Rocky's Tree Service

Rocky, (the owner) came out right away after our initial talk and gave a fair estimate. The work was done about a week later. Rocky was very prompt, honest & trustworthy. He referred me to someone to remove the stumps. The total cost was less than any of the other estimates & completed quicker than any other companies I talked to could even come out to my property! I would definitely use Rockys tree service again!

Everything went very well. The price was very reasonable, the service excellent and they did a good job of cleaning up leaves and limbs.

Rocky was quick to respond and set up an appointment for an estimate. His price was lower than the other estimate we received. He arrived promptly, he and two others took down the tree, cut it into manageable pieces and hauled it all away. He needed to stop just short of cleaning everything up because of rain, but returned the next day and cleaned the yard and deck. He was prompt, fast and professional.

It was a huge job. He started on Monday, arrived on time. He worked for a few hours each day for the next 3 days. Feld 3 of the very large trees with perfect precision. Hauled all wood away and cleaned up all remaining debris. I used Rocky 6 years ago and I gave him a high rating then also. He is insured, which was a requirement of our homeowner's insurance.

Rocky's had the best price and did a good job 2 years back. However, one part of the job included placing a large "sling" on a V shaped tree. The sling popped off shortly after and for two years Rocky's has ignored my requests to reinstall the sling. If the tree were to split during a storm it would damage my home. Recently I asked for a quote on cutting 4 more trees, after two weeks I still have not received a reply. My impression is that they do not want to perform the repair on their earlier work.

Rocky tied a rope to the tree and then to his Suburban and pulled the tree away from damaging anything and this way it would fall in our cul de sac. The tree came down with out damaging anything.... Rocky cut it up in to logs so we could split them into fire would. He also loaded up the brush and hulled it away. Cleaned up the area very nicely. We were very happy with the job. We used Rocky before and he is very knowledgeable and reasonable on price. We would definetly use him again.

Very friendly and crew was also very nice. There were only 3 guys and our tree was enormous but they worked hard all day and finished the job and cleaned up the mess. Was vey pleased with the work. He also had someone call me about grinding the stump and that has also been done.

They did a good job. They did exactly what they were supposed to do.

Excellent service and responsiveness as well as sensitivity to customer needs. Came out for free estimate within a couple of days of calling. Performed the work to my timeline and was promptly on the job at time communicated. Did exactly what I wanted done. I am very picky about my trees, and Rocky made cuts and trims precisely where I requested and made further cuts on dead wood without my even having to ask. The safety measure Rocky and his crew took were very impressive, for himself when climbing/cutting, and for his crew on the ground. Area was cleaned up better than before they started work. Add on work requests- once the job started were priced very well, got a lot more done for my money than I ever dreamed possible. Great experience and the best, after using other tree trimmers for 30+ years and comparing Rocky's to all other providers.

Faster and less expensive than expected. Prompt, courteous and I will definitely use them again.

I contacted Rocky's through Angie's list on 5/29/14, got a response back on 5/30/14 requesting my address, responded on 5/31/14 with my address, never heard a thing from Rocky's until today (6/24/14), with a response saying, "sorry, but we don't go that far". My response to Rocky's, "sorry, but I wouldn't use your service if you did?" Almost a month before they respond to an inquiry??? With that type of response to an inquiry, what would happen if I hired them to do the job??

I CONTACTED ROCKY'S BECAUSE ANOTHER SERVICE HAD BAILED ON MY JOB. I WAS UNDER A TIME CONSTRAINT BECAUSE OF NEW SIDING GOING UP. BASED ON OTHER REVIEWS ON ANGIE'S LIST, I CONTACTED THEM AND LEFT A MESSAGE. WITHIN 20 MINUTES I WAS CONTACTED AND AN APPOINTMENT TIME WAS SET UP TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. THEY GAVE ME AN EXCELLENT ESTIMATE AND PERFORMED THE WORK ON THE DAY SCHEDULED WHICH WAS WELL WITHIN MY TIME CONSTRAINTS. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB AND HAULED EVERYTHING AWAY, EVEN THINGS THAT WERE NOT YARD DEBRIS. WITHIN A FEW DAYS, THEIR STUMP CONTRACTOR CALLED AND DID THE STUMP REMOVAL. IF YOU WANT A HARD WORKING, RESPONSIBLE AND TIMELY AND WELL PRICED COMPANY TO DO ANY OF THE ABOVE, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMED ROCKY'S. ROCKY AND HIS CREW WERE HIGHLY PERSONABLE AND WERE A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH. I WILL DEFINITELY CALL THEM AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

They’re typically very professional and punctual, and I’m happy with them. Generally, you get what you pay for with Rocky’s Tree Service. He had a separate contractor come out to grind the stump, but that didn’t work out too well because no one could get ahold of him afterwards to finish the job. That incident was a little disappointing, but otherwise we’re generally happy with them.

They did a great job taking down a large tree in a crowded lot with close neighbors. Hauled off all the wood and mulch and ground the stump all the way down. They even tossed in taking down and grinding the stump of a small, diseased tree in the front yard for free. Nice people.

Rocky performed all of the work requested. He was prompt in getting the work scheduled. He seems very skilled and comfortable climbing up into the trees. All work was cleaned up when he was done. I will use Rocky again for other medium duty tree work. My only concern was that a month after the job he put a "Rocky's Tree Service" sign in my yard with out asking and it was just 2 days before we were going to have an Open House at our home so I asked him to come and get the sign which he did.

They were very careful about not wanting to make ruts in the yard by driving truck on the lawn in order to pull out the shrubs. They solved it by backing their much lighter trailer up to the shrubs and connecting chains to the shrubs and trailer and pulled them out that way. They did a very good job cleaning up. I previously had used them to trim some trees and take out some arborvitae that had winter kill. I was very pleased with their knowledge of various trees.

They did an excellent job cleaning up after the tree was down. We will definitely use them again in the future.

We have used Rocky on at least 3 other occasions to remove dead or dangerous limbs from our 90 foot trees.. He is a "climber" does not use a bucket truck but has been able to trim what needed to be done. Always fair & cleans up after he's done.

It went well. I have used the service before and they are very responsible and thorough. The only drawback is their voicemail was not working properly.

They were good. They were reliable and came on time. Their price was the best that I got.

It went fine. They did a good job. I think Rocky is very hard working. He came early to beat the rush hour traffic in the afternoon which is understandable because he lives on the other side of town. He is a little rough around the edges but he's a good guy with a good heart.
