOWED. I WAS ALL THE WAY IN ANDERSON AND CAME DOWN TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT. I DID CALL AND HE APOLOGIZED AND MADE EXCUSE. IT IS NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL TO FAIL TO CONTACT POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS.

STEVE DID A GREAT JOB. HE'S VERY UPFRONT WITH HOW MUCH IT WILL COST AND THE NUMBER DOESN'T CHANGE. HE ALSO WILL LET YOU KNOW IF THERE IS ANOTHER WAY THAT IS CHEAPER TO DO IT, BUT LETS YOU KNOW THE PROS AND CONS OF THE DIFFERENT SCENARIOS.

THE OWNER AND PERFORMED THE WORK AND BY THE DEADLINE I HAD. HE DEALT WITH ME IN A TIMELY FASHION. HE SEEMED TO DO A WONDERFUL JOB.

HUNG DOORS BACKWARD, USED UNMATCHED CEILING TILES, FLOOR TILES CAME UP, DRYWALL ABYSMAL.

HE IS VERY NICE AND DID A VERY GOOD JOB. HE IS VERY PUNCTUAL. HE CAME TO GIVE THE ESTIMATE AND HE CAME BACK AT THE DESIGNATED APPOINTMENT TIME TO DO THE WORK.

I FOUND MR. HUSTON TO BE A VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CAPABLE YOUNG MAN IN VIRTUALLY ALL AREAS OF HOME IMPROVEMENT AND REPAIRS. I INTEND TO USE MR. HUSTON FOR MY UPCOMING KITCHEN AND FAMILY ROOM RENOVATIONS.
