"I measured the property on google earth, which is an awesome tool for sq. ft... I was approved, and upon arrival I noticed some horrible conditions in which will take some time to change. I have worked with these customers on what it takes to have a nice lawn. It seems to be looking better, but the true results will be seen in the spring of 2019 to 2020. That's when we will look at the final product, and say, "wow, look at this lawn". But still the work is mostly on their part. Sod on clay with a slope, that is pulverized by scorching sun, and grass intolerant to heat... I like the fact that these customers listen to advice, and execute. It's going to take a lot of work to make it better. So far, so good. Let's hope for a cool wet year."

"It's nice to see a customer that appreciates I'm providing maximum quality. Naturally I'm delivering a higher quality product than other companies. Naturally I have to charge a little more for this quality. I'm delivering the maximum pounds of product on a lawn, without overdosing it. If I ever taper it down, it's because I feel the lawn can't take it. There is no manual for this skill. This comes from the gut and being an applicator for 22 years. I don't care who you hire, it is rare you will have anyone with this skill on your lawn... This is what I"m offering, and I'm not offering this to the penny pinchers. I'm offering this skill to those willing to pay for it. I have friends that offer almost the same quality for less, and am willing to throw their name to a customer that is "shopping around". Any company can throw down 1/2 as much product, and charge 3/4 my price. Unfortunately fertilizer, and herbicide is invisible and it takes time to prove an honest dose was delivered. When I am too old to provide this skill, (and that day will come) and I have young bucks on the job. If they don't own stock in the company, I will understand they will not work as hard, or care as much. At that point my prices will come down, but until then, I understand my value, and will cost a little more. I'm giving more.. Way more than I"m charging. "Yes, I met Angie's List member on an extremely windy and busy day.... He was like "get it done", and I was like "yes sir"... There ya have it! Progress towards a common goal. I must admit, it is easy to forget who has weeds and who do does not... It's always a good thing for the customer to sound off... I have noted the account, and will do my best (My main work truck blew up, and I"m getting a backup truck together, and a highly reputable company is putting in a new motor in my work truck) to get it done, now that I'm freshly reminded again... BTW, I don't get reports from long term customers of weeds... It's only the new people.... Anyway, I will make a note, and let's hope for a good growing season!!! Steve"

"At first I was a little worried the lawn may be dead... She called and said she killed it... After looking at it I determined it was just a fungus, and with a little fungicide, and tweaking in the mowing, irrigation and some things that are (it takes time to get to know a lawn) unknown, hopefully we can exceed my expectations. I don't know if we can do it this year, but I'm in it for the long haul.... I want to stress the importance to other members of following Purdue's guidelines on irrigation practices, and my guidelines on mowing height...
