JW PAINTING

Started off very good as far as preparing basement for work and prepping. Cabinets and trims used an oil based paint that was very difficult to work with. They look outstanding. Jerry did a good job working around other workers that were performing tile, carpeting, plumbing and delivery work during the same time. He was very concerned about quality of his work and recommended repainting ceiling after we had chosen egg shell finish that showed too much of the flat ceiling imperfections. I agreed to have him repaint with flat paint. Jerry had given an estimate of 2 weeks to finish project. I thought that to be a long time to paint a 1500 sq. ft. basement but there was a lot of detail. I began to get a little frustrated when it was evident it would not be done in 2 weeks from start date. When I put pressure on Jerry he said they would be done by four different dates until finally it was completed almost 4 weeks after commencement. There were factors that slowed Jerry's progress including another worker delaying what he could spray, changes in ceiling and problems with the oil base curing on the bar, however they did not seem to be making up any lost time by working longer days although there was some weekend work. I believe Jerry had other jobs going on that may have eaten into the time spent on the job. I feel at the end based on my impatience for him to finish prior to Thanksgiving that his quality of work was a step below from where he started. Part of the reason I went with Jerry was because he was ready to start immediately and gave me the opportunity to finish basement prior to holidays and a planned birthday party for my daughter. After he did not meet those deadlines, my overall experience was effected although I would recommend Jerry. We were considering to use Jerry to paint other parts of house but my wife was just so frustrated that it took so long that she would not stand for rest of house being in disarray for an extended period.

Jerry Wagner, the owner of the company, estimated the exterior work the same day and started working on our house the next day. He and his partner did some carpeting work, painted the exterior of the house, changed screens in the sunroom, painted the inside/outside of the sunroom, and power washed and painted the deck. They did an outstanding and thorough job, worked with us on extra things that needed to be done (e.g., Jerry drove across the town to get the needed sections, painted our gutters that did not mach the color of the house), were in the house early in the morning and even worked on a weekend. Jerry and his partner were honest, hard working, and respectful people. We left our garage door open for them even when we were not home. They moved my daughter s toys from the deck and made sure that we knew that nails were on the grass for kids to watch for. I also was expecting a baby and they worked hard to accommodate our schedule.
