Robin and Chad were great to work with in building our new lake home. The house is completely custom and has a lot of detail, specialty work and unique features. Robin and Chad were endlessly patient and professional in helping us achieve the look and feel we envisioned. In addition, the home was built during a time of supply chain issues and pricing challenges. These challenges were handled professionally. We always felt like we were on the same team with Robin Campbell Builders and they went above and beyond to deliver what we wanted. We love our new home!

Our home turned out really well, the builder has the clients best interests. We had an issue with our counter tops and they dragged their feet to correct. Our builder pushed them to make it right.

We were impressed by the professionalism and care taken by the subcontractors and were thrilled to see progress happen almost every single day on our home. It went well. Changes needed to original floor plan were made with no problem. Very patient with questions. Everything up front and transparent. Very pleased with the everything from foundation to finishing touches. Extremely responsive to any and every request. I could not have asked for a better experience and result. My wife and I were first time builders and used Robin Campbell Builders to design and construct our custom home. We highly recommend them to anyone thinking about building a home and would definitely work with them again! We did a lot of research on home builders in the Indianapolis area and met with several in person to talk about their process. Building a house can be very stressful and time-consuming and we wanted to work with someone we liked, we could trust, and who could help transform our ideas and wants into a home design within our budget. We chose Robin and Chad for those exact reasons and are very glad we did. They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They were patient and very thoughtful in offering different perspectives and ideas on how to control cost, deliver the design we wanted, and increase the value of our home. They made the process as simple and painless as possible and provided regular updates along the way. We feel there are a couple of things that differentiate Robin and Chad from other builders: 1) They were extremely responsive to our many questions. We had a lot of questions along the way and they responded quickly (often within a couple hours) and made sure we felt heard. They used group texts and emails to make sure we were all on the same page in every step of the process. 2) Robin and Chad treated our budget and money like it was their own. They provided regular updates on costs and worked very diligently to stay in budget, often offering suggestions on how to reduce costs. 3) Their commitment to detail and quality is excellent. They also monitored the job site and construction regularly to ensure everything was top notch. Many people have asked us, “Would you use Robin Campbell Builders again?” Our answer is a definite YES! Their experience, expertise, and approach helped us build a great home that we enjoy.

We used Robin Campbell Builders (RCB) for designing and building our new home. Robin and Chad met with us before we started to show us some designs of homes they have done and their process. We were impressed and met with them at a customer’s home to view a home that had been recently completed. We enjoyed seeing the craftsmanship and attention to detail. We involved Chad and Robin in the process of picking a lot for their option on buildability and design of the home on the lot. With their expertise we decided on a lot and made the purchase. After purchasing the lot we found some home designs we liked but they needed changes, add a room here, change this wall here, remove this, add this. We sent this to Robin and Chad and got back some drawings in a few weeks. We made some more changes and got a finished design within about 3 edits. Building a custom home takes time and took us about a year start to finish, with 6 mo. of that being construction and prior 6 mo. planning and securing financing. Working with Robin and Chad that long for this project, there were some hurdles and disagreements but all were handled professionally by RCB. We would use RCB again if we needed to, but we hope we don’t need to as we have our forever home. We worked with several of their subcontractors during the build process and most of them were great and easy to work with. There are always struggles along the way, but RCB met those professionally and kept us in the loop with any issues. We loved working with the framing crew, finish carpenter, painters, plumber, electricians, flooring, and lumber providers to name a few. Each sub did great work and Robin and Chad made sure our needs were met and quality work was done. We highly recommend using RCB for your new home construction or renovation needs.

