ROGER PARKER CUSTOM TILE

It went VERY WELL!!! Roger is a craftsman in this trade. Over and beyond the scope of work we had in mind. Not only is he a craftsman but a good man. We recommend him in all aspects of his work ethic. He assisted in the design and recommended great product to us. Then, he followed through with his design and made our master bathroom a haven.

Roger is very good at laying tile, however anything else would be a disappointment.

Roger was called to tile our bathroom floors, he also provided ideas and pricing to remodel our master bath with tile. The project started fine, although Roger took several weeks to complete. The final project was not the quality we expected, tile was crooked, the shower door came loose. The worse came several months later when we discovered a leak from the plumbing Roger installed. The drywall had to be removed, the plumbing repaired. We decided to use licensed companies to finalize the repair. When we spoke to Roger about what we needed to do he said the project is no longer warranted. We are taking further action to recover the $1,000 is repairs.

I should have arranged for Roger to install my floor in 2015 when we first had the leak. Roger is GREAT even when he had to correct issues with my floor repairs from the leak that the other company did not do correctly (they did not rebuild the subfloor correctly so Roger had to). He is a perfectionist with superb attention to detail. He is also creative, and will make suggestions about the design, color, etc., but works within the budget he is given. He also goes above and beyond. For example, I mentioned that while the toilet was off I wanted to replace the toilet seat. He was picking up supplies at Lowes one day and picked up a toilet seat for me (based on the kind I said I wanted), then proceeded to install it for me. I never intended for him to install it for me. Roger installed the flooring in the rooms effected by the leak: kitchen, laundry room, hall and half bathroom. We also decided to have Roger install the same flooring in the family room. The project took about 7 weekdays, but he had a lot of problems from the flooring installed but the other company that he had to remedy before he could install the new floor. I have already talked to Roger about doing another project for us in December, which would make project #3 with Roger.

Roger was wonderful and we will definitely use him for our future tiling projects. Roger met us at the tile store and helped us pick out tile even before we accepted his bid, going way beyond the other Angie's list tilers. He helped us select great tile and stay within our budget. He was competitively priced and performed exceptional work. He made a shower that was to our taste, making sure to incorporate our input at every turn, he was attentive, very friendly and produced a bathroom that is unique and wonderful. We can't wait to use him again for our future tile projects.

Roger demonstrated all the skills needed for this small and delicate project. His attention to detail was extremely valuable. The overall time dedicated to the task was a good match to other project element schedules. The only misstep (and the reason for a and quot;Band quot;) was an overlooked appointment in the early phase. The happening had no negative consequences and is probably not uncommon for Roger's extremely heavy project load. However, the correct reason may have more to do with Roger's age - memory related. (TAKE THAT ROGER!)

The job they performed was great and it looks nice. The thing which stood out was the quickness in which the job was done.

Roger did a wonderful job and was a helpful, creative, reliable partner in our project at all times. His tile work is excellent, and he thoroughly enjoys creating designs that are attractive and functional. We especially liked the way he uses glass tile. He is a good problem solver who is extremely willing to and quot;meet you where you areand quot; and find a good solution. For example, because our shower enclosure had an unusually large opening, it looked like we might need to purchase an expensive custom door. Roger instead used his construction and tile skills to make the opening smaller so we could use a standard door, and he helped us to obtain the best price on a premium door that showed off the shower enclosure nicely. In every way, he was thorough and attentive to detail. He knew we were cost-conscious, and so he frequently would try to find ways to save money as the project moved forward. For example, we asked him to finish the edges of tile on walls and wainscoting with and quot;pencils,and quot; which are thin, semi-round edgers that apparently are quite costly. Roger showed us that he could use broken pencils and grout to give us attractive, continuous lines of edging at a significant cost savings. We asked Roger to repaint our bathroom suite, and he was as diligent with that part of the job as he was with the tile. He repaired a drywall seam that was showing, even though we said we probably could live with it. Also, he put two full coats of pain on all the walls when many contractors might have tried to get away with a single coat. Roger worked quietly and discreetly, so having him in our home for quite a few days was no problem. He was respectful of our pets and even brought some toys for our cats.

