Wonderfully! I met with Jeff to discuss paint color choices. He was able to find some colors that I loved in our first meeting. He advised me as to finishes, accent walls, some light fixtures. He also recommended a painter that I ended up using after getting several estimates. I am delighted with his services and with the referrals of the painters he recommended. I will always consult Jeff before I undertake a remodel or improvement project. Well worth the investment. I've picked out my own paint colors in the past and always regretted it.

eff Sheats was referred to me by a previous client whom praised his design work and eye for detail. The entire process from end to end was completed with flawless execution. After meeting with Jeff and team, they prepared a design concept that took into account not only my lifestyle but my six-year-old son as well. I had purchased a home in a historic neighborhood requiring regulatory approval for any external modification. Jeff and team were amazing to work with handling all aspects of the renovation including the applications to the local Historical Preservation Commission as required for my historical home. He and his team are passionate and have an eye for perfection. I couldn’t be more delighted at the final result keeping the architectural elements of my 1885 Carpenter Gothic Revival cottage while modernizing the feel of the interior with beautiful design. I’m now living in my dream home knowing his transformation has made my home the envy of the neighborhood!

Historic homes in registered historic districts often present the biggest remodeling challenges and this project was no exception. An experienced design team can save a homeowner money having experienced various scenarios with working on older homes to ward off common issues. This client's project was no exception fighting a collapsed sewer, a leaking chimney, and historic windows nailed shut among other issues. We were able to open up and rehab every window and door, rebuild the historic chimney with the same brick, get permits for a proper sewer repair quickly and finally create a well decorated and furnished space for this amazing client and her son to enjoy! Jeff Sheats Design did an outstanding job and really listened to our likes and dislikes before coming up with a complete design for our remodeling projects which included new granite counters, sinks, and faucets in our kitchen and 2 bathrooms as well as almost a complete gut of one bathroom, and partial remodel in a second bathroom including new mirrors, lighting, paint, vanity and towel bars and hardware. He offered complete design and remodeling/general contracting services, including CAD drawings, but we wanted to do most of the work ourselves and Jeff and his staff were more than willing to give us as much or as little design services as we wanted. Jeff did all the preliminary gathering of samples and locating products before he made appointments and accompanied us to select our granite and provided us with a complete presentation with multiple options on other products like faucets, cabinets, paint, hardware, lighting and other products. Jeff or his staff secured the products we selected for us or allowed us to purchase the items on our own at our choice of retailers.
Jeff also coordinated and oversaw the fabrication and installation of the granite to insure that it was done to our satisfaction, and continued to check in on our projects even when we were using our own contractors or doing the work ourselves. About a month after Jeff's services were completed and all payments had been made we completed our project to our satisfaction and Jeff visited and saw the finished kitchen and bathrooms.
Jeff or his staff were always available by phone, email and text, and communication was efficient and timely. We felt that we were a part of the process when we wanted to be, and when we wanted Jeff to take over a particular aspect of the project, he did.
We are looking forward to working with Jeff Sheats Designs for our next remodeling or new construction project.

We had made minimal changes throughout our home since moving into it. We had even kept some of the fixtures the previous owner had left. Our whole home consisted of items from our pre-married lives and a few new furnishing to keep up with our growing and changing family. We retained the original paint, floors and cabinetry. After many many years, our home was showing a lot of wear and tear. A few years ago we embarked on a journey with Jeff Sheats and his associates to change half of our world, the 2nd floor of our home. Jeff and his team did an amazing job and we are thrilled with the results. Jeff is a real professional and is very organized and detailed oriented. Nothing escapes his attention, so there are no surprises. Before the actual design process, he had us answer pages of questions about what our preferences were regarding styles, colors, shapes, etc. Then we picked out items and styles we liked on a website he linked us with. Then he used this information to pick out furnishings, tile, colors, etc. and he and his team nailed it. Jeff has years of experience and knows paint, textiles, furnishings, electrical, plumbing, etc and reliable people to get the work done. He goes over every aspect of the job, before and after the work is done and does not hesitate to demand the best from everyone. There is a calendar posted at the worksite detailing what will be happening every day until the job is finished. Jeff is hardworking, reliable, knowledgeable and a talented designer. Every e-mail and phone call is answered promptly, and he monitors every aspect of the job closely, so things go smoothly. He has years of experience and studies all aspects of design. This is evident is both the execution of the job and results. We have hired him to do additional work inside the house as well and it is nearing completion. Once again, the results are spectacular! I never knew our house could look this good. Jeff and his team are deserving of the highest rating. I recommend them highly if you want the best.

