They did a fantastic job! Not only did they charge about half the price that other frame shops were charging, but they also did it in under half the time the other guys were estimating. Wow, not often you find gems like this!

I've used Indianapolis Picture Frames for several years now. Though I'm a regular, I typically only bring in one or two small projects a year - I'm certainly not a high-volume customer, and yet they have repeatedly taken extra measures to make sure I am pleased with their work.
Most recently, I brought in a poster I'd bought on vacation in Colorado to have it framed. When the job was complete and I went to pick it up, I noticed there were a couple of big white splotches on a field of dark blue in the poster that were not there when I dropped off the poster. I pointed it out to Mark, the owner, and he asked me to leave it with him so he could figure out what had happened. About two weeks later, Mark called to let me know it was ready. When I arrived to pick it up, Mark explained that he'd contacted the National Park where I'd purchased the poster and replaced it at his expense. He had discovered that the heat from the dry mounting process was lifting the ink off the poster, which should not be happening. He used a pressure-sensitive s********** on the replacement poster so that it could be framed without getting damaged. He also contacted the National Park ranger who'd sold him the replacement and let him know that they needed to contact the printer who was supplying the posters to let them know this problem exists.
Although the poster itself was inexpensive and the framing job was relatively small, Mark understood that it held sentimental value for us as a souvenir of our vacation, and he went the extra mile to make sure the job was done correctly. It's a perfect example of why I prefer to shop independent businesses whenever possible - great customer service from an owner who truly wants to make sure the customer is happy with the final product, who is eager to make things right when there is a problem.
Thanks, Mark!

Response from Indianapolis Picture Frames
"[MEMBER NAMES REMOVED], I wanted to thank you for the review on this job, but I think you have the wrong framing company. I could not find your name within our customer list. What had me question this was the pricing. Most of the certificates we frame would be $100 or less. I do not know of any that have been close to $200. Please do keep us in mind or any future framing projects. I am wondering if you used Picture This at 62nd and Allisonville, next to big lots?"

It went smoothly. No drama - I told them what I wanted and they did it!

The shop is a family run business and they take each project no matter how big or small very seriously. There is significant attention to detail and experience from framing everything from record albums to wedding photos to diplomas. I will definitely use their services again. Very pleased with my experience and the final results.

I bought a custom wall clock and brought it in to have a new frame and he was so helpful because we also framed the back of it to protect the mechanical part and space it from the wall. He also added glass so the clock will be better protected over time. We also had a diploma matted and framed - both projects look great! Can't beat the price or the turnaround time!

I bought a Groupon for Indianapolis Picture Frames to have a 12 x 24 frame made for a photo print. Mark was great at helping select the best frame style. (We opted not to do a matte on this particular project.) The turnaround time was very quick. The 'B' grade in quality is because when I received the final product there was, what we later found out to be, lint in between the glass and the print. Mark was so good about getting it fixed and offered to have the photo reprinted if the print had been damaged. He claimed it's not typical of their quality or expectations which I absolutely believed after seeing how he handled it. Mark explained why the lint wasn't caught the first time around - we're all human and I know mistakes can happen so I'm fine with how everything was resolved.
With some of the left over framing pieces Mark builds and sells some pre-built frames for very reasonable prices. It's great if you're looking for an eclectic frame collection or for artists who like to paint or work on frames. I bought 5 of these frames in various sizes from 8x10s, 5x7s to 9x12s and he cut mattes for some and added glass and backings and the total was $70! He included the 5x7s for free but I think it was a great value! He's totally flexible and I highly recommend him for affordable and good quality custom framing projects.
The only problems I've run into is working around their business hours to pick up my purchases. He can make arrangements for a Saturday pickup, but they're normally not open on the weekends. He has connections with surrounding businesses that are open later in the evenings and can work out pick up arrangements with them as well.
Overall it's been a good experience and I will be using them again!
