Rocky's Tree Service

I used them 3 times. His opinions and diagnosis of some tree problems were way off and we spent a lot more money then we should have.We had an ash trees in our backyard that had branches snapping off for no reason. In our area, in a lot of areas, there's a big problem with ash borers boring trees. We had felt form the beginning that it was a problem with those insects. He came over, trimmed the tree, and said then we should just trim it would be alright. And if that stuff keeps happening we should cut the tree down. We didn't hire him to cut it down because he had already charged us double to trim it. We don't feel too good about Rocky's.

Couldn't have ask for a better job, given the situation.

Rocky knows his work, is as honest and amiable as all getout. The low price for this work amazed us! He employed separately a man to come later and grind out the stumps. (Of the total $1250 payment, we paid Terry $250 to do the grinding).

He did all the cutting work himself. He was a true lumberjack and didn't need to use boom trucks or any of the heavy mechanical equipment that is guaranteed to tear up a yard. He had a couple of young men helping with the cleanup which resulted in an excellent job. I was surprised that he did it all in one day. I will be calling him again to remove more trees. He also provided me with his insurance papers and the phone number of his agent for verification.

He arrived on time for estimate, for four days of work. Rocky and his crew were polite and professional.We are definitely going to hire him again for the removal of the remaining ash trees.

They did a very good job. I used them becasue they dont use a very big lift truck. They cleaned up everything very well.

Rocky and his helper were absolutely amazing -- very fast and did a great job. I am very particular about cutting branches properly because I know if they are not right, it can invite insects. I was very happy with the way he trimmed all of the trees, and I thought the price was very reasonable. Cleanup was fast and excellent! Rocky is very professional -- a good man, and his helper was polite and efficient. I would definitely call them again.

He was prompt, very reasonable, kind, cleaned everything up.

They made sure none of the branches damaged the house or deck. Raked up all leaves, small branches, etc. Used blower to clear all saw dust, etc., from driveway. Were fast and great. We have used Rocky's for years for all our tree work and have always been happy with them.

All went very well! Using a pulley and rope system, Rocky and his co-worker were able to drag the base of this very large tree from the water where they could cut it up for removal. Upon arival, Rocky, his associate and his wife Tammy, were a trio on a mission. They worked non-stop for approximately 6.5 hours. Rocky and his associate handled the "heavy lifting" portion of the job. Tammy helped with logistics, clean-up and manuvering the 4-wheel pick-up used to drag the tree from its landing spot, to the area it was cut-up. Following their efforts, Rocky and his associate were caked with water and mud from the creek, but they managed to make this difficult and hazardous task apear easier THAN IT WAS! I obtained several quotes before selecting Rocky's Tree Service. Their bid was in-line with the others, but came in a little less. Because of that, the fact that they were able to do the job the day after they quoted it, and they came highly recommended by Angie's List users, I elected to go with Rocky's Tree Service, and I'm quite happy that I did. I would use Rocky again and as such, I would recommend Rocky's Tree Service to my family and friends.

Quoted $375, we did not go with them since they would of had to find a different company to grind our stumps down, we also had scheduling issues with them.

Excellent work. Crew was professional and cleaned up everything. Price was reasonable compared to anyone else. Arrived when expected and completed job early. Would use again in the future.

After agreeing to the price Rocky and a crew member came out and took down the tree and cleaned up in about 5 hours on the next day I was very happy with the price and the job

It went very well overall. Rocky was very fair in his price. We got the quote from Rocky a year before we had the work done. He had no problem honoring the original quote, even though so much time had passed. We got a couple of other quotes, all in a similar price range. We chose Rocky because he was easy to work with and very accommodating of our schedule. They took down the large tree in five hours, with no damage to the house or the deck. Rocky trimmed down the stump so we could cover it with decking and then they cleaned it all up. We were very satisfied with how well they cleaned up the backyard. They even offered to stack our firewood for us. Rocky is really good about double checking all the details of the job to make sure they are providing the services you want. The cabling and tree trimming were really fast and done well.

Rocky did great, as always. The tree was infested with ash borers and the branches were overhanging our roof. There was no way Rocky could cut the tree and let it fall because of nearby shrubery, trees and the house. He cut it branch by branch from the top and haled it all away. No damage at all to the house, shrubs, etc. We have called on him numerous times and will do so again. In September of 2012 Rocky and Anthony cut down four trees in our back tard that were either dead or almost dead and leaning over our fence. Hauled everything away and cut the stump of one to the ground so we could mow over the spot. I think he charged $400 for the whole job. Last year Rocky cut apart and hauled away an old tree house that was wedged between four trees next to the creek. It had become unsafe as the trees grew. He charged $100 for that job. He always does a great job!

Rocky and his crew arrived on time, worked steadily, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They were pleasant, professional, friendly, and did a great job. There was no heavy equipment so my lawn was undamaged. I will hire them again if I need another tree removed.

In January 2012 Rocky and Tammy came to quote trim work on two trees. I selected his service to have the work done based upon his description of the trimming, customer service and price. Early in March I called Tammy to arrange an appointment that was agreeable for both of us. The day of the appointment Rocky called to advise he was on his way. He and his crew arrived on time as scheduled. We reviewed work to be done to the trees. Rocky and I agreed with choices of trimming as each limb was cut. His knowledge was useful to make the cuts look natural. Once work was complete the clean up was excellent. I will continue to use Rocky for all future work. The quality of service for the price was the best choice from many quotes. Tammy is a great assistant for scheduling the appointments. She is an excellent coordinator and important to the organization of the business. Sue G.

Rocky was there on time and cleaned up better than any tree service I have ever used. There was nothing left but some sawdust.

Rocky did all the trimming—he is very skilled at removing large limbs and making sure they are safely lowered to the ground with the help of his team. He also "felled" the sycamore in a very tight area and it came down exactly where he planned. I'm very confident that he knows what he is doing when climbing, trimming and felling trees—his work is very hard to do. Rocky and his wife, Tammy were very pleasant to work with and I would use them again. Thank you Rocky for making my trees safe!

Excellent service from start to finish. Sent email to provider via A's List site..received a phone call within an hour even though it was a Saturday. Rocky and his wife came on Sunday to give me an estimate. Following my wishes re: what I wanted done with the trees, he gave me a detailed description of how job would be done, where cuts would be made, expected results. Even though a busy time, returned with his crew 3 days later and completed the work (they noltified me the night before and again went over plans when they arrived to do the trimming). Trees severely pruned as I wished but within good tree trimming guidelines. Trees are now well shaped and back awayfrom the house and fence and sidewalk. He even cut off a dead limb on another tree...no additional charge. Best tree-trimming job I have ever had done. I have had trees pruned by other highly rated AngielsList providers but often the pruning was limited and the trees were overgrown again within a year. I am confident this job will last a while. Hauled all limbs away and raked the areas around the trees. Crew was clean, pleasant and efficient. Price for 3 hours of hard work was more than reasonable. Will use this provider again in the future and highly recommend them.

Excellent service. Rocky was on time, his estimate came in lower than every other company. He completed the job the same day. They cleaned up the yeard completely. Rocky also cut the wood into pieces good for our fire place and put it all in a nice neat pile in the backyard, which was above and beyond in my eyes. He was trustworthy and professional, I highly recommend and would use him again.
