It went Very well. Thorough. Replacing 6 faucets and 12 shut offs on a 70 year old home can give surprises and Jonathan handle them all (including a pipe that broke off behind the wall which he repaired then fixed and painted the wall, for a very reasonable price), He also addressed additional work I requested quickly and efficiently.

Jonathan called to confirm if it were ok to show up early. He was professional and prepared for the requested services. He kept me informed of what he was doing and what was needed. He was very thorough and went above and beyond when finding unexpected issues. He was knowledgeable and very helpful in educating me about the repairs that were being done and how best to address any future repairs. He was reasonable with charges and stayed within the original estimate. He is my new go-to guy and I'm happy I found him!

Jonathan said he'd do what I wanted, but suggested other options that led to a 90-minute planning session and a much better design. Rather than simply drywalling over the hole, he built a section that was inset 13 inches behind the 45-degree wall that was there, with two shelves that spanned 5 feet from side to side---a lower one on which the TV sets, and one above the TV for a center speaker and anything else that I want to put there. Below the lower shelf on which the TV sets is an access door that allows the space behind the wall and under the TV to be used for storage. It's all finished very well and looks like it's been there since the basement was finished 20+ years ago. Throughout the project he was reliable and conscientious, taking great pains to make sure the style of the remodel was consistent with the style of the rest of the basement (e.g., rounded corners when drywall met, rather than sharp corners). He sometimes suggested revisions to our plan that I know made his job a bit harder, but as he mentioned several times, he wanted to do things the best way, not the easiest way. An example of that is the access door under the TV shelf; I originally said "just drywall it in" and he said "why give up all that storage?" The access door took him a fair bit longer than framing and drywalling would have, but he eased me in that direction because he thought it'd be better . . . and it was. I could go on, but you get the drift. Communication throughout the project was excellent. Not only "would" I hire him again, I WILL hire him again. We've already showed him a few other areas that need work and will call him once we're ready to pull the trigger on them.

"I talked with the member several times. He wanted on my schedule right away. I told him I would try to fit him ASAP. Then he had a problem with the manufacture of the storm shelter that he wanted to be installed. I took him off of my schedule. A week later he wanted on my schedule again and was just texting me. I fit him in but needed his address. He ignored my text and phone calls. Once he replied he would call me back that night. He never did. NOW THAT I SEE HIS ADDRESS ON MY REVIEW, HE LIVES 2 HOURS AWAY. HE WASN'T IN MY ZONE ANYWAYS. If he would have just given me his address, it would have ended there. This review is out of spite and childish. He also claims that I preformed service for him. I did not."

Jonathon was an absolute professional - unbelievably knowledgeable, punctual, and left the work area better than when he got there. He worked with me related to the jobk so I could do some of the less complicated items myself to keep the costs down. Even though we agreed upon the items i would do, Jonathon is such a perfectionist that he ended up doing most of the work i was supposed to do! The pictures below show the opening that I was supposed to repair and he ended up doing it all except the joint compound and painting - he even put an access panel in for me. I happened to be home that day and interacting with Jonathon was an absolute delight! Not only will I hire him again, but I will personally refer him to my friends and colleagues for handyman services. Couldn't have asked for a better quality service.

Johnathan said that it would be next to impossible to remove the cartridge from the bathtub faucet. He said he would need to cut an access panel in the front bedroom wall to gain access to the bathtub pipes and replace them. After replacing the pipes he would then repair the wall and it would cost me about $500. I told him I would think about it for a few days. He could not fix the leak in the bathroom sink faucet and had to replace the whole faucet and drain. He charged me $185 for this. A couple of days later I noticed that both the cold and hot water connections to the bathroom sink were leaking and rather than calling him I fixed it myself. In addition, the water now drains very slow from that sink. After thinking a couple of weeks about his proposal (which I thought was extreme) to fix the bathtub faucet I bought a CARTRIDGE REMOVAL TOOL and a Moen cartridge from Lowes at a cost of $64. I then removed the old cartridge from the bathtub faucet and replaced it with the new cartridge saving me about $436 without tearing up my wall. Would never hire him again!

"Well as with any plumbing repair there are sometimes drips. I would have come back at no charge to correct the drip. I'm glad that the member was able to solve his own problem. My quote was for replacing the entire valve and to do this I would have had to make an access panel and repair the wall. I'm very surprised that he was able to save that valve. I thought it was beyond repair. Apparently, I was wrong. I was very professional and aside from having a drip my work was quality and my price was fair for the work quoted. I'm disappointed that the member was so dissatisfied and that he didn't give me the opportunity to correct my errors. I always warranty my work and I almost always answer my phone and show up."

I was very impressed with Jonathan from the moment I called to inquire about his services. He was prompt to return my call (within seconds), was very professional on the phone, quoted a price and stuck to that price, scheduled the job quickly that fit in my tight schedule, called to let me know is exact ETA. Was very polite and courteous and did a great job. I highly recommend!

Jonathon and Erin were not only consummate professionals, but very nice people. They responded quickly. Due to the nature of the repair of course, they had to let mud and plaster dry before returning, but they kept coming back until the job was done. I would hire them again in a minute. Thanks for a great job, Jonathon and Erin

What was done. A half wall separating our living room and kitchen was removed. Electrical and cable runs within that wall were removed. Drywall was patched and textured to match the surrounding walls. Old backsplash tile was removed and the drywall was patched and replaced between countertop and upper kitchen cabinets. Old countertop was removed. (The new countertop was installed by the fabricator). Sink, faucet and garbage disposal were reinstalled. New backsplash tile was installed and grouted. From our first meeting Johnathan’s self confidence was evident. As we discussed the project he impressed me multiple times explaining that no corners would be cut, that things would be done right. His decisions and actions throughout the project satisfied my desires for excellence. A couple of times, when presented with alternatives, I’d just tell him to do what he knew to be the right thing. Not once did I waver in my trust in his expertise. To be honest, after his last planned visit and final payment, I had an issue with the end result. I called Johnathan and he resolved the problem the next day. In my mind that puts him above all the other people I have worked with.

