"[Member Name Removed] was rehabbing a home, all work was done before foundation repairs, mrs went to sell house & an inspection was done & found foundation issues. Raspberry was hired & had an agreement (in writing) to work on 2 walls, work was completed & Raspberry was Paid in Full, another inspection was done & found more work to be done on other walls (Raspberry had not contracted to work in those areas & could not do work without additional funds), mrs hired others to do the additional repairs"
"Yes there was an accident (first one in 28 years, it was unfortunate but he has been back to work for a year now) & the work was slowed down because of it. We strive for perfection but sometimes things happen. We always take leaks seriously & try to repair them ASAP. [Member Name Removed] forgot to mention the leak in her basement (she blamed us for that), crew chief went out several times & finally found the problem (owners downspouts were clogged & caused water to back up). Alot of time, etc. went into finding the problem. Raspberry also installed windows for [Member Name Removed] (prior to working on the roof) & there are no problems."
Raspberry is a SUPER COMPANY with great employees!!!
First of all I'd like to say THANK YOU to Paul (and BillyRay) of Raspberry for caring enough about my situation to come out on a rainy Sunday afternoon to inspect and write up a proposal for my roofing issue.
Paul was urgently responsive, caring and understood my situation of dealing with dampness on the inside that could only get worse with time and rain. He sized up the problem and wrote the proposal ...including an issue on the roof that I wasn't aware of. I was comfortable with the amount charged because Raspberry completed another roofing job on another house for me previously.
I asked Paul if he would be at the job site and he stated he would be. Even though this is the rainy season, he was able to come out on the first nice day......started and completed my job timely and beautifully.
I am very pleased with the roofing job performed....and will definitely call Raspberry for any and all home construction needs I may have in the future.
....sorry I don't have photos, but, take my word for it....THE ROOF LOOKS GREAT AND I AM CONFIDENT there will never be another leak.
THANKS RASPBERRY!!!!
I am very pleased with the job, the work, the crew and my new windows.
Raspberry Building was one of several window repair/replacement companies asked to look at window condition and quote. They responded best to my desire for repair rather than replacement. Management came to house to complete contract after receiving quote.Outside work completed as scheduled before holidays. I agreed to delay inside work until after holidays. Sub-contractor for inside work thought job was directly with me, but Raspberry supervisor quickly resolved any payment issue per contract. Management follow up was great with contract and follow up issue. Quality of work completely met my expectations. I am considering using their services for basement work.
Below is the letter I sent to a Hurd representative in Ohio who finally was able to get us the correct windows ordered. He never returned my email, but instead sent to Raspberry to deal with. I then contacted the national office since I was getting no response.

Hello Mark,
I’d like to apprise you of a situation of which you might not be aware. When I contacted Hurd directly in January of this year my name was given to Raspberry Construction. Raspberry contacted me and I thought I was dealing directly with Hurd. I found out, much later, that this was not the case. In fact, Raspberry said they had never installed a Hurd Window.
This order – Hurd 618173 - is actually a replacement order. This was an order to replace the wrong windows which were installed at my house. Unfortunately, Raspberry received the incorrect windows from your distributor in Indianapolis. I paid Raspberry for the windows before realizing that they were incorrect. He did not come out to oversee the project and to make sure all was well. In fact, I found out later, one set of windows had been mismeasured; the frame of the house had to be rebuilt. That was all for incorrect windows. I am out of the city and lot and have had to pay someone to be there while I was gone. We had to work around their schedule in order to get them in.
I have requested some consideration for my inconvenience and trouble but Raspberry, while very cordial, has refused any assistance beyond installing the correct windows. They responded that they paid for two window orders and felt, despite the difficulties I’ve encountered, that they have taken care of the problem. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered they were returning the incorrect windows and the distributor, who we did not know originally was part of the project, was going to re-sell them. In fact, they were going to make money by taking my originally installed windows back right away. They even had cracked the windows and were going to take back and receive a monetary kickback for paying right away. To add to my disappointment the replacement windows were not installed as discussed. They are the correct windows, just not installed properly.
