Danny McDougalle, the owner, assisted with the project. He shared details of what was causing the problems and the progress. All workers were professional and courteous. The job was completed in 2.5 days with no disruption to the household. I received a receipt and guarantee for the work. He plans to return and till the ground and place seed down so the grass will return. I would recommend this company to anyone.

The sewer clear out/vent at our house broke and developed a small sink hole. McDougalle came out and assessed the situation and repaired the pipe. They recommended that we have the sewer line flushed and cleared. When the provider (R&S Sewer Cleaning) that did it ran into a blockage, McDougalle came back out, found the blockage and replaced the sewer line. The workers arrived in a timely manner considering all the other jobs they were working on that week. They went straight to work and completed the job efficiently. They had to dig up part of the yard, but replaced the soil and will be back to check on it and sow grass seed. 
Danny McDougalle communicated with us the issues and followed through on his promise to resolve the situation. The 2 days we were not able to use water/toilets were very long, but McDougalle solved the problem and made the repairs. It was a pleasure to deal with McDougalle and we were happy to support a small, family-owned business. Would definitely call them again.

They did all of the digging and boring. They did a really good job. They will be coming back to work on the yard after the yard has some time to settle down. My husband really liked them. They did a quick job and they were really professional. They explained the procedure while they were doing it. They were careful to not make any lines. I would use them again.

He arrived when he said he would. Minimal damage to our yard. Took care to move plants which were in the way. This is the second time we have used McDougalle. We have always been happy with him.

Overall the install went well, and  I have not had any problems. The ground has settled and I am waiting on more topsoil to be delivered in May to fill the hole in my yard.

The owner, Mr. MacDougalle came to our home three times to meet with us.  Each visit, spending time as needed looking, inspecting, talking, allaying our concerns.  We decided to go with him...and he was fabulous.  He is reliable, quick, clean, efficient and when he says he'll take care of it - he does. 
He encouraged us to call other excavators for estimates.  He came out much lower than everyone else...and it ended up costing less than the lower end of the estimate because of the existence of a clean out under our driveway that had been paved over by prior owner!  Can say enough about how helpful and efficient Mr. MacDougalle was!   We'd use him again and recommend his services to anyone!

Danny gave us a quote that was about $3000 less than another quote we received.  He told us exactly what he was going to do, when and how long it would take.  He was right on target on all counts.  He and his men were courteous, polite and thorough.  They did as little damage to our property as was possible, considering the distance they had to go under the road and lawn.  They patched the hole they made in the road to tie us into the water co. line, cleaned up all their equipment and were finished in good time.  Very nice people to work with.

They said they would do the job with less damage to our landscaping and they did as they said they would.  They did an excellent job and were the only ones who had a bore to excavate under the landscaping.  I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Everything went fine. They did what they said they would do.

Danny McDougalle and his crew showed up at 8:45 am and were completely done by 3 pm. They did an excellent job excavating, removed excess soil and graded the area so it looked nice and flat. Danny said when the ground settles he would come back and add pulverized top soil to fill in any low areas. The main shut valve installed in the basement was a very clean and professional job. These guys did the little extras that make them an excellent choice and I would recommend them to anyone that wants this kind of care and quality work.

Things went very well. I would use them again in the future. I called them more recently and they weren't able to do specifically what I was needing, but they referred someone to me who could do the work, which I thought was very nice.

It went great. Danny was very professional, respectful and seemed concerned for my best interest. He has even offered to return this spring to reseed the front yard as it had to be torn up to add the water meter pit.

Mr. MacDougalle was recommended to us by another company who initially came out to inspect our sewer line. Our problem required some excavating, therefore, we needed a company like MacDougalle Water and Sewer. We were unable to use any toilets etc. due to our sewer line problem. Mr. MacDougalle came out within two hours of our call to assess our situation. He and his associate then came out the following two days and had to dig (by hand) a hole about 5 feet deep. They did a fantastic job--worked very hard. They had to remove and replant a few plants and bushes. When they were done, everything was perfect. All plants were replanted and you would never have known we had a big hole in our flower bed a few hours earlier. And Mr. MacDougalle and his associate were extremely polite, nice, and professional. I would certainly use them agaiin, if needed, and recommend them highly.

McDougalle came in with the best estimate - which was what we were charged. Instead of digging a trench, they were able to do all the work, running a new pipe from the street main into the house under a porch, from a single hole. To prevent blocking up, or making it difficult to drive on the side street we live on, the trailer carrying the backhoe was parked on a main street about a block away. The workers were very accommodating to my four year old son's interest. Even let him sit on the equipment. Total work time was about six hours. They cleaned up all the dirt on the sidewalk and driveway.

It was excellent. The people that came were professional. Mr. McDougalle was actually at my home to help. The quality and price were outstanding. He came back to add more dirt after everything settled and even added grass seed.

Mr. McD was extremely helpful and very quick to respond and get the work completed. He even took pictures of the problem pipe for us since we were not able to be there. He is very knowledgeable and he was even sensitive enough to call me and let me know he was going to have to dig up the flower garden because the bad pipe was located right in the middle of it. He also had the best price by about $400.00!!! I highly recommend Mr. McD.!

In 1999, our main sewer drain clogged. What a nightmare! We made dozens of calls and were told by numerous contractors that we needed a new sewer line to the tune of $4000+. Some said that if we had a "clean out" they could insert their rotary tool in it and clear the clog. Some of them searched for the critical "clean out", but none could find it. We finally had the Gurney Bush Co. thread a rotary sewer cleaning tool hundreds of feet through a roof vent, which cleared the roots. We had the same problem in 2005 with regrown roots and Gurney Bush again cleared them by going through the roof vent. Not wanting to be in a desperate situation again, and not wanting to spend $3000-4000 or more for a new sewer line and a huge mess (like dozens of our neighbors have), I called McDougall. He found the clean-out as described above. This is a far preferable solution to us then spending the $4000 we were told we would need to spend 7 years ago for a new line.
