I called Rocky's after reading about him in the Angie's List magazine. He and his wife Tammy took my call while driving their puppy to the vet. They promised me quick response when they learned that I was an Angie's list customer. They came by the house the same day to scope out the work. He called me that afternoon with an estimate, which was much lower than an estimate I already had from another company. He said he could do the job tomorrow. The next day, I watched him deftly climb trees and manipulate his ladders, ropes, and chain saws. He removed very large limbs from two different trees and trimmed trees away from the house. He was skillful, professional, and a delight. I will recommend him to everyone.

Rocky responded shortly after our call to come an give us an estimate. The tree work was scheduled and he came on the day when it was scheduled. He took out all of the trees as requested and did a nice job of trimming trees that needed to be cut back over our power lines. I was not at home when he did his work, but my wife reported that he did exactly the work that we requested and was able to add on the work that we realized after the initial estimate. She commented that he does all of his work by climbing up into the trees rather than use a bucket or a lift. All limbs and debris were taken away and the work area was cleaned up afterwards.

We were very pleased that Rocky and his two men could remove the tree the very day after Rocky came to give us an estimate. The work was done meticulously. The trunk was at least 12- 15" diameter with very high branches. He also trimmed a Dogwood that had gotten out of hand. Excellent work all the way around!

We called Rocky on a Friday and he was there the next day to give us an estimate. He and his crew did an excellent job trimming our trees, cutting up the wood, cleaning off the roof, and cleaning off our patio and yard. They cut and stacked the firewood neatly. They did an excellent job, were very professional and their price was great! We will use Rocky's services again and will recommend him to neighbors, family and friends--WELL DONE!!!

Rocky is a WINNER! He and his helper did a fantastic job at a fantastic price! After seeing the job he did, I would not even dream about calling anyone else the next time. Because of the size of the job, I got bids from four tree services. Rocky's price was 65% of the average price quoted by the other three companies, saving me (any my neighbor) over $1,600. What's the difference? The other three companies, who were all within $200 of each other, are what I call "equipment" companies, i.e. they do the job using very expensive equipment, like motorized high lifts and bucket trucks, from which the guys work. They have to cover the big cost of buying such equipment and maintaining it which drives up the prices they have to charge to cover their costs and make a profit. On the other hand, Rocky is a "climber," a trade he learned as a teenager from his father who was also a "climber." He does not use any expensive equipment. He does it all with his small truck, his chain saw and some ropes. With those "tools" he took down a very old tall Hickory tree that was leaning toward my house. Watching him practice his "art" was a thing of beauty. He first trimmed the branches from the tree, lowering them to the ground using the ropes. Then he tied the tree off with two ropes each attached to a truck to insure the tree would not fall on the house. Next he took a sight line on where he wanted the tree to fall and started cutting his notch. It was not long before the tree was on the ground precisely along the sight line he had planned. It was neat watching him. What skill! The other trees came down is the same fashion, but did not require the ropes to tie them off. Then he and his crew cut up the trees, hauled them away (I did not want fire wood), and cleaned up the whole place. A few days later (the rain played a big part in the delay), his stump grinding subcontractor came by and ground the stumps from the trees and bushes. He, too, did a very good job. It was excellent! They were efficient, left the area as clean as they found it, and had a great price. They also cut the wood and piled it neatly for us.

They did a great job. Some of the trees were dead and very tall. They took great care to drop the trees without damaging our property. They also did a great job cleaning up after the job. My yard looked better after they left than before they did the job.

When we bought our house on Mud Creek the previous owner had allowed a log jamb to build up. Over the years trees had fallen across the creek. With each flood (3-4 a year) more logs and debris accumulated to the point where the jamb was so huge that it was causing additional flooding upstream. Even the big tree cutting companies would not touch it! We finally found one that would. (Not Rocky's because we didn't know him yet and it required 7 men 1 1/2 days and a Bob Cat on tracks with a winch.)It ended up costing us $6,000 to have that log jamb removed! It was a nightmare! Ever since then we have any tree that falls across the creek removed before we get another jamb. Rocky always comes out, usually the same day we call, and does just what he says for the price quoted. We had him do a lot of work on the trees in our yard last year including trimming 7 or 8 trees, removing several dead ones, hauling away all the limbs, etc., cabling two trees that would have split at the crotches if he had not done so, etc. He charged about $400 total for all that and he even fixed a sagging corner of our deck! He and his wife, Tammy, are great!

They were real friendly and they cleaned up real good. They did a real good job on cleanup and it was done in one day. The price was good and it was $100 or $200 lower than anybody else. They do excellent work. They showed up on time and did everything on time. They worked hard until they had everything done. They knew what they were doing with trees.

Their pricing was good and they did and excellent job. They weren?t very punctual. I would use them again if need be.
