We've used Maid Brigade for about the past year and have them come out every couple weeks.  We have used other cleaning services in the past and I have found Maid Brigade to be the best combination of reliability, flexibility, and also very reasonably priced.  We alternate whole house cleaning with just them cleaning certain rooms of the house so that it can work within a monthly budget we are comfortable with.  Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a house cleaning service.

The first cleaning was a deep clean, Overall I was happy with the cleaning. The kitchen was cleaned very well. The only complaint I had was the master bathroom could have been cleaned a little better, especially the shower and baseboards. I was impressed with the price once you are put on a bi-weekly schedule and the responsiveness. They were constantly in contact with me to make sure we agreed on what would be cleaned and when the cleaning would happen. Before leaving a bill or charging me they called to make sure I was happy with my cleaning.

I hired them to come on a bi-weekly basis. The second cleaning was terrible. The kitchen floors still had crumbs everywhere around the sink and stove. The carpet in the kitchen was not vacuumed. Non of the baseboards were touched, even though I had told them specifically last time that I wanted them done and they weren't. The upstairs master bathroom was not cleaned on the outside at all. The bathtub was not touched (there was still dust in the bottom). around the toilet was not cleaned, trash was left on the floor by the garbage can. Couches were not vacuumed. Basically it looked like they just wiped down the counters, and vacuumed the big open areas. I had to re-clean everything that night. I decided to cancel the bi-weekly service.

Needless to say I will not be calling them to do anymore cleaning.

I have read the response that Maid Brigade has provided.  And I would like to correct a few things.
  1.  I never did a "walk through"  I had to run to the bank for about 10mins. they were done, in the car  and were ready
       to go then I returned.
   2.  There was only one ceiling fan in question.  I had "no problem" with them not cleaning that "one"  There are
        5 other ceiling fans that I can reach with a kitchen step-ladder, 2-steps. Those are the ones that they said were to high  
         for them to clean.
   3.  I had to re clean all three bathrooms before they could be used.  The toilet in master bathroom had NOT been touched.
   4.  I had to vacuum again before the carpet cleaner could clean carpets.
   5.  I had to re clean entire house, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. 

I really don't want to sound mean, but I've used cleaning companies in the past and never had things left like they
were not even touched..

"Maid Brigade of Indianapolis has been servicing Indianapolis for over 10 years. We are on pace to clean over 4500 homes in 2013. We perform many different types of cleanings. We do one time cleans, move in/move out cleans and service our regular customers. We did service perform a move out/move in clean on the clients home on 9/23/2013. We cleaned the home and performed all tasks that the client requested. The client did a walk through the home with our supervisor when the cleaning was completed. The only complaint the client mentioned to our cleaning team was a ceiling fan (in a room with a high ceiling 25-20 feet) she wanted cleaned by hand like the others had been. Our cleaners explained that they could not reach it with our step stool and had cleaned it with a extended duster. The client ask the our cleaners to use her latter to clean the ceiling fan. Maid Brigade's supervisor stated it was against our companies policy (insurance does not permit us to do this) to get on ladders. The client was not happy and protested a little but ultimately understood that we were going to unable to clean it. Our client paid the ladies and they went on to complete their day. Maid Brigade's office called the customer for an additional follow up and to see if the customer wanted to book regular cleanings with our company. During the phone conversation the client began by mentioning her unhappiness the high ceiling and was again told that our companies policies do not allow employees to get on ladders taller than a step stool. At this time, the client also began to complain to list other complaints and wanted a discount. The client was told that Maid Brigade's policy was to come and verify and re-clean the areas that the client complained about. After all she just did a walk through with our cleaning team the day before and said everything was OK (except the high ceiling fan was not hand washed. This complaint was due the height of the ceiling fan and the fact we could not perform this tasks.) The client was not interested in having us come back to touch up the areas and only wanted a discount."

