Car Washes
After an expensive part fell off car as it went through the car wash, the employees told me to fill out a claim form and that they would search for the missing part. I was told part was never found that "it went down the drain". It was a huge side view mirror chrome cover plate. Claim was denied by Crew Manager stating car was damaged before it entered wash. I recommend anyone who takes a chance on this car wash business have extensive photos of their car before using their service bc they will deny they damaged your car. Terrible customer service!

Car Washes
Immediately after exiting the wash bay I pulled over to throw some some trash away in the vacuum bay. That particular trash can was full so I walked behind my 2011 Nissan Altima (which I just purchased in November 2013) and immediately noticed a scratch across the trunk. I then inspected my entire vehicle and found over 30 scratches on the hood, roof, trunk and driver's door. They were primarily side to side, but several were all different directions. At this time I approached the supervisor on duty, Ben Miller, who also sold me the service. He stated he did not notice the damage at the time I arrived. We both continued to take pictures of the vehicle and completed the claim form. He advised the corporate office would be in touch.
On Monday, January 27 at approximately 1:30 pm I called the corporate office (800-552-8067) and spoke to Janeese. She confirmed she did receive the claim. She advised me she would make a decision in the next week and notify me by mail of her decision. I advised her a week was not acceptable and stated I wanted an answer by Wednesday, which allowed 48 hours. She advised me that was not possible due to the fact they only respond via mail. I advised she better figure it out and I needed an answer by January 29th. She then placed me on hold and came back and denied the damage to my vehicle was caused by them. The reason she stated is their equipment and quot;only moves from front to backand quot;. I advised I would be contacting local media and an attorney. After calming myself down, I called the 82nd Street location (317-845-8868) and spoke to Jordan, who claimed to be the GM of that location. He advised he would review the claim information and follow up with me. Later that afternoon I received a call from Monte, an area manager, who wanted to schedule an appointment to look at my car. We agreed to meet at 7:30-8 am on Wednesday, January 29 at the carwash.
When I arrived he looked at car, stated he agreed with Janeese that the damages were not caused by Mike's. He stated they were caused by an ice scraper and asked if I used one on my vehicle, my response was and quot;Yeah, on my windows!and quot;. We then proceeded to walk into the wash bay where I could clearly see the long vertical cloths moving in multiple directions, reminding me somewhat of a fish out of water. I asked to view the video from the camera and he refused stating the did not zoom in close enough to detect scratches. What's the point of having them? I left quite upset.
That same day I filed complaints with the BBB as well as with the Indiana Attorney General's office. Mike's response is still that their equipment doesn't operate in a manner consistent with the direction of the scratches. However, anyone can see the majority of the scratches, especially on the hood and rear spoiler, resemble the shape and width of the long vertical cloths. They stated we could go to mediation.
I also talked with Kristen Kane from Fox59 News who interviewed me as well has video footage while driving through the carwash. At first she was confident it was possible that Mike's was responsible based the motion of the long, vertical cloths. Fox 59 has since decided to not proceed with airing my story because Mike's is a client of theirs. I found this out today, 2/19.
Please help me get the word out to the public about this unethical company. The only compensation I have received is two complimentary car washes and the lack of a lot of sleep. I have filed a claim with my insurance company who estimates the damages to be $1,898.58. The company that is responsible needs to stand up, accept responsibility and do the right thing. That company is Mike's Carwash.

