I cannot say enough good things about our experience with this company and the owner, Sara McDonald. We have two dogs (one who is 17). The dog who is 17 has never been left in a kennel and we were worried how she would react if we had to put her in one. We hired this company to pet sit the dogs. The charge was $65 a night. I didn't price it out this time but I think we would have almost paid the same for two dogs if we had put them in a kennel while we were away. I know they would not have been happy in a kennel. Sara stayed from 8 pm until 8 am and also came at 5:00 pm to feed them. She brought in our mail and trash can while we were away. I e-mailed her while we were away and received a prompt reply. The dogs were very happy when we came back and I am sure they received good care while we were gone. She even put clean sheets on the bed and washed and dried the sheets she slept on. The house looked great. We will hire this company again and recommend her to friends. We had a nice guilt free vacation knowing the dogs were being so well cared for.

Unfortunately, our recent vacation started off very badly. Sara had come over before we left on vacation to meet our two older dogs and, at that time, got both a garage door opener and a key to our house. We originally had good vibes from her and felt our dogs would be in good hands while we were away. However, on our first day of vacation, she came over to our house to feed the dogs and let them out with only the garage door opener, so she couldn?t get in the house to care for them. We had flown almost 1200 miles to Florida earlier that day and didn?t find out there was a problem until later that day. Sara had our son?s phone number as an emergency contact and never contacted him. Isn?t that what an emergency number is for? In fact, she had our older son's phone number as well and neither were called. Our older dogs went for 10 hours without food or being able to go outside. Imagine how this could have ended if one or both of our dogs had needed medication. Thankfully, they didn?t, but they were very anxious and upset when our son came home later that day. We phoned Sara and left her a message after we found out that her check was still on the island in our kitchen. Our hearts sank knowing that something bad had happened. After leaving two messages that went unanswered, we finally got in touch with Sara later that evening and she had to be reminded that we gave her both a garage door opener and a key on a large round blue keychain. She phoned her husband to see if he could locate the key since she was at an overnight stay with another dog. She phoned back to let us know he had found the key and she apologized for causing us any stress. Really?! We were so far from home and felt helpless. Fortunately, our son works close to our home and his fiancé also works nearby. They told us they would make sure the dogs were well cared for in our absence. At one point late Friday night, we were upset enough that we wanted to call off our entire vacation and go home. Because we were going on a cruise, we would have lost a lot of money. Our friends in Florida convinced us to go and try to have a good time since we knew our son and his fiancé would now be caring for our two dogs. Reluctantly, we went and, while we were able to relax a bit, our dogs were constantly on our minds. Although she did apologize, we would not use her services again.

This was our first time with Pet Sitting of Indpls, and since we had a bad experience with our former sitter we were nervous. Sara, the owner, sent us a reminder note the day before we left, so we'd know we were on her list. The cats seemed relaxed and comfortable when we returned, plus Sara wrote a 'report card' for each day's visit.
We think this one's a keeper!

This provider gave us the best experience of pet sitting we have ever had. She kept our older dogs in her own home while we were gone on vacation. We have never left our Older dogs with anyone that took as great of care of them as she did. We have had family members keep them and they still lost weight and have sever seperation anxiety and this week we came back from vacation they hadn't lost weight and were so happy.
I highly recommed this provider to anyone looking for someone to take care of their babies!
She was fairly priced for this service as well - considering how much it is to BOARD animals and the risk you run of them getting sick from being around other animals. This was actually CHEAPER than baording them and they had GREAT ONE on ONE attention . Not to mention they had a yard to run in all week that they don't get at home. I actually don't think they wanted to leave her when we picked them up!

Every thing went perfect, no problems with any of the animals or services. Sara was great to work with, took notes while talking about the care of the animals. I was nervous leaving my 2 dogs that normally overwhelm other people with a pet sitter, but after meeting Sara and seeing her interact with the animals I was sure this was going to be a good match. Sara is insured and bonded, extremely profession.

I have been using Pet Sitting of Indianapolis since my dogs were puppies, and they absolutely love Sara. She is extremely reliable and flexible, and has always been there when I've needed her. Occasionally, I have contacted her with last minute plans, and she has been able to take care of my dogs. Using Pet Sitting of Indianapolis is a great alternative to boarding my dogs, and saves me a lot of money. I would highly recommend this service.

I was in a bind having moved to the area a few years ago and never having needed a dog walker before, I did not have anyone I could count on. I needed someone to take my dog for a walk on Saturday because we would be out of town all day. I contacted Sara on Thursday and she agreed to meet my dog on Friday afternoon. The meeting went well. Keys were given. We left the initial paperwork and the payment on the counter.
The dog reports that the walk went well. Sara left a nice note about what they did. We were very pleased with the service and will most definitely use her again in the future.

