Electric Boiler or Radiator Heating System - Repair

They came out to fix my heater. They were prompt and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

Tenants waited from June 11-August 5 to have A/C units replaced after being stolen. It took over a week for them to do the installation. The breaker switches weren’t flipped back on and it still isn’t working properly. Its 8:20 pm and 79 degrees in my apartment, but 75 in the hallway of our apartment building. I have a window unit running that only keeps my living room cool. I called to let them know even though I am just a tenant and not management and the lady rudely told me she cannot take note of my complaint and that I would have to go through property management.

They were never able to locate the sewage gas leak but charged $75/hr to inspect. I understand i should pay for services but I expect a result. They did install an air conditioner successfully for me though. While attempting to conduct routine maintenance on the air conditioner, they routinely missed appointments. When I would call to inquire why the appointment was missed, the scheduler would simply say she made an error. An error happens once, multiple times becomes a problem. I have no clue how a company stays in business when they do not honor your personal time.

Mr. McNeely and team were very responsive. They answered my calls and were at my house by 7:00a the next morning to run testing. They tested for leaks, offered thoughts on remedies, and were willing to come out as soon as necessary to run a new line.

Great - repaired only what needed to be repaired. System worked like brand new after repair, in spite of it being more than 40 years old.

Service technician seemed to know what he was doing and gave me instructions for shutting off the water at the street if I need to do so in the future. They scheduled me first in the morning as I live near the office and was able to pay less for travel time. I have used them before and will use them again.

I have used McNeely Inc. for several years now. We used them several years ago to upgrade all the plumbing to code and PVC when we had the city sewer hooked up. They were punctual, clean and got the work done on time. Since then, we have used them for several smaller jobs- leaky faucets, drains, busted filter line and installing a laundry tub.
This job involved fixing a very leaky garbage disposal and fixing a hot water sink tap that was slow. The plumber was punctual, came the day I called and was there well within the listed time. He kept my sinks clean, was able to fix the garbage disposal and offered his advice regarding the fixing of our (old) hot water tap that was slow. Upon my request, he gave us an estimate for repiping all our water lines (1950's home, a mix of PVC, copper and cast iron- which would permanently fix the slow water pipe and prevent other cast iron pipes from filling with rust setiment), fixing our slow well pump (new switch) and upgrading our hot water heaters so it would provide enough water for our large family.

It ended up being our homeowner's association that paid for it. They were prompt upon arrival. We actually caught them in the neighborhood and they were able to stop the exploded pipe in the ceiling. We would probably use them again.

  1. Tony was the first person to really do more than check the levels. He pointed out our air flter was too and quot;goodand quot; and was reducing air flow by 30% and actually cleaned the coil and added Freon. He explained everything and even took the time to be sure we understood everything that would help. It is much cooler and working more efficiently.
He was prompt and thorough ...they will get our business from now on.

After the new parts were fitted, the heater would ignite but the flame would extinguish after a few seconds. After consulting with Rheem technical service by phone, the plumber indicated that the problem was likely to be insufficient air supply due to wet insulation material and was not repairable. He quoted a cost of replacing the heater, with installation, of approximately $1800. The bill for his attempted repair was $464.00, of which $195.00 was for labor and the remainder for parts and tax.
I was reluctant to accept that the heater needed to be replaced because it was barely seven years old. The explanation of oxygen starvation seemed implausible because the flame repeatedly extinguished within a few seconds of lighting and it did not change in intensity or color before the gas supply cut off. After a little research on the internet and some tests with my multimeter, I concluded it was likely that the flame detector was defective and the gas was cutting off because the valve did not sense that it had been lit. I obtained the required part at a cost of approximately $50 and installed it myself in about 20 minutes. When I turned it back on, the heater stayed lit and has continued to function normally since then.
The plumber from McNeely Owned arrived punctually at the appointed time. He had a very pleasant manner and seemed to be doing his best. However, he left me with a non-functioning heater which he clearly lacked the expertise to fix, and he appeared to be badly advised by Rheem. I am a scientist by training and am not intimidated by technical matters. If I had not had sufficient confidence to evaluate the problem for myself, I would probably replaced the heater at a total cost (including the attempted repair) of approximately $2260.

The company was great to deal with as we unexpectedly had to replace our AC unit. They gave us multiple options on our install and how much each would cost. The company was very honest with us and was in constant communication. I will use them in the future for any repairs or other needs.