Fantastic workmanship and customer service. We hired them to do our "dream" expansion to give our house a large Master bedroom and bath room along with a large walk in closet. All the crews for the specific task(electrical, plumbing, masonry) were all skilled in their craft and respectful of the home environment and those residing there. The original time estimate was delivered. Then not long after this work was completed, a new job opportunity required us to relocate. So sad to leave our newly expanded and updated home. When the home inspection was completed there were minor repairs needed on the property and in the other areas of the home beyond the new expansion. We were already moved out of state at this time. We knew the reliability of Robin and Chad and totally trusted them to execute what was needed at this time. They once again delivered excellent work in record time, which allowed us to move quickly into a successful close on our Indiana home. We have done expansions on several of our homes and these gentleman manage an excellent service with great results and Christian values. Highly recommended.

It went shockingly well and that is ENTIRELY because of Robin and Chad. We got bids from 2 contractors. Robin's was more affordable, organized, timely, and concise which made it a very easy decision. In the first 2 minutes of the initial walk-through he chopped off 3 unnecessary (and expensive) items that the other contractor said we needed. He also let me see the quotes he got from his vendors and was very clear about how much we'd be charged for his time, his superintendent's time (Chad), and overhead. The transparency was amazing and made it very easy to trust him with our money. During construction, Robin would periodically send me an updated cost sheet so that I knew what the loan draws were going toward and the status of the budget. He was involved with the money aspects and Chad managed the construction. Chad was on-site nearly every day and was incredible at coordinating all of the work. He paid close attention to the details and kept everything very organized (and clean). I'm most appreciative of the kindness he displayed during my freak-outs. There were only a few unforeseen things that popped up (way less than I expected given the age of the house and the size of the project), Chad and Robin did a good job shielding us from the chaos and were always very clear about what needed to be done and how much it would cost. They were VERY flexible with all the last minute changes and ideas I had (sorry guys!) and put a lot of effort was put into saving us money. Chad would return materials if we ended up not needing them, didn't throw anything from the original house away without talking to us, and helped figure out ways to use what we had (old built-in cabinets used in the laundry room, brick removed from the exterior for the fireplace, re-used light fixtures and a shower door). It was awesome to know that he was treating our money as if it were his own. After construction was done, my husband and I assumed that they would be annoyed at the nit-picky items we wanted to point out during the final walk-through but they ended up being even more nit-picky! Robin even brought some kind of light that would show uneven paint on the walls. Everything was touched up the next day. Overall, the project was completed on-time and under budget (pretty unheard of). We LOVE the final product and can't thank them enough. I 100% recommend using them.

The Campbells and their crews are top notch professionals. From the time that we contacted them for a simple estimate until ground was broken was just a couple of weeks. We were informed on timelines, payment schedules, construction goals, and accomplishments on a regular basis and very much felt included in the entire process. They were able to modify our original ideas and offer suggestions that enhanced our original vision. As we suggested changes throughout the process they were very receptive and prompt in adapting to our new plans. The quality of work was impressive and the end products were better than we imagined. Modifications and renovations were made to a home that was originally built in 1968 and it now looks like a brand new home. I would highly recommend the Campbells and would be happy to speak with anyone considering contracting them in the future.

I think it’s important to note that it is widely accepted and known that building a house is a stressful, emotional process that often involves unanticipated “surprises!” That being said, overall, we had a positive experience working with Robin and Chad at Robin Campbell Builders. We started our home building process by meeting with Robin and drafting up a set of plans. From there, we purchased property and began construction. Before we ever signed a contract with Robin, he met with us to evaluate a few pieces of property (even bringing out a subcontractor when we had concerns about the grade of the land). Once we started the building process, we felt that they did a good job advocating for us with their subcontractors when things didn’t go as planned. They were up front with us regarding costs, change points, etc. They were also very responsive to our questions/requests and flexible to accommodate our schedules. We made it a priority to make timely decisions in order to not delay the process, and we feel that they worked hard to keep up progress on our home despite beginning our build in the winter. We appreciated that they allowed us to source some of our own materials/products so that we could maximize cost savings. We hope to utilize them in the future for a 2nd garage.