In Jan. we had a leak in our master bathroom and needed to replace our shower pan. Initially we thought we might be able to remove 5 rows of tile to replace the shower pan, but since the tile could not be matched, we ended up replacing the tile in our shower as well as the adjoining garden tub. Due to the leak, we also had to replace our bathroom floor. For the same amount of money our insurance company was going to pay us to replace the vinyl floor, Roger said he would tile our floor. Additionally, he replaced our old wooden base boards with tile base boards. Roger is not only a superb craftsman, but he is an artist. Instead of having to purchase fancy, expensive decorative tile to do a border in our shower / garden tub, Roger suggested using a combination of cracked tile from the shower and the floor which helped keep the cost of the project down without sacrificing the appearance of our bathroom. The shower and garden tub tile work he did was gorgeous! He added a seat in the shower as well as built in shelves to replace the need for a shower caddy. The old wall paper we had detracted from the new tile so Roger removed the wall paper, cleaned the walls, primed and painted the bathroom walls. We also had Roger change the faucets in our double sink, shower and garden tub as well as change the light fixture. Not only is he a talented crafts man, but he is a good and kind person. I was home one day when he was working and I was coming in with groceries. He was in the garage mixing grout (or something) and he stopped what he was doing to help me in with groceries! Also, he was aware of my concern that our dogs or cats would get out when he was coming in or brining supplies in so he took extra care to always make sure the exterior garage door was closed before opening a door to our house. Roger does incredible work for a very reasonable price.

Excellent...roger doesnt use any subs..so it was a long project..and I understand he would need to leave the project here and there to attend to other customers. If you slap dash 24 hour service..don't use roger..but if you want quality...care...craftsmanship...he is definately worth your consideration.

We called Roger and the same day we called he came out, disassembled the shower, cleaned and cemented the seat, resealed and caulked the joints. He did a great job and clearly knew how best to solve this problem. We will definitely call him again with any tile or marble issues.

The job went very well. Roger is a very laid-back guy and is easy to work with. His abilities speak for themselves. He is receptive to your ideas and concerns. A pleasure to be around. We will be using him again soon to install Mexican tiles on the kitchen fireplace.

Roger was very professional and a great guy to work with. Roger's years of experience installing tile really showed as he helped us come up with some value conscious touches that really made the project come out great. Roger did a great job in interpreting what we wanted from our tile installation. He was also able to work around some framing issues related to the age of the house which caused uneven walls. Couldn't be happier with the end result.

We need this project done quickly and Roger worked in the evenings after his already scheduled jobs to meet our deadlines. Roger was very conscientious and worked hard to do what we asked him to do. We would use him again.

Roger made a last minute change in his regular schedule to work in my job as he knew that I had to get it done. We had some trouble with the backing on the natural stone but he was able to solve the problem due to his years of experience.(The problem was from the manufacturer, not Roger.) He did the natural stone work for me in a day and also went above and beyond the job by doing some extra things to help me because I had expressed concern on how to do it. i.e; installing the toilet in the bathroom. Roger was prompt, efficient, professional and provided an excellent result.

Mr. Parker showed up when he said he would, performed his estimate, and made several suggestions that had not been mentioned by others we had spoken to. His installation work was exceptional, easily making changes to the project with no complaints, and actually made some suggestions which saved us money. Mr. Parker's work was amazing, and he cleaned up every day. We have received numerous comments about both the quality of the work and the creative aspects of it. Mr. Parker's creative ideas helped transform a nice tile job into a real piece of art. Mr. Parker's fees were in line with others, but he did not use every single minor change as an opportunity to increase his fees as other contractors have done, and in fact, some of his suggestions resulted in savings. We cannot recommend Mr. Parker enough!