I will no longer work with Jeff Sheats. And I do not recommend him.
The final straw was his bill for a deferred item that cost me twice as much as the original proposed amount for the same item a few months earlier. Because of cost considerations, I had put off this item from the $43,000+ renovation project done earlier this year. My sense is that Jeff billed me this excessive amount because he thinks he is worth it, and that I would be a patsy client.
The original plan proposed by Jeff for the renovation of the living area exceeded my stated budget by a whopping 64%. Despite my ongoing reservations about Jeff from 2013, I decided to move forward with the project in 2014-15. The final result is a good renovation of my living area. But, in the final analysis, the price I paid ? in dollars as well as in tolerance/patience ? was too high. It is just not worth it anymore to put up with him.
I had used Jeff previously for a $60,000 home-office project in 2013. I steeled myself to use him again despite my misgivings. I knew the final result would be good, and it was. The design of the two projects he did for me was sound, the furnishings were of high quality, and the follow-thorough was outstanding by his team. But the egregious billing on the item I deferred item was the final straw. I don?t mind spending a lot of money for good work. But, clearly I was wasting money. Jeff Sheats is just not worth it anymore.
I had recommended him to a few people because he is an excellent, attentive designer. But I conditioned my recommendation ? I warned them of Jeff?s irritating personality, huge ego, and penchant for over-billing and constant chatter about hourly billing. I told them ?you will get a good result, but Jeff will take all your money,and exhaust you with his constant self-promotion.?
Jeff?s weird fixation with billing every waking moment is disconcerting and downright comical at times. He and his team will bill you for every paperclip, every sheet of paper, every telephone call, every e-mail they send, and every mile they drive. He
maxes out on "design fees" and ?billable hours,? meaning you will pay endlessly for every minute of every day that Jeff and his team can dream up AFTER you agree in writing to a fixed price for something. It is a loophole that he exploits. The language they use in their line items for billing is an incredible stretch at times, as they clearly strive to justify billing every single moment of every day. I am reminded of bill-crazed lawyers that have the temerity to bill a client for time spent staring out a window. This is a bad thing.
If you are a busy professional with an unlimited budget and little time to spare, Jeff Sheats is your guy. You will get a good result, he and his team will be very attentive to you, but you will spend a lot of money, and probably throw away and waste a bundle also.
Jeff is really crafty and devious, and he revels in the fine print. If you go with Jeff, pray that there are not any problems. Jeff will evade culpability if one arises, and will resort to the vague, legalistic, small print to justify why the problem is all your fault to begin with, and why you should bear the brunt. It is maddening. Jeff sees himself as infallible.
Jeff is a good salesman ? ?he could sell ice to an Eskimo,? as the saying goes. Jeff is like the server at a restaurant who dramatically exaggerates menu items just so you will order them. The more you buy, the more money he makes. He reminds me of the waiter at a restaurant that exaggerates the food so you will order more.
Jeff will tell you he will work with your own subcontractors. This is really not true. Jeff ?does not play well with others,? as the saying goes. If you go with Jeff, let him use his own people.
I grew weary of Jeff?s obnoxious personality, his megalomania, and combative and defensive nature. I have two other renovation projects for the coming years. I will find another quality designer, and will have excellent design for my condo in the future. Jeff Sheats lost my trust. I am so happy to be rid of Jeff Sheats.
There are many other qualified interior designers on this site and elsewhere. Spend your money elsewhere. I urge you to look carefully at them and choose someone other than Jeff Sheats.

