door. He decided to put some copper mesh in the attic around the holes that drop wires into the pantry to keep mice from crawling through too.
Everything was going fine, until just after or while installing the copper mesh I hear a big thud and ask the tech if he's alright. He says he is but he put his foot through the ceiling going into the pantry! Again, I ask if he's alright then he says that he is and that he put a hole in the ceiling and that Orkin would pay for it. He placed some cardboard over the hole for now, which I checked after he left and see that it is completely inadequate, even as a temporary patch. It?s allowing more and more insulation to fall into the pantry/networking closet, so now I need to get someone over to fix this ASAP.
Before I can get a contractor in to repair the ceiling though, I need to CLEAN in the pantry. I brought the Shopvac in and started vacuuming but stopped because the guy was
still here doing his inspection outside the house.
I can only hope that the bait stations will yield some results because even though the technician was nice, he created a new problem for me to solve.
Was contracted to spray inside and outside for common bugs. Inside should have been between the baseboard and floor, unfortunately their and quot;technicianand quot; was lazy and just went about waving her wand sloppily about ruining antiques, walls, furniture... and when I brought it to her attention, she looked at me stupidly and continued to do it. Their company office had an and quot;oh, welland quot; attitude about it and hung up on me. I'll never use or recommend Orkin ever. Horrible service, no professionalism, no ethics.
Today, a woman shows up, Patsy, saying Dale is no longer with the company. The first thing she does is lay on my doorbell, then when I don't get to the door as fast as she apparently thought I should, she bangs on my storm door. I answered the door and she steps inside, gives one foot a swipe on my mat, then the other foot a swipe on my mat, and without putting on booties to
protect my floor, traipses through my house in her dirty shoes. She was unkempt, unorganized, unprofessional in her address with me. She moved about my house never once actually trying to spray between the floor and the baseboard. She sprayed my walls, my furniture... at one point, she stopped to admire one of my antiques and then sprayed down the back of it. She sprayed my side chairs, my floor lamp, my china cupboard and my filing cabinet. The list goes on an on. I stopped her several times to point out that she was doing this and she just looked at me dumbly and kept on. I stopped her yet again to explain to her that the spray was and quot;oversprayingand quot; because she wasn't bending down and placing the nozzle between the floor and the baseboard. She still looked at me like she was braindead. Like she was too stupid to comprehend the problem she was perpetuating. I sent her to garage, thinking she couldn't do much damage out there, but she managed to spray my tool box and all the personal items stored on the lower shelves in my garage.
To say that this was a horrible experience would be putting it mildly. To have someone enter your home, disrespect your property and, as a result, disrespect the homeowner that's paying, is unethical, unprofessional and unconscionable!
When she left, I called Orkin customer service. No easy feat because their automated system sends you to the voicemail of the pest control technician. Really stupid. It took me five phone calls and more than 30 minutes to get through to a very nice gal that said she was going to help me. She then put me through to a service manager (Bill or Phil - couldn't quite make out what he said) and she stayed on the line to document. I told them the story and Bill or Phil said that they would send someone out to spray again, but that Patsy (remember Patsy, she's too stupid to not spray the walls) was the regular technician for the area and that she would be back for the next regular treatment. Music to my ears, as you can imagine. So, I questioned a few things. 1) Why was she not wearing protective booties (got no response to that); 2) What were they going to do about my sprayed walls and furniture (the answer was to respray, but nothing else would be done); 3) Why were they charging me the full $90 service fee when there was 8and quot; of snow on the ground and the biggest part of the service to my property could not even be performed (they'd come back later to do that if the snow goes away)
Then, in a fun twist, Bill or Phil says that he's talked to Patsy. He became rude with me, treated me like I was lying about the whole thing, and started arguing with me about it. I raised my voice, cut him off, told him go ahead and steal his $90 from me, then canceled the service.
Horrible companies and customer service like that I do not want to deal with. They ruined my property, and abused my trust. This is not a reputable company.