They were great. They tune in and visit for review in a very friendly manner and the price is very fair. They were very professional, did not take it on so they could take the work done. They were able to replace the part to hold on him which is very helpful. They were punctual, had the part handed to him, and were able to replace it. They were polite.

DON'T CALL MCKNEELY!!!

McNeely Owned came out to my 92 year old mother's home
to service her Air Conditioner Unit and basically charged her nearly 3hrs
labor ($180) for approximately 45min Worth of work. This was in the
begining or summer 2013 and what makes it so bad is they had done the exact
same work in July/August 2012, which in my opinion
suggests that they are not fixing the problem, just bandaging it in order
to come back and repair again.

Air conditioners are only used a good 3 to 4 months out
of the year and for it to be fixed in the middle of summer and then need
the same repair in the beginning of the next summer says allot about the
quality of work at McNeely.

The service guy Kirk is a really nice Iraq war Veteran
that is very pleasant and professional, but the so called owner Kim is
really difficult to deal with. Very Aggressive and Confrontational with a
Nasty Attitude. I tried to be reasonable and offered to pay 2hrs of labor
and she said and quot;NO! The Bill Stands!!!and quot;, and she immediately threatened
to place a Mechanic's lean on the property... I mean Immediately! She
then went on to inform me that I had to pay for kirk the service guy's
drive time from when he leaves his previous call untill he gets to my
house, while he works on the unit, while he sits in his truck to cool off,
while he calls the dispatcher for his next job etc... Basically they give
you a grossly inflated bill and then when you challenge it that act like you
are and quot;stealingand quot; from them... Ultimately I had to pay 3hrs. of labor
for 45min of work.

Not Good People To Do Business With At ALL!!!!

I have heard from my neighbors that they actually use to do
business as and quot;ARSand quot; (Air Conditioning Ripoff Service) but then
they changed the name for obvious reasons, never the less ARS as well as
McNeely are banned from working on this home and we will never call them
again!!!

After they showed me, I believe they have fixed the problem, although it will take another winter like this one to really test it. They were very responsive to my calls and very professional. Other than this problem, the furnace has been very reliable.
Other than the first trip, they provided the labor and trips as part of the warranty. I was vey pleased with that.

Kirk came and went over every part of the furnace and air conditioner to diagnose the problem. Unfortunately, all was working well when he arrived. He was very patient and gave some suggestions if this occurred in the future. He was friendly, professional and tidy. I don't have a total for the bill as it has not come yet, but the fact that I called early this am and received my service call by 1030am was well worth my piece of mind.

As I have for the past twenty plus years, upon finding our AC not doing what it should, we called McNeely Owned. I first turned to them subsequent to a horrific experience with another HVAC provider (long since out of business), as there aren't too many companies that understand steam heating systems, and over the years, they repeatedly demonstrated their expertise in all realms of heating, cooling, and plumbing.
A chat with Kim prompted an assessment by Patrick several days later, and it was a rather quick determination that the best course would be updating the system to the newer coolant, replacing the old compressor, coil, and purging the line set. Eric, the technician,
showed up punctually, got an overview, and rolled up his sleeves. We so appreciate when a service provider is committed to not only doing things by the numbers, but also cleanly. Metal work can be done 'good enough', or it can be done as it was by Eric, accomplishing what was needed and leaving it looking no worse for wear.
Having been bombarded with FABULOUS offers on replacement AC systems the past few years like I can't recall, its nice to be able to confidently return to a trusted service provider.

Our tenant called to say water from the upstairs bathroom was leaking through the kitchen light fixture and the heat was not working. It was a busy day for McNeely as the weather had turned really cold that weekend. They contacted the tenant and even though they already had a full schedule, they managed to check the heat and plumbing that day. Fortunately, all the mechanics were operating properly. Shane, the plumber, reported back exactly what was happening and tried to educate the tenants on not

letting water run from the shower to the floor without mopping it up! Kirk, the HVAC guy, checked out the heat pump and explained how it works to the tenant. Tami, in the office, saw an error in the invoice, called to let me know not to pay that one, and sent out a corrected one right away.
We've used McNeely on a number of occasions and they always deliver quality, professional service.

What was great was that McNeely came out and did a little investigating
before pulling out the sonar equipment and found that we just had two
silently running toilets that was causing the water bill increase. Wish
the first plumber had done a more thorough check, but very appreciative
that McNeely took the time to do that. Our expected $4000+ bill vanished
and we were more than happy to pay $262 for their time.
I can't comment on their punctuality or professionalism as my wife was the one at home with them, but she didn't have any complaints.