I had a terrible experience with Maid Brigade from beginning to end. From scheduling, to work performed, to customer service, to addressing issues with the manager/owner, it was a nightmare. I wound up spending FAR more time and money than should ever have been necessary with having professionals do my move in clean. My husband and I were both lied to and insulted repeatedly, and I am still upset and frustrated by the issues created from the situation. I considered taking them to court, but decided to take the high road and solve the issues as peacefully as possible. This experience is actually what prompted me to join Angie’s List. From now on, I will be more informed about those that I invite into my home and spend large amounts of money with. I write this with
the full understanding that the company response will likely be lengthy and filled with excuses and fabrications, likely insulting me even more, airing dirty laundry, explaining why the entire fiasco is my fault, and generally showing their behinds once more. Unfortunately, my experience was so bad that I feel it necessary to share in hopes that I may be able to spare someone else the time,
money, and emotional exhaustion.

Maid Brigade has been very flexible with their scheduling, and the women who come out to our home to clean are friendly and do a thorough job.  I was impressed when they did the move-out clean that they gathered the last few remaining items we had left scattered about the house. We have been using them for a few months now and are very satisfied with our clean home.

Aside from the trash & debris left in all the corners in the rooms with wood flooring (MAJORITY OF THE HOUSE) along with the outside of the oven still dirty (inside had been cleaned) we were most displeased with the pricing outcome.  They did not tell us that they charge by the hour PER PERSON they bring in.  So the originally quoted 140 -170 for 4-6 hours of cleaning time turned into 3.5 hours of two cleaner's time which amounted to $259, $90 over the original quote.  When trying to ask Lincoln why the price difference, all he stated is that it took two people 3.5 hours, which to them must mean that they were there for 7 hours!  In 3.5 hours of time with two 'professional' cleaners I would have expected the house to be spotless!!   Bottom line is that they charged much more than they quoted & we will never use nor recommend them to anyone! PERIOD!

Maid Brigade visited biweekly on a regular basis for around one year.  I requested the same gals each visit so they could learn the procedure & layout.  This did not happen & one girl (M.B. employee for some time)quit.  Girls complained about owner & personal lives & strife between employees.  The cleaning job was average & much lint was left on floor when they were finished.  Carpet was wet where they set bucket down while working.  I am  particular & do not handle confrontations very well so it took me a long time to hire a new agency.  The girls were nice but very unprofessional.

I had used them for approximately a year while I was in the apartment for monthly cleaning. So, when I was moving, I naturally hired them to clean it up after I moved my items out. By mistake, my moving company left items in a coat closet that included several jackets and coats, a vacuum, and a Spode Christmas Tree. I had left a note for the cleaning crew letting them know to help themselves to whatever was left in the refrigerator, and whatever they didn't want to throw away. They ended up throwing out everything that was left in the coat closet as well. Lincoln, with Maid Brigade, said they threw away 5 or 6 bags worth of trash when they were finished, but the crew could not remember if there were any coats. There could not have been 5 or 6 bags of trash to be thrown away because the only trash would have come from the refrigerator. There were not enough items in the refrigerator that would have made up one bag of trash, let alone 5 or 6. I've contacted them three times regarding the issue. They are insinuating that I am lying about the items from the coat closet. They are not willing to reimburse me for the items they threw out. Lincoln said that in the note I stated to throw away anything left in the apartment, but I only referenced the refrigerator because I didn't expect there to be anything else left in the apartment. The actual cleaning of the apartment was absolutely excellent, and I called to tell them that before I realized what had happened. They do a good job at what they do, but were not trustworthy in this instance.

"The member did hire us for a move out clean for her apartment to be performed on 7/29/2011. Two days before the the cleaning(7/27/11), the member called to confirm her move out clean. She also let our office know the movers had already emptied the apartment and we could come any time on 7/29/11. The member also stated that there were a few items left that she did not know what to do with and if the cleaners did not want them to pitch them. On the day of the cleaning we arrived and cleaned the apartment. The cleaners did find some stuff that had been left and threw the items in the dumpster outside like was requested by the customer. The following Monday the member called the office to say that we did a great job cleaning the apartment and wanted to verify if a closet was empty when the team got there for the cleaning. The member told me she thought the movers lost or stolen the items because she could not find them. I told her that I would have to talk the my team members the next day because they had already left for the day. The next morning, I talked to my team members and they let me know that the closet in question still had items left in it and they discarded the stuff as requested by the customer in the dumpster. They told me they took out 5 or 6 total bags of trash to dumpster. They could not remember exactly what items were disposed of. The member called me back like I had asked her to and I told her what information I found out from my team. The member told me that the movers finally admitted to her that they missed the closet during the move and she did not catch the mistake either. I told the member that I was truely sorry for the situation but we were just following her instructions for the cleaning tasks she hired us for. We were hired to perform a move out clean by the member of her apartment. We had cleaned the apartment 16 times before this cleaning and had always followed the intructions correctly. On the 7/29/11 during the move out clean we followed instructions as well. Unfortuneately, a closet was not emptied by the moving company and the member did not catch the mistake either and we threw out the items like she requested. We really feel bad about the items that were thrown out but we were just following the instruction given to us by the member. Thanks, Lincoln Pagel Maid Brigade"

