Kats Tree and Landscape

Called to set up an appt. Told me he would be by Wed. Thur. or Fri. Called again Fri night when he didn’t show he said he would be by this weekend. Never showed or called Sat or Sun.

Cut down large tree, removal of tree, stump grinding, cut limbs in back yard, removal.

Kat's was in the neighborhood working on another job and noticed the dead tree in our yard. They knocked on our door and provided an estimate on the spot. We had already received 3 other estimates and after checking Angie's List we selected them to complete the job. The crew showed up on time and worked throughout the day, ensuring that all debris were cleaned up. We noticed that they were also very careful not to allow any branches to fall into the adjacent retention pond. They did not use a crane and other heavy equipment that was utilized when we had other trees of that size removed. Instead they climbed the tree and brought it down in small sections with a chainsaw and ropes. This is most likely why their price was considerably lower and why it took so long. We did note that the crew was very cautious and employed safety practices to ensure that they would not be hurt. Most companies charge to remove the wood, but Kat's did not. They even offered to cut it to firewood size for us. We asked them to leave enough to fill a 4 foot log rack along with a few stumps that could be used for seats around a firepit. They even stacked the wood for us which was completely unexpected. Their business card indicated that the company is bonded and insured but we did not ask for proof prior to selecting them for the job. This was risky and we were lucky nothing happened, but it is not something that we would overlook again. Also, the estimate they submitted did not include the company name, address, etc. on it. Providing all of this information would be beneficial, especially when the potential customer is obtaining several estimates and may not remember all the details regarding each company that was contacted.

The cutting process was excellent. Managing the cleanup was trying.

So-so. Mike is nice enough and seems fairly knowledgeable, but his crew was less than careful and professional. They got the chopper stuck in the driveway, banged the side of the garage, left gouges in the driveway, and scraped the brick of the chimney while trying to get the chopper out. Mike did negotiate on the price since we decided to wait on the decision about cutting the tree down. Am somewhat frustrated that Mike has not called to communicate after he isn't able to come deal with the tree stump. Each week, I have had to call him.

DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON VERY COMPLEX REMOVAL. THIS WAS A LARGE TREE THAT WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE HOUSE. MIKE WAS VERY CAREFUL IN REMOVING LIMBS THAT WERE OVER HOUSE, POWER LINES, AND GARAGE. HE WAS GOOD ABOUT CALLING AND INFORMING ME THE STATUS OF THINGS, BEING IT TOOK SEVERAL DAYS TO DO THE WORK.

JOB 1: THIS WAS THE BEST QUOTE WE RECEIVED, BY FAR. OTHER ESTIMATES WERE 2-3 TIMES AS HIGH. RETURNED CALLS PROMPTLY AND GAVE FREE ESTIMATE. PERFORMED EXCELLENT WORK, SAFELY. ALWAYS CALLED TO INFORM US WHEN DELAYED DUE TO WEATHER, ETC. EXCELLENT CLEAN-UP AFTER WORK WAS COMPLETED. VERY PERSONABLE AND HONEST. ALL STAFF VERY POLITE. WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE AGAIN. JOB 2: MIKE HAS ALSO TAKEN DOWN SEVERAL TREES FOR US. HE WAS THE MOST AFFORDABLE TREE SERVICE I'VE FOUND, DID EXCELLENT WORK AND KEPT TO A GOOD SCHEDULE.

HE HAS A GREAT ATTITUDE, AND IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT THE SWING WAS PERFECTLY PLACED AND SECURE. HE WAS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD PERFORMING SOME OTHER WORK AND THEY WERE VERY HAPPY WITH HIS WORK AS WELL.

MIKE AND HIS CREW WERE GREAT TO WORK WITH. THEY WORKED EFFICIENTLY AND GOT THE JOB DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THIS WAS A BIG JOB AND WE APPRECIATED THEIR EFFORTS.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK FROM MIKE AND HIS TEAM. ALTHOUGH WE HAD CONTACTED OTHER COMPANIES, KAT'S WAS THE FRIENDLIEST AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. THE ENTIRE TEAM WAS ALSO GOOD WITH OUR CHILDREN AND OUR DOG! THEY KEPT US INFORMED THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, CLEANED UP THOROUGHLY AND WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH OUR SURROUNDING YARD AND GARDEN. WE WILL USE THEM AGAIN WHEN IT IS TIME TO TRIM OUR OAK.

WORK WAS DONE AS PROMISED. CLEAN-UP WAS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE I HAVE USED. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT, TIMELY, DID WELL AND CLEANED UP WELL. PRICE WAS MORE THAN FAIR. VERY HONEST TOO.

VERY NEAT. IF HE COULD NOT BE ON TIME, HE ALWAYS CALLED. NICE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. SHOWED ME A LOT OF LITERATURE. ARRANGED TO HAVE SOMEONE GRIND DOWN THE STUMP. ANOTHER ESTIMATE WAS $900 WITHOUT THE STUMP BEING GROUND.
