Sheffield Services services remediated mold in our attic in May 2014.  They missed some spots and had to come back in May 2015 to correct their work.  It took over a month to convince them to honor their guarantee. When they did the job the second time, they spilled bleach all over our brand new carpet, completely ruining several sections.  We asked them  repeatedly to replace the carpet or compensate us for the replacement, however they continue to ignore our calls and emails.

Warning!! To anyone who is considering using this company for mold remediation, DO NOT.  We had toxic mold  spores in our basement and hired this company with the promise that they would follow EPA recommended guidelines using a series of steps to remediate the remaining mold. We had cleaned all of the heavy mold and disposed of everything the year before but it was still growing so we hired this company to come in and do a thorough scrub down with chemicals and put a sealer on everything to prevent future mold growth.  When we came home we found that they did not hepa vac, spray antimicrobial cleaners, wipe down surfaces and instead of putting a sealer on our basement they painted the entire thing with latex paint. They even painted dust,bugs and mouse traps to the floor instead of vacuuming and picking them up.  They needed three days to complete the work but were done in 7 hours and they made a terrible mess spraying paint on the fireplace, washer and dryer.  They botched the whole job.  The only way we knew was because we had done the first two remediation's ourselves and knew what to look for and my husband is a contractor so he knew what they did and did not use.  This company runs a major scam and is willing to sacrifice peoples safety for a quick dollar and fast turn around.  We did call them out on what they did and made them come back out and put the proper sealer on in an attempt to save the job and they did comply, but if we had been oblivious to the fact they would have left us with a moldy, latex painted basement, which happens to be a breeding ground for mold.  They know the proper steps and what chemicals to use and they can talk the talk, but they hire out subcontractors to do the work and those guys did a poor job.  Instead of coming to see what the contractors did wrong the owner, Scott Sheffield, refused to come out and look at our basement and made excuses for them which told me he knew what they were doing.  Their job is to make homes safe and it is a very serious job.  Do not use this company they cannot be trusted!  The only thing they did right was the ozone treatment.
