KEN'S HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Did an excellent job during and after.  Easy to communicate with and willing to go the extra mile.  Hung blinds at the doors for me at no extra charge.  He and his worker, Mike were friendly and very tolerant of my 65 pound dog.  Would definitely recommend him and use him again if the occasion arose.

Ken arrived on time, spent several days here to first install all the windows and one exterior door. Two of the window installs involved expanding the opening, putting in a header, and new drywall around those windows.  He did a great job.  Cleaned up all debris, hauled away the old windows.  He returned a few weeks later to install our interior trim around each window and door.  The trim job is excellent.  He upgraded our previous look. We are pretty particular about what we wanted, but that wasn't a problem for Ken as he is definitely a  perfectionist and took all the time he needed to be sure it was done right and we were happy with it. We are very happy with the new look.  We would definitely use him again and hope to when we are ready for the next phase of our remodel.

Because of weather it took longer than we expected to get this job going. Finally Ken and a helper arrived. They installed the doors with some trouble since they were replacement doors. The doors were installed, but we did notice after Ken left that there was a tear in the weather stripping. Ken was able to order the replacement weather stripping. It took some time to schedule but eventually Ken was able to come in and replace the weatherstripping. Everything went well.

We bought a 94 year old Victorian with huge windows in September of 2012. The smallest are 6' tall by 3-1/2' wide, and the largest 7-1/2' tall by 3-3/4' wide. All single pane, original woodwork, not painted. The house needed some work, as it had been a bank repossession and had sat empty for a couple of years. Upon closuring on the loan, Ken came out and reviewed two windows which had fallen out and were boarded up. Ken met me later in Indy at Carter Lee Lumber. He spent three hours of his own time at no charge, explaining to me the benefits and drawbacks of several windows offered in Carter Lee's showroom, and helped me choose the perfect window for my home. There were too many choices, and I don't honestly believe I could have made one on my own. Ken installed those two windows in a day, and they are spectacular!! It took us another year to be able to put the financing together, to finish the remaining windows, and last week, April 10, 2014, Ken completed the install of the final 14. It only took him a week to do (again, they are huge windows), and included two modifications. A bathroom window was made smaller, and an exterior door replaced with a window. His work was exceptional (both times), and the windows look great!! Best of all, he cleaned up each night, and never left me (or my wife) uncomfortable in his presence, or with his being in our home unattended. True to his word and estimate, all costs were accurate, and I received no surprise extra charges on the back end. I am truly pleased with his work, and would recommend him to everyone.

These tasks were performed in two visits.  Insulating the windows were more involved since he had to take off the stained woodwork with no damage before insulating.  No damage and he completely cleaned up the mess he made.  He insulated the windows by taking out the thin fiberglass insulation and used spray foam instead and and used insulation tape to seal the crack between the drywall and window frame (to cut down on wind drafts).  He then reinstalled the stained wood trim.  I was able to track on our gas bill that this probably saved us 15% on our heating bill.  Ken then came back and installed a standard storm door on our back porch.  He completed this in a couple hours and I could not tell he was even here (except for the new door).  The door work perfect.  I have not had to adjust anything.

It was a small project. All three windows and carpentry was completed in one day. Dry wall took 3 days to completed, 3 half hour visits. Ken is a master with vinyl window replacements, though he does higher end things too.

It began with some kids throwing a rock through a window and getting estimates to fix it.  It was a larger job than just replacing the window.  Ken's price was competitive and he was hired.  He ordered the window replacement and contacted her when it arrived.  The work was completed the next day.  It was neat and well done.  All in all a great experience.

We had a great experience with Ken.  He helped us pick out the replacement windows, ordered them, and picked them up.  The window price was up to us and what kind we chose.  He quoted us a price for his install and that was it.  He installed the windows in a day and did the finishing too.  Highly recommend him!

Very well - explained every step to me that he would do, even when he encountered a beam. He made another beam - did work stronger & neater than builder. Neighborman was impressed.

My wood windows were drafty and I wanted to replace them with more energy efficient vinyl windows.  Ken brought out samples of the window he recommended based on what I wanted.  He ordered them, and within three weeks the windows were manufactured and installed.  Ken did a meticulous job with the installation, weather proofing/finishing, and clean up.  He even fixed two doors after noticing they were not closing properly. Ken was timely, professional, detail oriented, and super friendly throughout the entire process. He was extremely patient while I tried to figure out which windows we would select for our house. He made himself available for questions, requested multiple quotes for us at various places, shared his knowledge, and supported our window selection. When it came to the actual installation of our windows the big key is his ATTENTION TO DETAIL! Ken did a wonderful job with tearing out our old windows, installing the new, adding foam, caulking, and wrapping our window trim with coil. He was thorough during the entire job. We are super happy with how the windows look and the details that Ken put into our job. In the end, we would use him again and would highly recommend Ken to install replacement windows for others!
