We could not recommend this rescue group more highly. We have adopted the wonderful Boxer Emmett and our beloved little mixed breed Joon from this organization. We have also fostered an adorable dog that is now in a loving and wonderful home.
Christina Francis has a heart as big as the world and brings professionalism and expertise to the task of finding homes for rescued animals.
There are really no words for the incredible joy that our two beloved rescues have brought into our lives and we continue to stay in touch with Christine. We would never consider using any other rescue group. She is a wonderful example of someone who has dedicated her live to saving the lives of these precious animals that need forever homes. She is absolutely hands down the best!

We contacted Christina through petfinders.com when we found a dog on that website that interested us. She responded immediately with an application and followed up quickly on all correspondence. When she discovered we already owned a border collie/lab mix, she suggested meeting Grant, a dog of the same mix, in addition to the lab we were interested in. My daughter and I went to Grant's foster home and fell in love with him. He was sweet and loving. We had a little trouble introducing our dog to Grant, but Christina consulted a dog behavioral expert and arranged several scenarios for the dogs to meet. The second meeting went much better. She could see we were attached to Grant and offered to let us foster him for several weeks before we committed. From the time Grant came into our home, he was ours and the dogs have become the best of friends. She spent much time with us to make sure we had the right fit. Christina is so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. She is devoted and passionate about her mission. She is an angel to these lost souls and the people she brings them to.

We recently adopted Lucy (now Stella) from Luv a Dog. We had been looking for a and quot;purebredand quot; Airedale Terrier (due to allergies and needing a low/no-shedding dog). We had actually been meeting with breeders and were planning on getting a puppy in the spring; however, we happened to stumble across Stella's listing on petfinder, and new it sounded too good to be true. My husband called Christina, and she got back to us right away with more information and sent us an application to fill out. We had to list a reference, and I know that she called her to check on us. Christina brought Lucy over to our house on a Saturday morning to see how she and our other dog, a yorkie, got along together and my husband and I also got a long with Lucy. During the home visit, she talked to us a lot about our typical care for other dog, work schedules, and many other topics to determine if she felt Lucy was a good fit for our family (and vice versa). It is obvious that Christina does this for no other reason than her love of dogs and desire to give them a great, forever home. Christina was very thorough, which I appreciate as I understand she does not want to see the dog end up back with her again. Christina also gave us the food and water bowls, some food, collar, and a leash from the previous owner. Additionally, once she learned that we had an invisible fence (as did the previous owner), she reached out to the previous owner to ask if she would be willing to give us Lucy's old collar and she said yes! I thought this was the perfect example of Christina's caring nature and willingness to go and quot;above and beyond the call of duty.and quot;
Lucy/Stella came to us already spade (by the previous owner) and up to date with all of her shots and vaccinations. We were provided with her entire vet history, which was great. We could not be happier with the new addition to our family. It has only been two weeks and it is already hard to imagine life without Stella in our home! I would recommend that anyone looking to rescue (or not sure about rescuing) to check out Luv a Dog - you will not regret it!
As I understand it, Christina is at the Petco on North Michigan Road in Carmel every Saturday from 12:00-3:00 with dogs/puppies looking for their forever home. I recommend anyone considering adding a dog to their home to go and meet her - you will not regret it!

Christina was absolutely fantastic. She was very responsive to my initial query emails about the dog, June Bug, we were interested in. When she came to our home to let us meet June, she actually arrived a few minutes early, which I liked as someone who appreciates promptness.
What I really loved about Christina was that it was pretty clear that she wanted to make sure that WE were a good fit for June, not just the other way around. She wasn't just trying to pawn a dog off on us. She wanted to ensure this was going to be the June's and quot;forever home.and quot; She looked around the house and the backyard, especially the fence, to make sure it was suitable for the lovable but energetic pup. With the glut of dogs without homes, it would easy and completely forgivable if rescue services didn't do this sort of inspection, but I'm glad that Christina did. It shows a level of concern for the dog that put me at peace that June received the best possible love and care prior to us adopting her.
She told us what the dog's foster parents had to say about her and also gave us a full medical history. Our current crate was too small for the 1-1/2 year old dog we were adopting, so she allowed us to borrow a bigger crate from her until we could find one ourselves.
Thanks to Christina, we now have an awesome play partner for our other dog!
If you choose to get a dog from Christina and Luv a Dog Rescue, you won't be disappointed!

This was a wonderful experience, from start to finish. We weren't sure if we were ready for another pet after my beloved dog died, but as we were scrolling through PetFinder, we saw this little guy. We fell in love instantly and emailed Christina to request an application. She responded promptly, and when we returned the application, she again got back to us very swiftly. He was ready for adoption and scheduled to be neutered that day, and Christina thought it would be nice to have him recover in his forever home, so we made the arrangements right away. When we met to meet him, Christina was very kind and helpful. She provided us with a full folder of information about him, and made recommendations about food brands, training, etc. She very clearly loves animals, and I knew she was confident that he was in good health and ready to be loved. She even got his rabies shots, parvo vaccination, and microchip, providing us with the proper tags and paperwork. She was very professional, but also compassionate and thoughtful. She followed up with an email to make sure everything was going great, and even sent a postcard as well. We are so happy with the new addition to our family, and have Christina to thank!

When looking to adopt a second dog I found luv a dog via www.petfinder.com and visited with Christina and several dogs during her weekly outing to the Michigan Rd. Petco. Most of the dogs available are fostered in private homes so they are well socialized, well cared for and up to date on shots. Christina is such a wonderful, caring person who truly watches out for the welfare of these unwanted pups. After a month, I took my new dog back to visit with Christina at Petco and both my dog and Christina were thrilled to see one another. I highly recommend her organization when considering adding a four legged friend to your family. You can see currently available dogs at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/luvadog.html

We went to Petco to see the dogs this rescue had available for adoption. The owner is one of the biggest hearted people in the world-she truly LOVES dogs as her company name says. She spends every Saturday at Petco trying to adopt out dogs that no one wanted or couldn't care for. If you are looking to add a dog to your family, PLEASE consider calling Luv A Dog first to get a dog that needs a good home.

She was very responsive by phone and email. Christina was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. She allowed us to watch one of the dogs for the weekend to see if she would be a good fit or not. The shelter was clean and safe and I would certainly recommend anyone looking for a pet to contact her.