This is my second time using Jeff. I would never use anyone else. My first experience with Jeff was a project for my mother. She was moving into an independent living facility. Jeff helped design the small studio to it's maximum potential. My mother was so thrilled. She would often tell me that she couldn't believe that she could live in a place so beautiful. I was so thankful to be able to have given my mother a special place to live during her final year. I will always be grateful to Jeff for helping make her little space a dream home that she was so proud of and gave her so much joy.
This project with Jeff is a bathroom renovation. While some might think that it is a small project, Jeff did not. I was treated like a queen. Any email that I would send was promptly returned with either an email or a phone call. He and his staff treated me like I was their most important client. Any question I had, Jeff was right there with an answer. I was nervous about my project. The best decision was to hire Jeff. He wanted to know what I was interested in, what my concerns were, and what I was hoping to accomplish. Jeff was able to make me feel reassured and I felt like I was in good hands. I trusted him because I knew that he was designing my space to fit me and my likes and my personality.
Another thing that made me feel comfortable was that Jeff is a designer. I sure wish I had used him when I was building my house. It would have avoided many of the issues that the builder did not or failed to address. Jeff has the education and knows how construction is to be done properly. He will not allow improper installation. Jeff's desire is a finished project that is not only beautiful, but done properly and adheres to or exceeds code.
Jeff Sheats Designs is your company if you want a project completed with quality and to your satisfaction. I have found that you pay for what you get. Jeff is worth it.

Our experience with Jeff and his team, as well as the contractor and sub- contractors was a pleasurable collaboration. Before starting demolition, he and his team made sure all necessary items had been ordered, and arranged for ordering tile, lighting, rugs, plumbing etc. far enough ahead of time that, once the project was started, we would not be waiting around for this or that to arrive. The detailed master schedule he produced put this all down in one place for everyone including us: movers to move furniture into other rooms, time for the contractor to lay temporary floors to protect our historic wooden floors, arrangements for when and how long each trade would need to be there. The amount of work that went in to just this aspect was incredible, but it made everything run like clockwork and even allowed time for unexpected add-on work, inevitable in a 90 year old home undergoing major renovation. As each segment of work was completed, the schedule displayed in our hallway was updated and we knew what was next. Any time a new decision was required, such as time to confirm a paint color or a tile sample, Jeff had us and everyone involved together to make the decision. Before work started, we had a walk through the house with the general contractor and the subcontractors and got to meet them all and ask questions. This meant we already knew who would be in our home and made us feel like everyone was on the same page and understood the design plan not just their part of it. We can't say enough about how well Jeff gets everyone organized and focused.

We would do it all over again. We are using the remodeled rooms in a new way because they are not only beautiful, they are more functional. We are grateful to Jeff and his team for giving un inviting gorgeous spaces; with quality craftsmanship; and orchestrating this big remodel so that it ran smoothly.

Another perfect job done by Jeff and his Team. Both Jeff and his Team were always friendly, accessible, and thoroughly professional. Jeff clearly enjoys what he does, and he and his Team are really good at the business. They made the process fun.
The final product was absolutely right for me. Jeff is incredibly detail-oriented, making a concerted effort to make sure he knew what I wanted and needed. The execution of the process was flawless, with all work being done on schedule and within budget. If there were subcontractor/construction problems, I do not know what they were, as Jeff and his Team took care of everything.
Jeff and his team kept me updated throughout the process, making sure that nothing was done with out me knowing about it. If I ever had a question, they were available to answer it right away.
I am very fortunate to have found Jeff Sheats, and I am thankful to him and his Team for their outstanding work.