I will never use this company again. I had specific an professional drawings of the closet units and the completed project. Johnathan quoted $1400 to do the complete project in a time period of 2-3 days. At the end of his first day of work, Johnathan increased the price of the job by $200 on me with an email but never mentioned it to me. He showed up at random times, usually between 10am and 1pm and worked for however long he felt like it. I told him it was a 2 person job but he showed up the first day alone and only worked for about 3 hours. He brought his wife with him for a couple of days to help because he refuses to work with an assistant. The 2-3 day job turned into over a week because he rarely worked an entire day. One day he showed up with his wife just to tell me he wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be working. He tried to pad the bill at the end by telling me he charged $25 per drawer pull to be installed. The final bill ended up being over $1700 because he also added additional charges for items he picked up at Menard's, but refused to provide the receipts for the actual purchases. He said it "wasn't my business" and then asked me if I ask my "Lexus" dealer for every charge every time I take my car in....Well, Johnathan, YES, the dealership does provide an itemized receipt because they have nothing to hide! He ended up getting paid an extra $100 for an incomplete job. I still have to pay to have doors installed and pay a painter to complete the trim work and to cover areas of the materials that he scratched, even though Johnathan told me he was also a painter. I feel like he saw money when he walked in the house and tried to take advantage of me. I do NOT recommend!!

"Wow... All I can really think to say is wow. I clearly told the member before I started the job that it was going to be $1600 plus materials. She changed the job and made it more difficult several times and I did the changes without any extra charge. She got my email with everything in writing before I started the job and I made it clear that it was $1,600 before I even started. She's right that I didn't feel well one of the days and decided to go home. The instructions and plans that she had for this job were very unorganized and she admitted to that several times. As far as me not providing receipts, I provided her with an itemized detailed receipt from my business. I did not mark up the materials. If a customer wants the Lowe's and Menards receipts they can go and purchase the materials themselves. Those receipts are for my records and I do not typically provide them. I told her that the Lexus dealer is not going to provide her with a receipt that shows how much they paid for parts. The Lexus dealer is going to mark up their parts I do not. This woman came across as very entitled and kept asking for something for nothing. There were several jobs she tried to get me to do for nothing such as installing drawer handles that were not part of the job. I also helped hook up her TV and run wires for her electrical appliances that were not part of the job. She showed no gratitude for the extras that I did for her. it was obvious I was never going to do enough to satisfy this member."

Fabulous. The job went on a little longer than I thought it would because of the perfectionism of Insured Service's carpenter. Even stuff that I wouldn't have cared about HAD to be perfect. The finished result paid off for the delay over the original time estimate though as the bathroom, hallway, front door and new windows are an incredible improvement over what I had in my 1950's house. My home is now a showpiece in our subdivision of similar late-50's vintage ranch houses and my new bathroom is a pleasure to use. I have re-hired Insured Services to re-do my kitchen.

Jonathan answered his phone the first time I called and was able to come the next day, but I had another appointment so his next availability was in two days which worked fine for my schedule. He paid attention to the helpful info I gave him about using the alley for convenient access very near the chimney and he arrived on time of the appointment morning. After introductions I showed him where the leaking problem had occurred in the basement and then he investigated everything on the roof and also in the very humid attic. We recreated the heavy rain to simulate the leaking and he took pictures of the cracks and peeling flashing on the chimney. We discussed the pictures and he proposed what work he could do to correct the problems. He said he might be able to return that same afternoon and if not then next week. Both times worked for my schedule. He said he would call me later to let me know either way. Turns out he was able to return that afternoon and he repaired the chimney cracks with clear sealant, sealed the cement chimney to with cold tar, tarred around the seal and roof connection of the toilet stack vent. I asked if he could check the one raised shingle I had noticed at the ridge line and he nailed it back down and added a bit of tar to it. He noticed 2 other spots in the roof valley that could use a bit of attention to and took care of those and showed me a picture. The seals and tarring were still too soft to re-test to ensure that the leak had been sealed but that night we had a very, very heavy rain and there wasn't one drop of water running down that stack into the basement or dripping onto the surrounding subfloor above! Jonathan said he would email me an invoice for the $75.00 inspection fee and the $150.00 repairs. I received the emailed invoice 2 days later that also served as receipt for the payment checks. Jonathan was personable, professional and his repairs took care of the problem.

Fabulous. This was the first job that I used Insured Services for based on the generally positive reviews on Angie's List. Insured Services took care of all the details including the sometimes tricky location layout in my back yard, hiring the sub-contractor for laying the concrete foundation, performing the running of electrical service from house-to-shed, and making sure that the fiberglass shed kit was assembled for the long-haul. I simply wrote a check to Insured Services and had my shed completed and ready to use in 1.5 weeks. The shed that I used was a Lifetime 6433 and now, after three years, it's holding up beautifully thanks to the quality of the shed kit and Insured Services superb work on its installation. The "Approximate Cost Of Service" that's below includes the cost of the shed kit, concrete foundation, electrical parts, and all labor associated with the installation.
