The shop charged me $70 to tell me it was broken with no details. Then spent time offering expensive replacement. I found another shop that diagnosed simple repair. When I declined the expensive replacement, I was told I owed for towing along with the $70 diagnostic fee.....I drove the vehicle in. They corrected the bill to the $70, but I am sure they never even looked at the vehicle. Not a good experience.

My starter went out on Friday. We had my car towed to the shop on Friday afternoon, and I got her back on Monday afternoon. They repaired my car, and made sure everything else was secure. There were a few broken parts from an  accident that occurred prior to my ownership. He made sure that these parts were secured, and this was not tacked on to my bill. They do a wonderful job here, and I will continue to bring my car into them when it needs repaired.

It went well and cost about what was expected.   Gave me a list of things that may have to be looked at in the future but did not need attention now.   I have used them for other major services in the past and they are always fairly priced, honest and do good work - except that they did not replace the oil cover correctly once and I had an oil leak.   My first experience was when I took an older Ford Explorer in to check the transmission.   They checked it out and did not charge me anything as there was nothing wrong.    Would absolutely use them for any car repairs.

It went fine. The quality was what I expected. I guess their price was fair. I will consider using them again.

The manager gambled on the possibility that the car might be able to be fixed just by adding transmission fluid I believe because we happened to go back to McKinney Transmission to pick up something we had left in the car and found out that they were attempting to see if the car could be repaired by adding the fluid. We were never given that option, but it was probably a long shot anyway, I would guess. Even so, I would have liked to have had the option to at least try that and see if it would work. All in all, it worked out all right because we got a little money out of a car that would need major repairs and McKinney Transmission got a car that, I found out later, was just sold for parts. They didn't replace the transmission either so they could "keep the guys busy" as was told to me earlier. Probably he just crunched more numbers on it to inform his decision.

They were reasonably prompt.  They communicated well.  They were very honest.

It worked out really well and they did a good job.

They were very forthcoming with what was wrong.  They showed me what they felt needed to be done.  They offered transportation to my home and back.  Every person I had contact with was cordial and respectful. 

They fixed the issue.  It was a little pricey.

We thought that we needed a new transmission based upon how the car was running.  They evaluated the car and determined that we did not need a new transmission.  They added an external cooler to address a design flaw in the car.  They also did a major tune-up and flushed the transmission.  The car is running right as rain.  They also came in at about  $300 less than their estimate because they did not need to replace a sensor.  It was all significantly less than if they had replaced the transmission.  The car is running great!

I did not think that there were any companies left like these guys!  They really care about customers, they care about their work, and they do whatever is necessary to solve the problem.  They care enough that they took days to solve the problem and they did not charge us one additional cent!  I am still amazed. Just in time alone, it had to have cost them a fair bit of money.   This has got to be the most honorable company I have dealt with in at least twenty years.  I cannot recommend them highly enough and plan on taking any and all of my car problems to them from now on. 

We took the car in and the receptionist was great!  She was very friendly and seemed to really care about her customers.  The only thing I would fault them for is calling customers back.  What I mean is that they were supposed to call back on the day we took it in, and we called them the next morning to see what they found.  This was only minor though and the service was really great.  I know it was only a feeling but I felt that I could really trust these people.  Because of their good service, I took another car there a few weeks later - will be on my next review. 

I thought I had a transmission problem but did not. He was unable to pinpoint what was going on with the car so didn't charge me a dime. I would go there again. The owner was very professional and a straight shooter.

They were really nice. I had to bring back the bill to ask a question, but the lady in the office was very helpful. They did a good job. It turns out it was not as expensive as I thought it might be, and I was very happy.

Everything went well. I appreciated that they kept me informed as the repairs progressed and that the total cost was lower than previously estimated.

I was leaking transmission fluid and possibly coolant, so I found this place on Angies List. They were friendly on the phone. Took car in on a Saturday, was helped right away, despite them being down a guy. Told I would receive a call on Monday with an estimate, and they promptly called Monday morning. Gave me an estimate lower than we originally assumed. Was told the work would be done by Thursday, but it was finished by Tuesday afternoon. They were willing to let me pick up late Tues night if I made it in before closing time to pay, but didn't happen due to my schedule restrictions. Instead, they let me come in earlier than normal opening time Wed morning so I wouldn't be late for work. The repairs cost what they said they would and I was out in no time. I was very happy with their prompt and efficient service, friendliness and flexibility to my schedule. And I must also mention that as a woman, I find that sometimes men in the automotive field treat me like I don't know anything and would rather talk to my husband; I did not have any issues with these guys at McKinney's. They were professional and respectful and one man even complimented me on how much I knew about the basic specs of my car. I really appreciated not being talked down to!

I have had my clutch worked on by McK before and in January it froze up, WELL before my clutch was due to go out, so brought it back to McK. The replaced the clutch master cylinder for $300ish and I was on my way, until it froze up again - twice. Last time was less than 6 months ago and they discovered the master cylinder was dry but didn't know why. They fixed, the brake fluid has been fine, yet I had to have the master replaced again today. I've had my 95 Geo Prism in 3-4 times over the past year, since the initial fix. They've been good and fast about getting it repaired, and fair in pricing, but I think they've changed ownership recently so I suspect that the 'deal' I got today was because they f***** up last time. I would go there again, though, as my experiences with them have felt fair.

Had everything done exactly when they said they would. Very clean and professional. They are a bit pricey but they know what they're doing.

They have very good mechanics. They are very honest and are well respected. The quality of their work is good and I have been satisfied with their service.

I was recommended to McKinney Transmission by Hill's Garage. I found the manager to be courteous, honest, and helpful. He allowed me to see my disassembled transmission (spread out over three tables). He showed me the broken part that caused the trouble. The work was completed promptly and the transmission works well. I did not shop the price because I felt the car would receive quality care.