I called to schedule an appointment in September (can't remember exactly when). Jeff came out to the house on time with his paint chip samples. We went through several fan decks and narrowed down the color choices to four. It was nice to have all of the options in front of us to choose from. He worked within my requirement of "keeping it light and bright" because there is little natural light in the area.
I can't remember the exact cost but I spent somewhere between $150 and $250.
I plan to use Jeff again when it comes time to do the hallway bathroom.

Jeff and his team were extremely professional. They listened to our desires and interests and executed in highly detailed manner. Timelines were met - planning was outstanding. Additionally, he works with top-flight contractors who are "best in class". Jeff pays close attention to details and wants to ensure client needs are met. Of special note, Jeff does an outstanding job with lighting. It is difficult to put into words the skill with which he has utilized lighting, but he's a master! As our guests have stated, and we concur, our condo is both stunning and livable. This is our second time working with Jeff and his team. We were just as impressed this time as when we worked with Jeff a year ago. They listened to our wants and needs for each room, then presented us with a design plan that exceeded all of our hopes! The finished rooms are absolutely gorgeous!! I can't wait to host Thanksgiving dinner in my newly designed dining room! They don't miss anything. They take care of all the details, so all we had to do was sit back and wait for the reveal! Jeff and his designers stayed for the promised amount of time. I told both Jeff and his office manager that I can be a difficult client to work with because of my perfectionism personality. They decided that was fine and wanted to come out to my home for the $200.00 consultant fee anyway. During our conversations prior to Jeff coming to my home, I told him one company I had worked with no longer wanted me for a client because we had a parting of the ways over some work that was not satisfactory. Jeff was concerned about that because this company has a good reputation in Indy and he works with the brother who runs another similar company. The reason I told Jeff about this company was because I was going to contact them to see if they could help correct the poor installation job another company had just done for me installing porcelain tile with epoxy grout in my entire main level. The first questions Jeff asked me when he arrived were how long had I lived in this house and when he found out it was many years he asked if it was paid for. Mid- way through the consultation he wanted to "look in my garage"! He even looked inside my freezer. As the consultation continued I felt Jeff was attempting to catch me or trick me into not being able to make up my mind by asking ridiculous questions about things in my house and how I felt about them.. During the consultation, Jeff gave me a couple of ideas that were nice ideas; however, as he started to leave he told me that quite frankly I scared him. When I asked him why he said that my need for perfection now scared him. When I asked him if he would be able to give me a separate bill for that work he became very dramatic telling me that I should "give my problems to Jesus" and he repeated that phrase several times. Shortly before he left, Jeff told me there was nothing in my house - not one piece of furniture, nothing except maybe my new floor that he would even come close to having his name associated with. That comment surprised me because all my furniture was stacked to the ceiling in my living room as my entire first floor had just been tiled - and Jeff knew this before he came to my home. I guess he didn't like the budget I gave him. I just stood there dumbfounded and watched this man. So did the two young lady designers who were with him. He then had the audacity to shake my hand when he left and tell me he would have one of the designers draw up some type of a plan for me and off they went with my $200.00 check. I think the normal charge for his consultation is $300.00 but he has a $100.00 coupon on Angie's List. Rather than add to the drama and cause further embarrassment to all present I just wanted them all to leave. The next day I dropped Jeff an email telling him I didn't think we would be a good fit and within 15 minutes I had a response thanking me for letting him know.

Better than we ever anticipated. I was an interior design major and usually do my own but was struggling with resources and time. Found Jeff on Angie's List and was very impressed with his prompt response and professionalism. Contacted him about just doing the master bedroom but after meeting with him and his staff and learning of his endless amount of resources and experience, we contracted his company to do lots more. Jeff and his staff made the whole process so much fun and easy that we never had to worry about any of the details. Once the project began, he oversaw the subs and all the work and I have never seen so much attention to detail in all my experience with contractors! He kept the project on schedule (even with a few unforeseen hiccups due to the age of our home). My only complaint is that the rest of our home that we did not update is just crying for Jeff's touch and we look forward to working with him again soon.