Response from Mike's Car Wash
"On 1/26/14 Mr. (member name removed) visited our carwash located at 8252 Kelly Lane Indianapolis, IN. Following Mr. (member name removed)’s carwash he reported severe scratching all over his newly purchased 2011 Nissan Altima. These scratches were on all different areas of his finish and some were down to the metal. The manager on duty, Ben Miller, took Mr. (member name removed)s information and pictures of the damage he was reporting. After Mr. (member name removed) left Ben inspected the carwash equipment and found nothing in the carwash cloth. It was a busy day and the carwash tunnel was full of cars in front of Mr. (member name removed) as well as cars that directly behind him yet we had no other reports of damage. Mr. (member name removed) claims that something was caught in our cloth and caused this damage. We know from experience that the pattern of scratches on his vehicles finish is not consistent with the movement of our equipment. Furthermore to cause scratches down to the metal it would require substantial force from something harder than the vehicles paint. If an object large enough to cause this damage was stuck in our cloth it would have to be removed by hand. Had this been the case, this object would surely have caused severe damage to the vehicles before and after Mr. (member name removed)s. Confidently knowing these damages to Mr. (member name removed)’s vehicle were not caused by the carwash we denied his claim. I’ve included a copy of the claim and the notes reported by the manager Ben Miller. I’ve also included other communications we’ve had with Mr. (member name removed) since this incident. As a member of the BBB Mike’s Carwash suggests that Mr. (member name removed) files a complaint with the BBB and requests the involvement of a 3rd party arbitrator. Mike’s feels that the BBB’s arbitration process is a fair format for resolving this type of dispute."

I like going to Mike's. The staff is always neatly dressed, friendly, and suggests other services I might need. They aren't high pressure though if I choose not to take them up on the additional services. As always, my car came out looking fantastic and it was completely dried when the job was finished. Very happy with the service I receive at Mike's !

Car Washes
I WAS an Unlimited Pass member for a very long time and was very happy until recently. I would visit multiple locations depending on my travels and one day went to the 96th Street/I-69 location. When I got out to dry the car as I always do I noticed a scratch on the hood of the car that went from the front to the hinge all along the left side. Upon looking further there were and quot;swirland quot; scratches all along the left side of the car going along the top edge of the car and back down the left quarter panel. I called their corporate office and spoke to someone who offered to meet me at the location the next day.
When I met the person, he was very adamant that it did not happen in their wash and I told them it wasn't there before. He proceeded to tell me that there was 12 feet in between cars going through the wash which I know is not true because I've been so close to others in the wash I can smell their breathe.
I was told that if I didn't like his decision I could call the VP which I did. He also looked at the car and proceeded to give me a lesson on how car washes work and that he was 100% positive it didn't happen in his car. I asked for the number to their insurance company to which he proceeded to smugly tell me and quot;we are self insured anywayand quot; and that nothing would happen.
He then had the nerve, after completely disrespecting me to ask me not to cancel my unlimited membership that they and quot;appreciated me as a customerand quot;. I told him I would be cancelling and never coming back to Mikes'. In the weeks that followed I tool my car to an auto body shop for an estimate and the first words out of his mouth were and quot; What car wash got ahold of you?and quot;. I told him and he laughed and said, and quot;no surprise there. We get a lot of Mike's customers.and quot;. The repairs to my paint job are running nearly $2,000 and I am now going to be forced to sue Mike's for damages. I even took the car to another Mike's location which everyone there knows me on a first name basis and they were very confident that their car wash did in fact do it based on the patterns of the scratches.
This car is in MINT CONDITION without a scratch on it. I have already spoken to an attorney and will be sending Mike's Corporate Office one last chance to settle this out of court and save 10's of thousands of dollars in attorney fees defending the civil suit and then another several thousand dollars in my attorney fees.
Needless to say I have cancelled my unlimited membership and will never go to Mike's again!