I talked to the owner about my dissatisfaction with their work, but he just kind of blew me off. I had asked them to clean a few specific things, but they did not clean them. They said that they would send someone back to clean these things, but at an extra charge.

We were able to schedule an 8:30 am appointment, and the 2 cleaners showed up promptly and went right to work. They did most of what the website described would be done on a first time cleaning, and most of the rooms were in excellent condition when they finished. The bathrooms were absolutely sparkling, and basically the house was in tip top shape, almost like new. Only things they missed were vacuuming the curtains, didn't clean the blinds (may have run over them with a duster, but they needed to be wet cleaned), and some of the baseboards didn't get cleaned, and our kitchen cabinets were not washed down with Murphy's oil as described over the phone. However, our house was pretty dirty, so in the amount of time they spent, I think they had their hands full and did a great job getting all of the really important stuff. If they would have stayed longer, it would have been over my budget, so I was very pleased with the work.

I have had to call Maid Brigade too many times about not cleaning my house properly. They are not very thorough in their cleaning! They have missed entire rooms before and they are not prompt with getting back to you after a complaint. I feel like at this point I am just throwing money away by paying them and being so dissatisfied. It's not even about getting a discount (because, frankly, I feel the discounts they give are menial for the inconvenience they cause)....we just want them to do their job properly. They do not charge a lot, but I guess you get what you pay for. I am almost at the point where I may try to clean my own house, even though I don't have the time. I wish I had looked on Angie's List before and seen how many negative reports there already are.

I HIRED MAID BRIGADE TO CLEAN MY HOUSE SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THE PRICE WAS RIGHT IN THERE WITH ALL THE OTHER COMPANIES. THEIR DUSTING WAS AWFUL! THEY NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN AND TAKE A FEW MORE MINUTES AND MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING GETS CLEAN AND THE CUSTOMER IS SATISFIED. I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR MY LAST CLEANING. LINCOLN GAVE ME A 10% DISCOUNT OFF THAT CLEANING AND SAID IF I DIDN'T PAY THAT HE WOULD TAKE ME TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR IT. I DO NOT NEED THE HASSLE OF THAT. THE LAST CLEANING CAME AFTER WE WERE GONE ON VACATION, SO WE WERE HOME LESS THAN 2 DAYS FROM THE LAST CLEANING THAT THEY DID AND IT LOOKED TERRIBLE. THEY DID NOTHING FOR THAT MONEY. THEY ARE USUALLY AT THE HOUSE FOR LESS THAN 45 MINUTES WHICH WOULD BE FINE IF THEY GOT THE JOB DONE THOROUGHLY! PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION.

WE CLEAN OVER 50 HHOMES A WEEK (2600 HOMES A YEAR) AND THIS IS THE FIRST COMPLAINT SENT TO ANGIE’S LIST IN A YEAR. THAT EQUATED TO 99.9997%% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. THAT IS AN IMPRESSIVE NUMBER OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS. WE WERE THE 3RD CLEANING COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN LET GO BY THE MEMBER. MAID BRIGADE'S PRICE AND RELIABILITY IS EXCELLENT, BUT THEIR CLEANING SKILLS ARE WEAK. I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE EVER DUSTED MY BOOKSHELVES, OR DUSTED UNDER ANY OF THE FURNITURE. THEY DON'T SEEM TO TEND TO THE WOOD FLOORS WITH MUCH CARE, AND THEY HAVE TROUBLE PUTTING THINGS BACK WHERE THEY FOUND THEM. WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR NEW CLEANERS AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MAID BRIGADE IN FUTURE.
