Scott does excellent work. Both guitars were done in a reasonable time at a fair price. Both guitars play and sound great!

Scott has worked on several acoustic guitars for me--performing set-ups, installing an under-saddle pickup, leveling frets, and fixing a couple of top cracks caused by lack of humidity. In all instances, he has been honest and forthright about what work needs (and does not need) to be done, has completed work in a timely manner, has done an excellent job, and all around has been a pleasure to deal with. I look forward to working with him again.

Scott put a higher nut on my old Tele and managed to save the old nut in case I ever wanted to get it back to original condition. He also took it apart and cleaned all the electrical connections and tightened up everything that had gotten loose over the years. Also, because it wasn't too much out of his way he picked it up and returned it after he had finished. He did an excellent job on all of it.

I have an Ovation acoustic-electric guitar that belonged to my late father - it is about 40 years old and needless to say, means a lot to me. I recently found that the bridge had peeled up from the face, taking part of the lacquer and a splinter of wood with it. Scott was able to repair this in such a way that you really can't tell anything ever happened, and also made the repair such that the bridge is now epoxied directly into wood, to prevent future recurrence. The work was beautifully done and at a very reasonable price. I'm thrilled to have a valued family heirloom back in top shape.

All of my guitars get their work done at Scott's shop because he is the best in town. One of my electric guitars, a 2008 strat I purchased in Rockford IL was set up many times there in Rockford. None of those guys could ever get me what I needed from a setup. Last fall, I bought new lollar pickups and asked him to put them in and set it up properly. I explained what was wrong and when I got my guitar back it was so great. It was always neck problems and he fixed that so that it finally played right and intonated correctly. I couldn't be happier. I have nice guitars but now that my strat is perfect it never sits for long. Also, Scott is helping me build a guitar at his shop. So far he has had me participate in joining the body blanks, cutting out the tele shape, and begin to route out all the pup locations and the neck cavity. I wanted to make on but don't have the experience so he is helping, that way I can say I helped build it. Very cool. He is also super nice and wants you to be happy as possible with your instrument. Highly recommend Scott.

I had a severe hum coming from my Fender Strat, but only when playing at church. Scott explained how electrical surroundings (florescent lighting, dimmers, etc.) can affect amplifiers and instruments. He also explained why the hum was so much less when using the Strat in switch positions 2 or 4. Scott shielded my electrics, which greatly reduced the hum. He also did some intonation correction and reset a partially raised fret. All work was completed on time and at a very fair price. I own five guitars and will only use Scott for any future work. I highly recommend him.

Work was done on time and within the suggested price range, and met my expectations. The only con was a limited amount of pick-up/drop-off times. He did work with me to come up with a convenient time when one of the times would not work for me.

Both guitars look and play perfectly. I could not be happier. Scott makes working with him fun and educational. All of the guitar players who work in our worship band have had him repair and/or set up their instruments. We agree: Scott rocks.

At my last visit Scott put in new pickups and did a complete set-up. I took the guitar to him on a tuesday, and usually you would have to wait til Thursday to get it back, but he called me the next day and told me my guitar was ready. My stratocaster has been troublesome, but Scott got it set up perfectly and it plays like a dream. I couldn't be happier with his work or how quickly he did it, I didn't ask for a rush job. I knew it was a good guitar, it just needed a professional's touch to get it right. He did. In addition, I agree with the other reviewers, Scott is about the nicest guy you'll meet. He really cares about what you want, and will tell you if you DON'T need something, rather than doing it for no reason and charging you. Heck of a guy.

Scott is hands down the best guitar repair guy around. He is also one
of the most personable people you'd ever want to know. Here's how good
he is. When Meridian Music still had their guitar department, they
out-sourced their more difficult and quot;casesand quot; to Scott. Enough said!

Scott has worked a few of my guitars over the past couple of years. New frets and tune up on a Fender Strat with excellent results. Guitar is like new. Scott also built a guitar for me from scratch using a Warmoth Strat style body. Awesome work. Guitar looks off the shelf store purchased. Amazing sound and tone. Totally satisfied with work from SDC.

My daughter had 2 old ukuleles that she couldn't play a particular chord on. The owner, Scott, was easy to get in touch with, and he gave good directions to the storefront. My daughter explained the problems and he looked at the ukes. He said they probably needed set-ups and he quoted $25-$35 per instrument. As the ukes were gifts and we had no idea of their value, we asked if it was worth repairing them, and he assured us it was. He said it would be a week to 10 days.

About 2 weeks later, I called and asked if the instruments were ready, as my daughter had no instruments to play. Scott said he'd start them the following week. Another week passed and I called and left a message. No reply for a couple of days. Then Sunday morning, Scott called and said we could pick them up. Apparently they had been finished, but the assistant had not called us and Scott had a family emergency.

Other than the time issue, Scott had put more work into the instruments than we'd talked about, so the final price was higher than we'd expected ($50/instrument). When I expressed surprise, he was going to give us the quoted price, but I offered to compromise on the price at $75 for both. He had cleaned the instruments thoroughly, repaired some scratches, and more, and the instruments were like new.

Now that we've got the instruments home and had time to work with the instruments, my daughter is very happy with the work that Scott has done.

I had a great experience and will definitely be taking my guitars back to SDC if they need work in the future.
