Indy Cakes

Our wedding cake was the only thing I was picky about - we went to almost 10 cake tastings to find the perfect cake. Indy Cakes was so much lighter, flavorful, and affordable compared to its competitors. They were so friendly and worked with us to provide us with exactly what we wanted. They delivered right on time, were extremely professional, and so delicious. We are enjoying the leftover cake days later!

First off, when I walked in, she told me that there was no problem giving me what I wanted. She said she was experienced at this. When I walked in, the color was completely wrong, the flowers were missing major details, her smash cake had nothing princess on it, it was covered in vines. All of the tiers wobbled on top, there was no icing to hold them in place. In the back, you could see the Hardee's coffee stirrers and popsicle sticks that she used for supports, coming out of the cake, as well as the Elmer's Glue that she had strung across the black popsicle sticks that she used to hold up the white cake. When I told her that it was wrong, she kept apologizing. I also paid for pink and purple princess rings, which I paid an extra $20 for, did not arrive. Instead she gave me a mixture of blue/orange/green/etc, which is not what I paid for and was promised. The fondant she used to cover the castle tower cones was cracking, the tops werent even covered, they were left bare. When I got it into the car, I drove 10 miles an hour home, by the time we tried to take the cake out, the entire cake had collapsed because she did not use proper supports. When I had talked to her, she said that she had thought the icing would dry and make the cake more stable.

Once we started clean up the cake mess, we realized that there was black lint, human hair and a piece of plastic INSIDE the cake. This cake was for a 1 year olds birthday party. You could tell by the texture that granulated sugar, not powered sugar was used. It was very gritty and left a horrible after taste. My Aunt took the icing off of the cakes and realized that the cakes had been overcooked. They were very dry and crumbling. The cupcake liners were coming away from the cupcakes. The cakes were overcooked, then frozen. They were uneven and the interior was gray, it appeared that she used the colored vanilla extract. So it looked and tasted equally horrible. It was like someone with no baking experience had made this cake.

Kathy was great! We went to the shop for a tasting, and she was lively, engaging, and willing to provide whatever we wanted. We chose a two-flavor lemon/raspberry and chocolate/white chocolate mousse cake with buttercream frosting. Frosting was tinted ivory to match ribbon we provided and covered with an iridescent glitter. Each tier was banded by an ivory and gold damask ribbon that we provided. Topper was a gold initial created by the groom. It was beautiful and delicious!
Cake was delivered on time and set up on a gorgeous ornate gold cake stand as we requested. Excellent experience1

I like the fact that I could order over the phone and even scheduled my pick up over the phone.

They made 2 cakes for our wedding. The price was the cheapest we could find, the staff was very friendly and they made things real easy. It tasted great too.

It was wonderful!! For our wedding cake we got to choose as many flavors and as many fillings as we wanted at one flat fee; so our wedding cake was four tiers, four different fillings and each and everyone was wonderful! I wish I had a picture to put up but our cake was completely different and they created it perfectly! Hot pink on one side, charcoal on the other with flowers cascading down. It was everything we wanted at a much cheaper price when I compared. And everyone we worked with was completely helpful!!
For our other two cakes they were just as delicious and easy to work with. I like things a bit differently and every time they were willing to create my vision!!!

We highly recommend IndyCakes for your wedding cake. My husband and I tried several cake places, and we knew right away that IndyCakes was the bakery we wanted to select. The cake tasted amazing, and Kathy at IndyCakes was very warm and helpful to us. We chose a four tiered cake with different flavors in each tier—red velvet, orange, lemon and carrot cake. We had a
beautiful damask print design. Our guests complimented the cake over and over again! Additionally, their prices were great. We plan to use IndyCakes for all of our special occasion cakes… even a gender reveal cake in a few years!

My entire experience was very good with this company. They returned my calls right away. I had a specific request for a design and it came out beautifully. They are a little pricey, but I couldn't have asked for a nicer cake.

I honestly chose them over Classic Cakes because they were ALOT cheaper for the same product. I saw reviews saying that the cakes are good but not great so I was not expecting the best tasting cake. Boy was I in for a LOVELY surprise when the strawberry and vanilla cake (with vanilla icing) was superb. All 15 guests loved the cake. I wish there were leftovers as the icing was so delicious and the cake batter was so sweet and perfect. I have never had a better tasting strawberry cake before. As for presentation, the cake was beautiful. They even gave us a free smash cake which was just as beautiful as the main cake. The smash cake had a little lady bug on top and black dots and flowers around the cake. So cute. They both looked like professional, original cakes (as they should).
The customer service was wonderful. Both ladies were very helpful and very kind. They acted as if I was their only priority. Very professional. I can't believe the price for the product. Will use again and again.

They were wanting a mixture of fondant and butter cream icing for the cake. We did a tasting, and typically the fondant doesn't taste good. This fondant was sweet and wasn't rubbery or hard. The tasting of cakes and creams featured a great variety and was just great. The kids chose a marble cake and banana cake, with a cream filling in between. The groom's cake was a replica of a Jack Daniels bottle. The cake was just superb. She was very informative, and we would definitely go back. This was some really good wedding cake.