When we made the decision to build, my wife and I knew that we were stepping into uncharted waters. Neither of us had any design or construction experience, and we lacked the tribal knowledge to avoid common pitfalls. With that in mind, it was important to find a builder who would also be our trusted partner. We needed a experienced and knowledgeable guide to help us create the home of our dreams. That's exactly what we found at Robin Campbell Builders! From the onset, we had lots of questions. Questions on design style, materials, contractors, project timing, budgeted cost, recommendations. After numerous face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails, and design revisions, we realized how fortunate we were to work with Robin as our builder. We never felt rushed. He was patient and supportive to ensure that we were comfortable with the decisions we were making. Although we lacked experience, we weren't naive to think that there wouldn't be complexities that would pop up along the way. We expected a certain amount of conflict and difficult conversations during the build. When the first curve ball was identified, I felt compelled to pull together significant amounts of information and justification to highlight the issue and find a resolution. It wasn't necessary. After that initial instance, I realized that they are solely focused on customer satisfaction. From that point forward, I realized that Robin Campbell Builders was going to be a lot easier to work with than I had anticipated. One of the other great things about this company is that Robin and Chad have strong relationships with many extremely talented and professional contractors. With that, they were also very open and comfortable working with vendors of our choosing. They are completely transparent with all the pricing and scheduling which made for a very comfortable and trusting relationship. Through diligence and oversight, Robin and Chad were able to save a significant amount of money compared to our budget, and we were able to leverage that savings into additional enhancements in our home. Throughout the process both Robin and Chad were great about listening to our ideas and finding options to turn them into reality. They were regularly advocating on our behalf, and we could not have been more fortunate. For us, trust is the key characteristic that stands out with Robin Campbell Builders. They take personal ownership and pride in the build process and work to ensure that the needs of the homeowner are met. We are extremely happy with our new home, and the result is a custom home that exceeds our dreams!

We met with Robin while interviewing builders and felt really at ease with his demeanor and knowledge. He took the time to meet with us prior to the purchase of our lot to confirm our vision was possible. We came to him with a general design and he was able to have it drawn up into a workable blueprint at a very reasonable cost (and at no fee to us once we signed to build with him.) Between the time we bought our lot and started our design process, Robin had brought in his son, Chad, as superintendent. They work well together as a team to get things done and are just generally nice people. We were able to complete our build in a timely fashion and with minimal cost overruns. As with any building/ remodeling project, issues will come up and Chad and Robin were very quick to address them to our satisfaction. I could email them and someone could be on site within a couple of hours to discuss something with me, even with other projects going at the same time. We never felt neglected during the build, and they have been very prompt to address any minor issues that we have had since moving in. We love our new home and have received many compliments from friends and neighbors. If we ever decided to build another home or want to finish our bonus space, we would not hesitate to call Robin Campbell Builders again.

After finding the perfect lot, we spoke to some neighbors about their custom build experience. One neighbor highly recommended Robin Campbell Builders, so we gave him a call and we are so glad we did. What we liked best about working with Robin is his genuine personality - he's real but professional. He took the floor plan we picked out and tweaked the design to best fit our needs. His design was free, which we really appreciated. He was up front about what would work and what wouldn't. Robin did the math and kept us within our budget. The finished product exceeds our expectations. We absolutely love the openness and feel of our new home. Our favorite features include the fireplace, the kitchen, and the daylight basement. We presented Robin with a picture of a fireplace we found on Pinterest. Our new fireplace looks exactly like the picture and we love to tell guests that the mantle is made of concrete (it looks just like wood!). The kitchen was also really important to us. Robin always pointed us in the right direction - our granite countertops and Amish cabinets are functional and beautiful! The daylight basement was also Robin's idea. The large windows make the space feel warm and inviting, plus there's plenty of room for entertaining, which we love to do. We love our new home. The process was smooth and we are so happy that Robin helped us bring our dream home to life. We couldn't have asked for a better builder!