Response from Mike's Car Wash
"On 3/29/13, (removed member name) filed a claim for scratches to his 2009 Mazda 6 that he felt were a result of a visit to one of our Indy locations. When the report was taken by the Sr. GM of our 96th street Indianapolis location, he noted that the scratches to (removed member name) vehicle were inconsistent with the pattern and movement of the cloth which cleans the car. The scratches on (removed member name) car were in different patterns and different areas of the vehicle. Some of the scratches were severe and others were light. Mike’s Carwash is always happy to correct an issue caused by a wash, but this damage was clearly from a different incident. Following the report that (removed member name) filed with us he called and spoke with the President of Mike’s Carwash. After carefully reviewing pictures of the scratches and considering all possibilities, the President of Mike’s agreed that he couldn’t see any possible way our equipment would have caused this damage to (removed member name) paint. In effort to help educate (removed member name) about how we could determine that our washes weren’t the culprit, he offered for (removed member name) to meet with our Sr. Customer Service Manager so we could take (removed member name) into the wash and show him how everything contacts the vehicle. During this meeting at our 96th street location, the Sr. Customer Service Manager took another look at the scratches on (removed member name) Mazda 6 and tried to explain why we confidently feel they did not come from the carwash. When offered a tour of the carwash tunnel, (removed member name) declined and ended the meeting by threatening to sue if Mi8ke’s didn’t agree to pay for repainting his vehicle. We would like to note that this is the second claim that (removed member name) has filed with us for scratches on his Mazda 6. The first claim he filed with us was resolved by Mike’s paying to have (removed member name) vehicle professionally buffed in order to remove the scratches he felt were caused by our carwash. If we had any doubt about the scratches he reported in the second claim, we would have no reservations about agreeing to resolve this issue with (removed member name) as we would with any other customer."

Auto Detailing Service
The antenna near the back of my vehicle on the roof was
broken off. I did not notice the broken antenna right away, but I took the car
to my dealership because the radio was not working. They revealed the broken
antenna to me, and they asked specifically if I had used Mike's to wash my car.
I spent $450.00 to repair the antenna. I have filed an official complaint with
Mike's Car Wash, but they have denied my claim and said it was not legitimate.
I am seeking a refund for the expense of the antenna repair. I contacted Courtney at the Mike's Car Wash
headquarters and he told me he would be talking to my service man at Ray
Skillman. I went back to Ray Skillman's and talked to my service man and he
said that he had never spoken with Courtney.
As for my follow-up to Mike's Car Wash response,
1. Mike’s Car wash is saying that I did not know what
day and approximate time I visited their carwash. This is a flat-out
lie! I presented a receipt of the last visit; the visit immediately
prior to discovering the missing antennae. Furthermore, I can produce
documentation showing several purchases of their coupon books. Would
anyone buy their coupon books and not use them?! 2. As
for Mike’s Car Wash’s claim that there are “other ways this roof-mounted
antennae could have been broken,” I would be interested in knowing about
these “other ways.” Mike’s Carwash surely knows that nothing but
car washes can do this kind of damage. There is no reasonable
alternative explaining this damage.
In conclusion, I reiterate what I said in my original
complaint: Skillman KIA, who discovered the missing
antennae: a) the service rep asked if I had been to a car
wash lately. I readily admitted that I had, indeed, had my van
washed at a car wash. His immediate response was, “this happens all
the time.” b) When he asked what car wash I, again,
readily identified Mike’s Car Wash, to which he responded . . . c)
“We’ve seen a lot of these.”
Response from Mike's Car Wash
"At Mike’s we take our customer’s concerns very seriously. Whenever a customer reports damage to their vehicle we have a thorough claim process that allows us to determine what the damage is and how it happened. Since 1948 Mike’s has put the customer first. Our 65 years of experience as a family owned carwash has taught us how to safely provide our customers with a clean, dry, and shiny vehicle. He contacted us about damage to his Kia a couple of weeks after he claims the damage occurred. He did not know what day and approximate time he visited our carwash. A big part of our claim investigation processes it to review the vehicle before it enters the carwash and after it comes out using our video monitoring system. Unfortunately we were unable to do this with his Kia because we did not have information on his visit. He came to us after he had the vehicle repaired and we were unable to see the damaged antenna first hand. He also indicates that Ray Skillman told him that the damage could have happened during a carwash, but we know that is not a damage that is likely to occur with these Kias. We also know that there are a lot of other ways this roof mounted antenna could have been broken. With 42 locations in 3 different states, Mike’s Carwash washes millions of cars every year. We use state of the art equipment and spare no expense to keep our customers vehicles safe. We truly value our customers and never hesitate to go out of our way to ensure they are happy with us. In this particular case we are unable to pay for the damage, without adequate information to identify fault."