Hurd, I’m sure, isn’t aware of anything other than they received two orders for windows from Raspberry Construction. The distributor really does not care anymore because, as I’ve been told, he is no longer in the loop. In fact, he lost his license to due poor service and I was told not to contact him again. He told me, in addition to a foreman from Raspberry, that the windows they put in were better than the ones I ordered. I did tell them they were still not what I ordered. I ordered restoration windows to match the decor. There were many other problems in this project. I was told by the contractor "Isn't life interesting" and "Well, life happens". The comments go on.
The only person who cares and has suffered because of this mix up is me. No one seems very interested in my problems or the expenses I've incurred because of the mistake. We are now approaching the 9th month of an order of five windows that all involved said they could easily make and install correctly. This has not been done. Other work had to be put on hold due to this situation.
While I still need to purchase 4 additional Hurd windows next spring, I’m unsure of whom to buy them from considering the seeming lack of care displayed by all involved. I am contacting Hurd directly because I need your help.
I live in the Meridian-Kessler area of Indianapolis that prides itself on its historic homes and renovations. It ranges anywhere from bungalows to mansions, including the Governor's mansion across Meridian Street. I was told Hurd is the historic window to purchase for this area of the city.
"Raspberry Building Corporation has been a licensed General Contractor since 1991. We represent many window manufacturers and install different brands. At no time do we intimate we are a manufacturer. On March 6, 2013, [member name removed] signed a contract with Raspberry to furnish and install 5 Hurd wood clad windows in existing openings. The windows were installed near the end of May 2013. A few days later [member name removed] advised the windows installed were not correct (they did not match the existing bathroom window), I got with my supplier and attempted to find out what went wrong. Apparently, Hurd has 2 different style windows available with simulated divided lites. Unfortunately the wrong model somehow got ordered. Many discussions later (with[member name removed] & the supplier), I was able to reorder new windows. The new set of windows came in in late August for installation and were installed. [member name removed] has acknowledged the new windows are the correct windows & they were installed correctly. The windows were to be installed 'in the existing opening' and were. Apparently [member name removed] is confusing the interior trim on the bathroom remodel & has nothing to do with the window (it is purely cosmetic). Raspberry installed the window correctly using the existing trim (Raspberry was not replacing the interior trim unless it was rotted). It is unfortunate the first set of windows were incorrect. Raspberry made it right & installed the correct windows & fulfilled its obligation under the contract. Th contract states 'Raspberry Building Corporation shall not be liable for delays or damages occasioned by strikes, war, riot, act of God, material shortages or any other conditions unavoidable and beyond its control'."
On a better note - Bone Dry Roofing repaired the problem at a very good price. They were punctual, worked relentlessly until they found the leak, and repaired it immediately!
"The job (removed member name) refers to was completed in 2006, we received a call from (removed member name) about a problem in February 2013 (the roof was out of warranty (6 years after completion). Crew chief was notified to go take a look at the problem, (removed member name) gave us a number to call (she advised call after 11AM), several calls were made & messages left to set an appointment to look at what needed to be repaired, did not receive a call back from (removed member name). The only response was this information on Angies' list. We did not give (removed member name) a price for repairs (we were unable to look at to give a price). I would have appreciated a call back from (removed member name) before a repair (by others) was made."
It was tough to find a contractor that was willing to do or coordinate everything required to install abasement egress window into a location where one didn't exist - excavating the hole for the window well, cutting through the concrete, installing the window and well, and finishing out the interior of room where the window was installed (trimming out the window, moving electrical outlets, repairing drywall, and painting the room). The guys at Raspberry did most of the work themselves (save the concrete cutting) and really did an excellent job.
"Member neglected to advise that the toilets were installed under the medicaid waiver program (A government program to install upgrades to homes for medicaid approved people). Raspberry bid to install 2 ADA (American for Disability Act) toilets to his home & was awarded the work. Before the toilets were installed Member went out shoppping for toilets & picked out the toilets he wanted Raspberry to install (he felt we could install the upgraded toilets for him & 'still make money'). Unfortunately Raspberrys' bid was to install ADA Approved toilets & not upgraded models Member wanted (he was not going to pay anything beyond what medicaid was going to pay). Raspberry installed exactly what it was approved for & bid the job for. The care manager agreed Raspberry fulfilled it's contract & Raspberry was Paid by Medicaid for the job."
They made me a new roof from the deck up in 3 days and every thing was cleanedup after finishing the job.I refer them to any one who needes a new roof at a good estimate.