We had a great piece of land and Robin and Chad were able to make it even better with a gorgeous house. They were very patient and responsive with us. Robin communicated throughout the process. He kept an eye on the details and made recommendations that exceeded our expectations while staying within budget. We were incredibly pleased with Robin Campbell Builders during the entire process of building our dream home. We interviewed about eight different builders, with Robin being the last based on reviews we read on Angie's List. His company had good marks across the board. When we met with Robin we immediately felt at ease. He is extremely laid back which may cause you to pause at first because there is so much involved with custom building, but trust me it works better this way and helps to minimize the stress throughout the process. Robin's pricing was very competitive. He has been building houses for decades and has some good contacts with discounted pricing that I believe are best in market for certain trades. Other builders have hidden mark-ups. Not with Robin. What you see is what you get. If you go over, it was a concerted choice to go over on your part. He did very good staying within budget on our home. We had some overages, but they were strictly by choice and for things that were not originally in scope. I highly suggest connecting with Chad (Robin's son) throughout the process, as well. Chad was amazing with staying in constant contact, meeting at the house virtually on demand, and knowing the status of all the major trades at all times. Robin and Chad work great together as a combo and it is clear why they are having so much success now - word of mouth. If you do go with Robin, some advice that he gave us that I will give you - don't try to get everything done at once. Knock out one thing at a time (garage doors, windows, flooring, etc.) and in mostly sequential order and you will be fine and will not get overwhelmed. Like with any build. there are going to be a few things along the way that will need to be corrected. The Campbells were all over these needed corrections and took care of everything in an expeditious manner. Really the only thing I would suggest as an improvement would be ensuring the job site is cleaner. We, as many builders of custom homes, are neat freaks. The job site was frequently dirtier compared to other home build sites. The onsite trades should be held accountable for cleanliness. We have no plans to ever build again as we think we truly got the house of our dreams. However, if we ever take crazy pills and decide to build again Robin & Chad would be our first call. Aside from building wonderful homes they are just great, salt-of-the-earth people. That matters in a world where that is becoming more scarce. You will always be in good hands with Robin Campbell Builders

Now Mr Robin Campbell will not be described as a very emotional person but he and his staff can build you a very fine home. We interviewed 3 builders in total and Robin was by far the most affordable for the size of home we were looking to build. The overall experience of build a custom home can be overwhelming be for two working parents but Robin and his staff did an excellent job of communicating with us every step of the way. All of his contractors were professional and they did an excellent job overall all. Although we knew going in that Robin did not have a design team to offer suggestions during the selection process we do wish we had a bit more direction at times to help guide us through some of the selection process. In the end our overall experience was great and if we had to choose again I would certainly chose Robin again.

went well.  work was scheduled quickly and timely with different contractors following in order on schedule to keep the project moving forward.  Contact with the builder was quick and easy.  We are pleased with the results of the project.

All good. Robin and Chad did a great job from start to finish. Great responsiveness. Easy to reach via text, email and phone. Both were easy to work with and flexible as the project evolved. Really pleased with the finished product.

Project went well. Estimate was very close and the home came out well. Robin worked with us early on to refine our original ideas and helped us evaluate different ideas with an eye to our budget. He was very responsive and easy to contact. He was available to meet at his office or the house as needed and any issues were taken care of quickly.

The project went beautifully.  We had a vision, and he created the dream for us.  Our home went from an outdated house with good "bones" to an amazingly beautiful home where we can live and make memories.  Robin's attention to detail was very much appreciated.  He kept track of the contractors and all of the pieces of the job with ease.  He was enjoyable to work with, was constantly on site checking on the project, and his subcontractors seemed trustworthy and worked hard.

We have never been involved in a remodel project like this and had no idea how much work it actually entailed.  We were so thankful to have Robin in charge of the project and handling all of the details and headaches for us.  