Our dog was diagnosed with diabetes approximately a year ago. It was quite a shock, but we all adjusted and life carried on. The next problem was when we had to be gone for a few days and couldn't take him with us. Our regular kennel doesn't take diabetic dogs and we could find no other option for boarding him other than at a vet's office. Not only is that expensive, but the stress of a strange environment would have been bad for our dog's diabetic condition.
Then we thought of checking Angie's List to see if there were any pet sitters who could care for a diabetic dog. We found Pet Sitting of Indianapolis and have been with this business ever since. Sara came to our home for an initial meeting and our little dog liked her right away. She seemed very comfortable with giving him shots and monitoring his diabetes while we're gone. Her training in the veterinary field is a big plus in our minds.
We've used her services more than once in the past year and have always been pleased.

Sara was wonderful from the start. She first met with us and the dogs to introduce herself and meet them, and in our case, their medical conditions and needs. When the time came for us to leave, she came as promised (three times a day in our case, based on medical needs) and spent time with the dogs while she was here and even brushed them so they wouldn't be "sheddy" when we got home.
She was also willing to pick up mail and put out trash cans, but we didn't have her bother with those things while we were away. When we returned, our dogs were perfectly calm (as opposed to their times at kennels in the past) and as well rested and fed as we had been on vacation.
We cannot say enough about Sara, and are already planning our next vacation and will be using her services again!

Daughter emailed late Sunday evening to see if provider was available for the following five days. Email was answered with a phone call within fifteen minutes and daughter and provider agreed to meet on Monday morning. Provider arrived early and was very thorough is making sure she understood expectations. Quoted very reasonable price and came to an agreement. Did a very thorough job in meeting the needs of the two cats, gave them each a helping of TLC, and promptly emailed details of each visit. Daughter was very pleased with the services provided.

We previewed this service while on vacation. We do not have a cat at the present time, so only house sitting services were provided. We were very pleased with the service provided and will use Pet Sitting of Indianapolis in the future.

Sara answered her phone right away, and I did not have to leave a message and wait for a response back. She came out to my place to meet my pets quite promptly, even though she had just gotten married two days prior to her visit!

She was wonderful,All animals were cared for....clean,fed,dishes washed,mail brought in so no one new I was gone,changed wee wee pads,,,put the trash out in the big container,by emptying 2 trash cans....one in the house and one in the garage.I will use her services again and my dogs ,cats ,and birds loved her...Suggies did too but they sleep during the day:)..she changed there waterbottle and made sure they ate there special food,and had there special lickies...shes a wonderful petsitter,,takes wonderful notes...that means a lot with me having more than a couple of pets....BonitaWalker

I am thrilled to have found Sara to take care of my home and dogs when I am out of town. I was gone for an entire week, and looked theough boarding options and could not find anywhere I felt comfortable leaving my dogs at an affordable price. I found Sara on Angie's List because of her glowing reviews. When I contacted Sara about her services she was extrmely prompt to return my call, she gave me an upfront price and there was no "haggleing" involved. She was available when I needed her and so she came to meet us and our dogs a few weeks later. She was very professional while still being very friendly, our dogs loved her form the first visit! She left some paperwork to fill out in case of emergency, and asked some important questions regarding what was expected of her and how the dogs should be taken care of.
Sara was great at communicating the whole week we were gone, she texted me and sent me pictures of the dogs whenever I asked. She also left a note after every visit, telling us about the dogs and what she did. She went above and beyond in every way! Our dogs had an accident literally every day and she clean all of their messes up. She also watered my plants and took the mail in for us too! She walked them and fed them and gave one medicine when he needed it.
Sara is very professional, trustworthy, and we had a great experience all the way around. You can tell by her notes and demenor she truly loves what she does, and is great at it. I will absolutely be using her whenever I go out of town or need some extra help, I think the dogs miss her already! I would highly reccomend her to anyone, she is great!

Our dog is not able to be boarded because he barks constantly. We wanted to try something new so we looked into pet sitting. We found Pet Sitting of Indianapolis on Angie's List and contacted Sara for a visit. Our dog, Peyton, is 80lbs and full of energy and can be a little intimidating so we were very observant on how a pet sitter would react to him. Sara and Peyton hit it off at the first visit so we booked her on the spot.
Sara leaves a little note every time she visits and we enjoyed reading them. She unfortunately had to clean up a mess from our dog and we could barely tell where it was. We felt very comfortable with her in our house and with our dog. We will be contacting her again for future visits!

My cat LOVES the visits. He is pretty high maintenance will refuse his litter box when things aren't going his way, so I try to humor him. Sarah knows him well and enjoys his antics. It gives me a lot of peace of mind to know he will be well cared for when I am gone. Although a petsitting service is more expensive than hiring a student, I know I have someone who is very reliable and knows about animals, including how to recognize illness and how to give medications.

All of my experiences while using Pet Sitting of Indianapolis have been very good!

Sara is great. I have been using her for over a year. She is very trust worthy and loves my dog. I can tell that she plays with her for the full 30 mins. The price is very reasonable and I appreciate her professionalism.

I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a good dog walker!