It was time for our 2 children who were

Jeff and his team took great care to carefully and thoroughly prepare design documents that incorporated my preferences and
requirements ? many of which I did not know I had until Jeff nudged me to determine what they were, and communicate them to him. Jeff?s attention to detail and strong desire to develop a personalized floor plan that worked was a pleasant surprise.
The subcontractor selection and construction scheduling were flawless. Throughout each day of construction, Jeff or a member of the design team were on hand to supervise and inspect the work being done. Jeff and his team were always friendly and always available when there was a question. If any problems cropped up with the project, I did not know any of them, as Jeff and his team were attentive every step of the way. No stone was left unturned.
While not inexpensive, Jeff brings years of experience and a thoroughly competent team of design professionals to the fore that clearly enjoy their work and are good at it. My project took longer than I anticipated, but the final product was
exceptional. There is an old saying that says, ?It ain?t braggin? if you can back it up.? While some may say that Jeff talks a lot, one cannot argue with the excellent work he does. I am fortunate to have found Jeff Sheats Designs, and am thankful to him.

After we provided Jeff with pictures of things we like and discussed the direction we wanted to go, he and his team got to work. It has to be mentioned here that we put them under a pretty severe time constraint as we wanted the work done in time for two graduations in the family. They never flinched and came back with their overall plan within a time frame that met the deadline. Jeff has a real eye for beauty and the design of our living room centered around a gorgeous fabric he found that was then used on two upholstered chairs. The furmiture he chose is formal as we requested but modern and so the room looks inviting and fresh. It takes a professional and these are colors and pieces we would never have known to put together on our own. Once again, we feel we have a room that is entirely unique to us. He used our artwork and several pieces of heirloom art that had been in the family for 2 generations. A few pieces needed restoration work that the team handled as well. We appreciate that he managed to pull the old and the new together in a seamless way. The entry hall is now a beautiful and inviting area with an exquisite window covering, new rug and interesting but useful furniture pieces. The design was completed well within the timeframe we had asked for.

It went very well - we are very happy with their services. We felt very comfortable and are confident in the selections that we made with Jeff for our home. He is not just concerned about the look but the quality behind that look. We got done what we accomplished. All I was looking for was some advice on the overall decoration of the house. Jeff is very nice and was very helpful. I wish we could hire him for more than one consultation but he is too pricey.

Overall the project took longer than expected but that was because we kept adding to the scope of the job. Jeff was a pleasure to work with, always kind and considerate in letting us know where things stood all through the project. He is now not only our decorator but also a friend.

Jeff and his team did a fabulous job redecorating several rooms in our home!!! He and Kellie came to my house, met with me, took pictures and discussed what my husband and I were looking for in our space. Next, Jeff had us fill out a very comprehensive survey to establish our likes and dislikes; things we would never have thought about otherwise. Within six weeks Jeff and Kellie had a beautiful presentation that totally wowed us! It was so far above all expectations we had, but yet fit us perfectly. He took into consideration everything we discussed, including restrictions posed by needing everything to be handicap accessible. He went above and beyond to make sure all of our family's needs were met.
Once we gave our approval (which we did immediately upon seeing such a gorgeous plan) Jeff and his team got to work ordering and taking care of EVERYTHING! All my husband and I had to do was sit back and relax. During the remodel Jeff coordinated everything so smoothly he made it look easy...which I know it wasn't.
At our final "reveal" we were speechless. Our rooms are better than we could have ever expected!! Jeff and his team were great to work with. It was an expensive undertaking, but you get what you pay for. And what we ended up with are three fantastic rooms that have never felt more like home than they do now. We have already made plans to work on another three spaces with Jeff in the coming year! We strongly recommend Jeff and his team. They came, they saw, they had a vision and they made it happen!!