We highly recommend Robin. Robin handled the 2012 project from conception through execution and completion with total professionalism. Equally importantly, he recommended design ideas and finishing touches that made the difference between average and excellent, such as suggesting building out a wall to create the needed space for the kitchen pantry, and that we add steps off the complete length of the redesigned deck to eliminate the need for view-blocking railings. Also, he suggested an impressive new window design in the 18 foot wall in the great room to let in more light, and that we add crown moulding throughout as a needed design touch. When there were problems, he addressed them with us in a fair manner and our job was completed with his skilled teams of subcontractors on time and on agreed terms. Robin promised that we would be happy with the result, and we were. We appreciated that Robin was honest and was always a pleasure to work with, which is why we have chosen him to manage our current remodel project. We are often complimented on the quality of the design and finish of our completed remodel. Our current refinish project is pending, but we are very pleased again with Robin's responsiveness and the excellent contractor pricing that he has passed along to us for our flooring.

The project turned out perfectly, and Robin and his team made it look like the addition was built with the house. He is obviously very familiar with his subs, and that's key to a project of this size.The rooms look beautiful, and everything turned out exactly as promised. We've gotten a lot of compliments, and more than one of our friends have asked for Robin's contact information after seeing the end results of our project. All in all, we're very happy we chose him for the work.

We started working on this project in February of 2014 with a cabinet maker that was recommended to us.  Given the scope of what we wanted to accomplish, they recommended a builder to us.  Unfortunately, that builder didn't take our project seriously.  After 8 months, we had the architectural plans done, but the builder would not give us a firm start date.  We went back to the cabinet makers and asked if they had another recommendation, and that's when they pointed us to Robin Campbell Builders.

Robin made an appointment to come out and take a look at the project within a week or two of our contacting him.  He walked through the house quietly, asking questions where necessary, but by and large it looked like he was just absorbing what needed to be done.  We discussed a potential budget and he said he'd have something rough to us within the week, and he delivered the rough estimate as promised.  It was slightly higher than the first builder, but again, I don't think the first builder considered us seriously, and I expect that we would have gone over budget significantly with him.

We agreed and Robin sent over a contract, which we signed in mid January.  Robin immediately sent us back a confirmation with some proposed start dates, and work started in earnest on February 12th.  Even before work started, we had an epiphany that we had a half bath upstairs that we might as well roll into the project and have done at the same time, so we emailed Robin, and once again, he sent us an additional estimate in just a few days.  It was well within reason, so we added to the project.

Every single crew Robin had working on our house was clean, polite, courteous and exceptionally professional.  The plumber and painters bear special mention for just being exceptional.  Robin was in constant contact with us regarding next steps, issues that arose, and suggestions on how to improve what we were doing.  He was open to meet any time we needed to discuss issues and was just a pleasure to work with.

It was remarkable that on a project of this scope, we didn't have more issues, and I think that's a testament to Robin's knowledge, skill, and attention to detail.  We had a little bit of "work damage" as the project went through it's paces, but Robin assessed and replaced/repaired/repainted in those few spots that needed it without any questions, and almost always had it done or at least on his "to do" list before we even had a chance to mention it.

When it came to final billing, there were a few discrepancies (in a project of this size and scope, this was no surprise).  Robin sent us the bill and asked if we had any questions.  We asked our questions, he clarified where needed and adjusted where needed, and we had a bill that was exactly what we expected and that we all agreed on.  Honestly, I was expecting this to be a bit of a headache, with some arguing back and forth, but that just wasn't the case with Robin.

The only issue we had at all was the project end.  We ended up running about 2 weeks over the scheduled end date for everything to be completely workable and "move-in-able," and it was about 4 weeks over the end date until all the little details were completely resolved.

Robin Campbell Builders really did transform our home from a dated 1964 house to something that I feel like I'd see in a magazine.  I sit in the kitchen at the bar and just kind of marvel that it's actually my kitchen, and I can't begin to explain how nice our master bathroom is now!
