Next day after second payment made, crew was installed a "temporary kitchen" with a sink, and we were told cabinets wouldn't arrive for 6 more weeks. Six weeks later, we were told cabinets/countertops had not been ordered, crew had quit and our project could not be finished. Contractor had another company come in and estimate the completion. That was two months ago and contractor has not given payment to complete, only says he is "working on it". Kitchen has a revs toy plugged in frig but no other working appliances. The brand new dishwasher and microwave are currently sitting in my garage, 16 weeks a after the project started.
"Customer contacted my office in January of 2013 asking for a quote. I sent one of my former employee’s at the time out to meet with the client like I normally do. They met and we submitted a quote. Indy Construction and & Transportation never heard back from the clients so I assumed they chose another contractor. In June of 2013, I received an email from the client that I had spoken to in January asking when I planned on finishing the job. At that time I immediately responded advising that I had no clue about this job and to call me directly so we could talk. He called and explained to me that the contacted my former employee directly in March and signed a contract with the former employees company not Indy Construction & Transportation Services and gave him a payment to start project. At that point I asked client to meet so we could discuss further. We met he provided me copies of receipts and a contract that him and his wife signed with my former employee. The contract is with a newly formed company NOT Indy Construction and Transportation Services. I then explained that legally there’s nothing I could do because my comp any had no legal binding agreement and that he should pursue litigation against that company. Indy Construction and Transportation Services did not sign a contract with this client. I told the client I would be willing to help as much as I could, however financially there wasn’t anything I could do to help them out. To my knowledge, my former employee’s newly formed company is not a client of Angie’s List for this complaint to be made against them directly. However, I would like for this mark to be removed from my company’s page."