The car is cleaned pretty well most of the time, if not you can take it back. The problem that Mike's Carwash's had was the dryer doesn't dry and the water collects in the mirrors, when you dry them off, the wind blows the water back on to the car and by the time you get home it's dirty again. They don't hand dry the car at all. Mike cleans the undercoat of your car really well. If you're not satisfied the first time you can always bring it back but you got to have towels in your car and when you get out you got to make sure your car is dried dry.

Multiple times, and at multiple locations, Mike's Express service has gone above and beyond.
Most recently, when paying for the car wash, I told the worker I'd had a problem before where the soap had not rinsed off completely. He said no problem, just come right back through if I got done and the car still needed further rinse. I then went through the car wash, and the same worker was waiting for me as I came out at the end! He looked the car over and, although the soap had rinsed off, he noticed some road paint splattered on the passenger side. He directed me to go back around and (no extra charge) he sprayed some cleaner on the road paint and sent me back through.

I received a promotion card for unlimited car washes for 39.99. It was for one month and then a month added for free. This averaged about 5 dollars a week for 2 months. That is a great deal. they will continue the service for 39.99 a month after that for as long as I want. It was easy to sign up and now I can just buzz through, they scan the tag in my window and I am all set. Their service is excellent and they do such a good job on the car. I am excited to get such a good deal for a quality car wash. Now when it rains right after I got my car washed, I don't have to worry, I can just buzz back through.

We buy coupon books from there and use them all the time. It is just two blocks away from us and so we continue to use them because of the location. They have kind of cut down on their time that they spend like spraying your car before you go for car wash. It depends on how busy they are for all these. They spend more time if they are not busy. Their service is always good and very prompt.

I had a good experience. They are quick and efficient. They do a good job with the car wash. There are fresh towels, trash bags and you can get them easily. They are expensive and have different levels of car ash. There is a level for tires, under the car wash, etc. The only drawback is their prices and if they were affordable I would take my car more often. I still like their services and will use the same in future.

Mike's washes are "just ok." Their attendants are always friendly enough; I'm not sure I could expect someone spending their days outdoors bagging rear wipers to be too abundantly cheerful. My SUV always comes out looking relatively free of mud and dirt, but ends up with a lot of water spots that are not removed by their automated drying process. Sure, I could easily keep a towel in the back to finish drying it myself, but isn't that the point of going to Mikes?

Pulled into the tracks of Mike's Car Wash, put my car in neutral as instructed by the attendant, there was a white Ford pickup in front of me, the pickup jumped the car wash tracks and my car (still in the tracks) was pulled into the back of the pickup. Mike's Car Wash attendant said the driver of the vehicle turned his wheel and braked, causing the truck to jump the tracks. The insurance agent of the truck (owned by a local lawn care company) denies responsibility saying the car wash malfunctioned. Mike's Car Wash denies responsibility even though my car was in their tracks. No damage to the Ford F350 but $1500 damage my car. Be careful....a very expensive car wash!

Additionally, the last two times I visited Mike's Carwash, they were running a promo offer of one free car if you would take your sales receipts on go online and offer them a sincere evaluation of your experience. I did this each time for the past two visits. each time their website would not accept my evaluation submission. I followed this up with a "contact us" message on their website. Karrie called me regarding the difficulty I have had trying to provide my online evaluation. She was kind enough to call me back and offer one works wash in exchange for my inconvenience, which was nice. But what I don't quite understand is why should the inconvenience I suffered provide just one free wash. I had two sales #'s and had tried to enter two evaluations. Noting that the sales receipt limit the offer to one per valid email address should not preclude me from two free washes, since I have multiple email addresses. Perhaps Mike's Car Wash should more thoroughly think through their promotional offers that their employees so eagerly hand out. Not to mention to put more mental muscle behind the technical aspect of their promotional offer, which obviously wasn't working very well for most anyone who tried to follow through on their offer. To me, their offer is beginning to appear less than genuine and more or less insincere. Please think through your next promotional offer just a little more completely.
